After a disappointment at my local Walgreen’s(no liquor, really?) I decided to go by my local shady convenience store for the first time. It was surprisingly homey inside, made mostly of wood with large claim-jumper-esque chandeliers. It looks like it may have been a small family restaurant at some time that was converted to a den of filth. Likely coincided with Sinn Cabaret moving in next door. They didn’t have a huge selection of alcohol, but did have quite the spread of flask-sized bottles in every ounce-age imaginable. Do we really need 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 oz. bottles of Jameson? The answer is apparently yes. There was a surprisingly long line of people in there buying alcohol and other things. It’s a small grocery store too. Most of the people in line knew the guy running the place(D.J. I presume) and held some conversation with him. The prices were also reasonable, I got my 750 ml of Goldschlager for 24 bux and was off to fill my own flask. They took AMEX too, which was another surprise. Thanks, D.J. 3.5 stars.
