This place rocks. The staff is always so polite and friendly and the sushi is fresh and so awesome. Great prices and clean building. All around 5 stars

Good food, low stars because of service. The wife and I were regulars, but sometime back we stopped in and were seated. Ordered a beer which came quickly. But that was the end of service. We were literally the only people there and when my beer was about gone with not another word from the waitress we got up and left, noticing at that time that both the sushi chef and the waitress were glued to the TV behind the bar. A soccer game was on. I do not know if it was an important game. I hope it was as we’ll not be back. Now driving from Piñón Hills Hills past Red Mango to Hesp/V.V. for sushi.

Had dinner here on New Years Eve. My boyfriend and I live in Wrightwood, so love this place is right by us. I’m REALLYREALLY not easy to please with sushi. I grew up in a Japanese and Korean home. So yes I know what good sushi is for a white girl. We ate so much it was incredible. There is a ton of stuff on this menu. And I tried to get a little bit of everything I could. I can’t wait to go back and have more egg rolls and the baked crab. I don’t imagine one thing this place makes is bad. You can’t beat the service either. Our ladies we’re beyond awesome! See you soon!

We came here once before and it was good so my husband picked up some food last night for dinner and brought it home. I was dishing it out and noticed something in the orange chicken. No joke… it was a big blob of human hair!!! Not just one or two strands. We are talking hair ball. I think they either did it on purpose or dropped the food on the floor and gave it to us. Absolutely horrifying!!! Never ever going here again!!!

3.5 The menu is a mixture of Korean, Chinese, and Japanese, which means you can get things like Korean bulgogi or Chinese Kung Pao chicken or Japanese sushi. The food is okay. It’s the only option in the area if you want to eat Asian food.(near Mountain High, about 8 miles from 15 freeway, going straight down Main St toward Phelan). They have beer, wine, and sake.

Came here for lunch to try it since we live in the area. Very very fresh and good. Came for dinner and also very fresh and very good. For somewhere so far from the ocean, this is an excellent choice in the high desert for fresh sushi. I’m glad to have somewhere to come to so close rather than driving all the way to Victorville.

The food here is presentable and ok tasting. For sushi, there are better places, but this place isn’t bad. The sushi is pretty fresh considering how inland this place is. The facility is nice too. The owner gives me free food sometimes cuz I kinda know him. He’s pretty cool. Service is good. Everything is four star except food which is average comparing it to other places.

Clean and friendly! Favorite rolls are snow roll(cooked) and the red mango roll(raw) I highly recommend to anyone. Good quality food and I have never had a problem. My family goes every year for New Years and we have a blast!

We have been going to red mango for years and it’s always been superb. However, the last 2 times we’ve gone in the last month, it just hasn’t been the same. The food doesn’t seem to carry the quality it used to. The rolls taste a little too fishy and the entrees have lost their luster. It’s a shame, as we love sushi and it’s the only sushi restaurant in town.

I love the food but sometimes, the servers are not really on the ball. The last time we were there, our server constantly ignored us(2 women) and served individuals who came in later than we did because they were couples. She also never asked what we wanted to drink and seemed in a hurry to have us pay and leave. On other occasions, the service was much better. Overall, the food is excellent and fairly priced. I’ll be back but hope that the last server has gone on to another place.

Two words: Snow roll This place has great sushi but the snow roll is by far my favorite. No place I’ve been to yet has one like it and I’ve had sushi all over the world. It’s such a yummy roll. Very clean restaurant with a friendly staff.

My niece and I were out in Phelan today visiting an animal sanctuary and when we were done, we were starving! I will be honest, I wasn’t expecting to find much in that town, and whatever we did find, I didn’t have high hopes for. So we looked on Unilocal and found Red Mango Grill. It has great ratings, and it was about four miles from where we were, so we decided to check it out. The décor is nice. The people working were friendly. Service was decent. Bathroom is super clean. The menu is all over the place. They offer Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Thai food. I guess if you’re the only Asian place in town you need to cater to everyone? I was brave and ordered a Philadelphia Roll, and also the Beef Broccoli lunch special. My niece ordered some dumplings and the Sesame Chicken lunch special. The lunch specials come with white or fried rice, salad, an egg roll, a dumpling, chow mein, and soup. The good: The presentation of all the food was very nice. My sushi was surprisingly good. I am not sure why I ordered it since I was worried about how it was going to be, but it was very fresh, and was actually my favorite part of the meal. The chow mein had a good flavor and was cooked well. My broccoli and the sauce on it was tasty. The egg roll was delicious. The not so good: My beef tasted old, I couldn’t even eat it. Very bad flavor. My niece’s chicken was«grainy» according to her. The dumplings have meat(chicken? pork? I don’t know) and cucumbers! Wtf? Wasn’t expecting that, didn’t care for it. Also was not a fan of the sauce served with it. The«fried» rice wasn’t. I don’t know what it was. But it wasn’t fried rice. We never received our soup. Overall, it was okay. I know I won’t be back here, because I never plan to be in Phelan again. But if you’re passing through town, it’s not a bad place to stop, some of the food was really good.

it’s Phelan, there’s really no excuse to complain, just be happy there’s an Asian restaurant here. i’ve been here a couple times and both times had a good experience. the staff here are super nice and friendly. the food is good but expect to pay a little for this local ethnic establishment(if you live in this area). on this night, i had the special combination plate that comes with your choice of meat(i chose the mango chicken), veggie and shrimp tempura, uoir choice of white or fried rice, sauteed veggies and salad, all for $ 13.99. my BF had the beef curry with rice, which i didnt like too much because i thought the curry was too sweet. my plate was delicious even though i was sick and felt like crap, i ate what i could and took home the rest. the mango chicken is similar to the orange chicken you see at regular chinese joints, i was hoping for something that wasn’t fried and coated. we paired our meal with some warm sake to complete our evening. the food is good, staff is always nice, clean place, good variety of asian cuisines(chinese, japanese and thai).

Located in a mini-mall not too far from Mountain High, this place serves a variety of Asian foods such as sushi rolls, Korean Bibimbap, and Thai noodles and many of the items on the menu have pictures to help out. The food is a solid 4 stars and there’s a large variety to choose from. If I lived in the area, I’d probably frequent this establishment more often. Service and cleanliness were top notch. Food: 4 Service: 5 Ambiance: 4 Value: 4 TLDR: Decent place for yummy Asian food
