Outstanding Texas Bar BQ. Tell them it is your first visit, and they will give you samples. The brisket was excellent, the smoked turkey the best I’ve ever tasted. Love the ambience, butcher paper to eat on, lots of extras, pickles, peppers, bread. Definitely on our«must do again» places

Was disappointed about the lack of options near my hotel for a business trip but Unilocal recommended this place so I went and I’m glad I did! The pulled pork sandwich and the BBQ sauce are perfect! So is the price point. Not too found of the coleslaw but still think this place is awesome!

This is our favorite BBQ place in the area. When our family comes from Missouri we always take them here.

Today was our first visit to Rudy’s. It was a weekday at lunchtime, and the place was hoppin’. The brisket was very tastey. As were the sides. Served in a rustic Texas atmosphere. Besides great food, despite being a chain, the place felt more like a local establishment. I also enjoyed watching the mix of customers — about 50% Hispanic; 50% Anglo; About half white collar; about half blue collar; a mix of young, families, and more seasoned«winter Texans». Lots of friendly chatter, too. It was fun, if a bit pricey for a lunchtime meal.

Exactly what you would expect for Texas barbeque. Great food on a piece of butcher paper with a stack of bread. Freaking good!

Rudy’s potato salad has too much mayo. The brisket moist is ok but the fat tastes like lighter fluid. Which is typical with ppl making BBQ in a hurry. I dont know what… man so what? I do expect brisket to taste just as good here as Austin why is that so complicated?! Makes it seem like I’m asking the impossible. A lot of ppl here seem to like a dense hard lean brisket that is tough. So I guess I need to move. :) k bye.

You walk in and you feel like you’ve left the city and entered a country western set. You have bottled drinks chilled in big ice containers and red checkered table cloth on the tables to our right. The drink coolers stragetically placed so it forms the basis of the line to the counter. After a few minutes to take in the ambiance, you see that its a modern eating establishment. You step up to the counter and you are greeted by a friendly face staff member Melissa. She kindly explains the types of barbecue they have. I decide to try the moist pork, turky, and peach cobbler. Taste: It tastes like it ought to: delicious. Their is beauty in simplicity and the way the meat is prepared and presented is simple but true in flavor. Of course, if you want to add to the real flavor, their barbecue sauce does the job well. As for the peach cobbler, I have mixed feelings since it tasted tart(maybe real peaches used) and maybe Im used to the peach cobbler not made with pie crust, since I found the pie curst to be doughy. Oh I forgot to mention the cole slaw, that was also delicious and tasted freshly made I would definitely come back to this place.

Rudy’s is always good. There was just a misunderstanding with the«chopped» brisket that hadn’t happened in any other Rudy’s before; just a matter of wording. But otherwise, good food, like always. If you’ve never been, it’s all inside seating but part of is has this gararge door sized windows that can be rolled up like garage doors along the outside walls(obviously); so it’s almost like you’re having a picnic outside without the sun blazing down on you. One thing we did notice that this Rudy’s had that our usual Rudy’s(in Spring, TX) doesn’t was flies. Not a really big deal, but very annoying. Rudy’s, if you’re reading this, here’s a tip: Rudy’s in Spring has large Ziploc bags filled with water and a penny hanging throughout the restaurant. I had heard of this, I don’t know if that’s the reason there are no flies, BUT… there are no flies in the Rudy’s in Spring. Otherwise, the food was delicious as always. I really enjoyed my «chopped» brisket sandwich(which they called brisket with bbq sauce in it); the kids loved the turkey; my husband asked for his usual, but again, the wording was different at this Rudy’s, so his looked different. Again, not really a big deal, just kind of annoying to have the little cubes of brisket falling out of the buns(as opposed to the slices of brisket he’s usually given.)

I was expecting a lot more. The food was bland and dry to be honest. I’ve have juicier and better tasting BBQ and brisket in other places, like hole in the wall places and small local restaurants. I tried to use their BBQ sauce to to eat such dry meat but even the sauce was off… it’s almost like it had way too much pepper — as did the beans, which weren’t good either.

