THEYHAVE A PLAYGROUNDOUTBACK. Holy cow, sorry to internet yell but that’s really cool. We went here for a late night friday ska show. Obviously the kiddo was not with us but we’ll defiantly be back to check out the weekend vibe. This place isn’t bad. Large stage with decent sound. Large bar so plenty of space to grab a drink. HUGE outside area. They even have a food spot in the back. Lots of covered and uncovered area. My only beef with this place is a cover charge. Cover charges are ridiculous. Unless ALL the money is going to the band then you’re just being greedy.

Be Carefull. I went here and had a few Drinks. My tab was $ 22 not bad at all. I have a $ 6 tip no problem. 3 days later I was contacted by my Credit Card Company asking if I had ment to give a $ 26 dollar tip. They added a 2 I front of the 6. I will probably never go there again and I have warned everyone I know to only use cash if they do. I hate getting ripped off and I’m disputing the charge

The sound system was excellent! You could tell they knew what they were doing with the sound set up. My fella and I went to hear the South Austin Moonlighters, who I recommend checking out; great bunch of guys you could tell enjoyed playing with each other. The outside area was nice and I wish we could have listened to them outside. You had to go outside to order food and they only had two choices of food. Pulled pork sandwich was ok. I liked the pickled cabbage on it. They got the music right but definitely need to work on the seating inside. Not ideal.

Well they think highly of themselves. Went in to watch my daughter play some sand ball. Stopped at bar to get a beer. Unfriendly bad attitude and didn’t want to be bothered. BUT must of thought they deserved a great tip. 4 beers and a 23 dollar tab. THEY added $ 14 tip to the charge after the fact. Deceitful. Fraudulent illegal. Beware of their extra charges on your credit card

As I sit here drinking a cold one the smell of the BBQ pit is teasing me. Although I have just stopped by for one, I know from past experience that the pulled pork and baby backs are outstanding. The staff here is friendly and the music is good(a lot of 80’s). I might not be the«Duke», but I do come here often because it’s in the center of D/T P-ville and I always have a good time.

So last night me, some of my fam and some new friends go out for some drinks. First we go to uncle Gary’s because it’s right by our house. For whatever reason, uncle Gary’s was real dead for a Saturday night and they closed early. We all decided to go hangovers. We had went there once before, by the way we’re new here, and they wanted to charge us a $ 10 cover so we didn’t stay. So we walk in and the first thing me and my girlfriend, who happens to be very attractive, do is walk to the bar to get drinks. For literally one second my girlfriend puts her head down just to express to me she was tired. This young girl bartender feels it’s necessary to tell us to «get the«F out». I look at her to say are you serious and try to show her that she was completely fine and she doesn’t listen to me at all and just say«no, get out!» This kid takes working at a bar in pflugerville way too seriously. Instead of serving about 10 people drinks and making good money in tips, she wanted to feel important for once in her life and treat us like dogs. We walked across the street to red roosters and were welcomed and also was much more crowded and entertaining. I forgot to add that hanovers was dead. None of us will be going back ever. There is no exception to be treated like that. They lost good customers and we will be sticking to uncle Gary’s.

I can only vouch for the sand volleyball. Love the pits and all the dog friendly people who frequent this place. The courts were really nice and I loved that they had water available for the players. Will be back to enjoy more sand volleyball and a beer or two!

Wow! I love this place. We’ve been in Pflugerville for 2 years and had never heard of this place. A friend introduced my husband to it and my husband convinced me to go for happy hour one day. I usually don’t like divey type bars, but he promised me I’d like it. We went a couple of weeks ago after work and I like the fact that they have a jukebox. I haven’t experienced the live bands yet, but will soon and will update my review. Anyway, the bartenders are super cool and they LOVE it when I play Footloose by Blake Shelton 6 times in a row(wink wink) I seriously do listen to that song too many times there, because there’s so much room for me to dance. Everyone is a good sport and I always have a blast there. :) Almost forgot to mention, there’s a place outside that has a few comfort food items.

They have stringed lights on the ceiling and comfy couch-style seating outside. Who could complain about that? They also have THEBEST food I’ve probably ever had. Seriously, ever. I am so glad that I am moving a mile away.

