MOVERSBEWARE!!! Upfront Josie seemed courteous and gave me a $ 350-$ 400 estimate for my move. I hired them to come a day early and pack dishes and breakables. They saw my furniture and items to be moved. Day of the move was HELL. They didn’t wrap a 52″ flat TV, mahogany furniture and ended up causing damage to numerous items including an antique dresser. I purchased additional insurance for this purpose and trying to get them to pay up was fruitless. Hello small claims court! Move also cost an additional $ 350 because the movers were slow. And my move wasn’t even 10 miles. No stairs. I even bought them lunch. Ugh! The owner Ron is a crook and lied in a letter about not receiving information for a claim in time. My letter was sent certified and clearly shows he signed for it Before the deadline. Needless to say, I would never use them or recommend Bannister. Not even for moving dog crap…

They have a reasonable rate compared to other companies. Owner nice. One of the movers was not very professional. I had to ask for my furniture and mattress to be covered. One of the movers was not happy as I tell him where I’d like my things to go. If you want your furnitue and boxes piled up anywhere in your home because the movers are tired use bannister. I did tell them where I’d like my boxes and furniture but when I am not looking or not there they put my labelled boxes wherever is the closest to the garage. I had 35 boxes and 8 furniture pieces. They started at 1pm and ended at almost 6pm. The home I was moving to is 15 minutes away. I feel the 2 movers could have been done sooner.

I would definitely not hesitate to use Bannister Movers again. Moved to the Phoenix area mid-August, used PODS(won’t use them again, but that’s another review). Had friends that were going to help us unpack, but that fell through, so we thought about hiring someone to help us unpack the PODS and move some of our bigger pieces of furniture up to our third-floor apartment– the couch, the bed, bookcases, etc. I called Camelback movers, and got a rate of $ 225.00 for two movers for two hours, and they would have to «check availability», and told me that I may not be able to get a mover for a week or so. Pass. I called our apartment’s ‘Concierge Service’, who secured us a reservation for Friday of the same week with Bannister Movers– two movers for three hours for $ 260.00. They were so professional and courteous that I tipped them both $ 20.00, and it was the best $ 300.00 I ever spent. Worth every penny. In all fairness, was everything perfect? Well, not technically. They were supposed to show up at 8:00, they did not show up until around 8:30(and, in fairness, part of that delay was because they went to the wrong building). But did they give us any lip come 11:00 about them only being scheduled for three hours, like I would have expected, being from Chicago? Nope. Their clock started when they started unloading the PODS container, and they had the whole thing(not just the big pieces of furniture) finished within 3 hours. So, since their late arrival was the only ‘negative’, I can’t see docking them for that– things happen, and their professionalism, courtesy, and honesty really set them apart in my experience. I will not hesitate to give them a call again when its time to move from my apartment, and neither should you.