I ordered the moist brisket, which was super tender and a little fatty and had a great smoky flavor. I also ordered the Baby back ribs which were tender and fall off the bone, smoky and delicious. I also had a sample of the smoked turkey, and it was very juicy and good. For the sides, I ordered the potato salad which was pretty standard and Rudy’s beans which were ok. The meat just outshines everything else. Slices of soft white bread came with the order. There is also a condiment bar that has jalapeños, pickles and onions. Extra sauces spicy or sissy and their dry rub is served table side. Spicy sauce wasn’t spicy at all and had a good flavor. Definitely will come back when I’m in Southern Texas!

I’ve been eating at Rudy’s for a long time and it never disappoints. The brisket is flavorful and tender and the sausage is good too. Their BBQ sauce is also on point and you eat on paper rather than real plates so it can’t get more casual than that. Overall a good place to eat if you’re up for some good brisket!

Rudy’s BBQ is awesome!!! I love this place! I’m surprised I haven’t written a review already. A few days ago I stopped by for the brisket and ribs and as always, super amazing. Their tea is really good and the sauces were perfect with the meal. The staff are really friendly and the over all atmosphere in the restaurant is perfect. Finally, a BBQ spot that doesn’t let me down and has everything I want. I highly recommend Rudy’s if you want a great eating experience.

This place is amazing!!! They are so friendly and pAtient! I had the brisket, potato salad and banana bread pudding. It was to die for! The spicy bbq sauce is not that spicy so don’t be intimidated by it. I will definitely fi back to try other meats

I always get the turkey sandwich and douse it with sissy sauce mmmmmm! The first time I went and had the turkey I thought, «this is the best turkey I’ve ever had!» And when I went the second time I wondered if it would be as good… It was! The turkey is consistently moist and delicious! I also highly recommend the creamed corn, it’s so yummy! The drive thu has been very slow any time I’ve used it and when I say slow I mean I’ve been the only customer at the drive thru and still had to wait a while– I think they just aren’t set up inside to have the most efficient drive thru– oh well One last and very important thing– when you go, if you’re not sure what to get they will let you sample the different meat to help you decide what you’d like! Mmmm :)

A chain restaurant, albeit from a small chain, but remains a chain nonetheless. You would NOT think it from the food though. I initially didn’t know it was a chain, and was surprised when I found out that it was. This is the best BBQ I’ve had. I haven’t had the luxury of eating BBQ from some of the bigger cities in TX so I don’t know how much weight my statement has. The meat is great every time. Every piece of meat I’ve had is extremely flavorful, tender, slightly smoky, and moist. No dry meat(yay!). I think the meats taste really good on their own but Rudy’s BBQ sauces are so great that I can’t help but slathering them on my meals. They come in 2 varieties: normal sauce and«sissy» sauce. Both are the«heavy on black pepper» variety of barbeque sauces, with the sissy sauce being more milder(as the name suggests). Perfect amount of sweetness and tangy-ness on both. I love to use a 50⁄50 mix of both to make the«perfect» sauce. I also like the atmosphere. It’s as if you’re eating at someone’s country backyard, picnic tables an all, only that you’re indoors. It is a very large and brightly painted space(lots of red and yellow). Prior to ordering, you can pick from a variety of beverages(including yummy beers and Mexican sodas) from large tins filled with ice. Very cool. You can also pick your sides from a fridge prior to ordering. I dare you to find better potato salad that the one you can find here at Rudy’s. Such an awesome place!

I’m just a huge fan of this chain of restaurants. Good quality bar-b-q(and meat in general), a no fuss layout to the restaurant, and the ability to get large amounts if you’re planning a family meal. I’m personally in love with their pulled pork, hubby loves their turkey and sausage. Apparently the ham is also awesome. I mean really, you can’t go wrong with almost anything you order. The staff at this location was also really nice and made me laugh, which is always a plus when I’m checking out. So, if you’re looking for good bbq pull up a bench and dig in to Rudy’s, you won’t regret it!
