Good honest company with great people! I have been working with them for a while now and am very pleased with their business ethics. They do good work, and the owner Dan is a really good craftsman, a jack of all trades.

I booked a chandler installation with them on Amazon. The site specifically says that the cost is an estimate, and that more cost may be incurred depending on the circumstances of installation, which I am totally cool with, and expect. I was never contacted by Dan Keen Services, and instead, after 2 weeks, they cancelled the order with the message«More work than scoped on website.» These guys(or guy) wasted 2 weeks of my time and weren’t even willing to call and discuss the installation.

This company doesn’t even deserve one star. The other negative posts are true– no desire to do good in their profession, simply make money off of people. Business is business, get that. But when you over inflate an estimate merely to pocket $ 125 for a bogus«service» call, that is not good business practice. DONOTUSEKEEN! There are many other businesses offering better services without the shadiness– stick to them! DONOTUSEKEEN!!! You will kick yourself in the behind if you do.

Beware… hold your wallet as tight as you can, unless you belong to those who don’t know what to do with their money. Swapping out an interior door: $ 700, —(Home Depot did it for me for $ 137, —

I got to these guys through HomeAdvisors. I have to say that I agree with Steve that he uses the ruse of a «diagnostic» fee as a way to force people to use his services. The«diagnosis» lasted 10 minutes. $ 125 for 10 minutes of time. The repair person was very nice. It doesn’t detract from him. The more I thought about this, the more obscene this«diagnosis» fee became to me. I get the utility of not wanting to waste time on «free» estimates on the one hand, but welcome to the real world on the other or maybe a more reasonable trip fee. The receptionist told me that they charge this because they pay the guy going out. Trust me, he didn’t get $ 125 or anywhere near that amount. He’s paid whether he comes to my house or not. Keen’s story is that this is his way of «qualifying» buyers and that his work is perfect and the best in Arizona so he can charge these kind of C-level type hourly rates. It’s also a way for hiim to charge nearly double what others charge and obligate the person who pays the $ 125 diagnosis fee. I decided today that even though I have at least another $ 45K in work that Keen Services could do for me, that I was so offended by what he values his time at that I will do business with someone who charges a reasonable trip fee. A 3-foot area was not replaced, but the old plaster peeled off and replastered … nearly $ 500. Learned my lesson and will definitely let HomeAdvisors know about the ridiculously high«diagnosis» fee. It doesn’t matter that this fee comes off the final bill — the game here is that Keen knows that he will be used because people don’t want to lose that $ 125. They will pay his higher price.

I would steer clear of this outfit. My Mother-in-law who is 85 called this outfit to get an estimate for her roof. The home is only 7 years old with asphalt shingles and a few pieces of the roof cap blew off on a storm. They said they would send someone out to give an estimate but they wanted $ 125 to do the estimate, but they would deduct the $ 125 from the bill. The person she spoke with(Dana I believe) demanded a credit card on the spot before they would even schedule the estimate. My mother-in-law uses checks and she said she would give the estimator a check, but they refused and demanded a credit card before they would schedule. Luckily she called me first and I told her that is unacceptable to get paid for an estimate and pressure someone to give a credit card. Come on Dan Keen — seriously?! If they will try and pressure senior citizens that speaks of the integrity of This outfit. Beware!

I would not recommend their services to anyone seeking professional roof repairs. The crew was late and once arrived showed no sense of purpose to preform the repairs needed. For a company that charges hourly this greatly concerned me. After the job was completed, three hours longer then anticipated, the finished product appeared an industry joke. The new plywood that was put in to repair cracked plywood was already splintered from just the weight of the individuals that installed it. All the shingles raised well above any others on the rest of the roof and poorly placed. I don’t see how they would be able to offer any warrant period on the work they have performed. Once I received the total due I was lost as to how they could charge me to watch their crew sit around on my roof, visually performing no work for extended periods of time. To have to pay their outrageous price to know I’ll have to pay someone else to come fix this saddens us.

I use Keen Services for rental units that I own and its the only number I need for any type of issue that I have. I have been very happy with their work.