They have two full sized volleyball courts in their backyard. Who does that… Hanovers does. They have a“food truck” type attachment in the back that offers bbq and small plate items. I had the grilled fish tacos and my stomach was happy. So basically, you can play a few matches, eat, have beer/drink and play some more all on a pretty legit deck. Great place to watch a game or hear bands play live. Full size bar, spacious interior, tables, booths and dartboards. Very laid back and comfortable inside and the«divey» décor adds character. I would like to see a few pool tables there but I’m sure I’m not the only one to mention that. Hopefully that’s in the works. This is a place with lots of regulars, handshakes, and being called by first name. The staff is great from management down. Ruby’s so nice. Chris is a bartenders bartender, AJ ‘s cool. I’ve done shots with all of em multiple times. I’ve met the owners Addie and Eddie too. Very hands on and fun people. It can get really packed but some nights it’s pretty mellow. Best to follow em on fb, or you might come in one night to play volleyball and find yourself having to pay a cover because a bands playing. Best bar/food/music venue in Pflugerville hands down and more versatile than most«real» Austin bars. I think they would do extremely well if they were in 78704 but I’m partial to that side of Austin. Btw, their opening a new location but a lil further north. But not north enough to be in dreaded wilco. So here’s hoping their 3rd location is south. Keep it up yal!

I went to this place last night for a friends good bye party. I got there with a date around 7:30. The place had a total of 6 people in it. It was really bright in the bar which gave it a food court vibe. I headed straight for the bar. The male bartender looked as though he was pushed that we walked in. He even at one point rolled his eyes. After waiting for 10 minutes for him to acknowledge us. Mind you there is only 6 people in the bar, he begrudging asks us what we want. The whole time he’s making eye contact with my date. Which is funny because I was paying the first round. I ordered a fireball and my friend a draft beer. The total was 10 bucks! 10 bucks for this biker style, wanna be BBQ, live band(but no band. In fact no music at all! You could hear all conversations going on) place. Very disappointed. I went to their facebook page to voice my concern and you should see the owner/manager/probably the bartenders reply! They basically said sorry and to please change my review. Umm… Nope, thank you. Of all the bars in pflugerville, skip this one on a Tuesday night. If I wanna be treated like shit and spend a butt load on drinks, I’ll go to a bar west lake. I want to try and find something positive about the place. I didn’t try the food so maybe it’s really good? Maybe I came on the wrong night… But I went to another bar down the street and it had a total of 4 people in it and the place was awesome! The bartender was badass and the their was music! We ordered the same thing and we got charged 6 bucks! I don’t know what to tell Ya. Carry on.

Still on the fence about this place. A+ for location … nothing special about the rest in my opinion (For some reason this didn’t post on 1⁄22)

Wow. The pork belly is better than bacon. Great brisket, especially the fatty bits. The ribs were super tender and I even chewed on the bone. This alone would make for a great bbq joint, but here they have smoked fish tacos and savory cheesecake too. After having thr tacos I can’t believe every place with a smoker has missed out on this. They were great, somehow meaty and light. The«cheesecake» seems out of place, but who cares when it tastes so good. Super rich though, so we were pretty stuffed. Next time I’ve got to get the burger.

TLDR; Hanover’s is a-ok. - NTDBR+EOS(Nothing To Do But Read, Plus, Edison’s on Shiraz): For whatever reason, you’re in Pflugerville. You want bar. And you don’t want to go one step further than right there. Boom. Hanover’s. Hanover’s is the pinnacle of generic draft beer bar.(Despite me calling it the pinnacle, though, it’s kind of an oxymoron to be the best of generic? right?) The place is pretty large, and fairly clean for a wannabe dive bar. If it used to be smokey smelling inside, as Kelly alluded back in 2009, I could not detect it at all.(good work, Hanover’s) The jukebox thing is digital. There’s no apparent broken things in here, and no graffitti(although admittedly I didn’t use the bathroom). The outdoor area has a family-feel to it. Overall, it’s clear that the people running Hanover’s wanted to make as many of the average old school Texan demographics feel as welcome as possible, and that’s probably not a bad idea if you have a bunch of Plugervillian family units or about-to-nest-ers in the area.(Although at the current rate of vegans and other folks multiplying in A-town, they might want to look into an alt-menu for when those people move up to P-Ville. Maybe glance at Whip-In?) All the things at Hanover’s: draft beers /regular beers /mixed drinks (I didn’t see wine anywhere, but maybe they have it?) happy hour indoors: bar you can stand at bar you can sit at barstool height tables you can sit at/lean on boothy seats long picnic tables with seats Saxon-Pub-style stage, but with better rear sound reinforcement(add a half star) wood floor(might be ok for dancing) adequate a/c and many ceiling fans bartenders and I think cocktail waitpeople requisite televisions playing random sporting event(s) outdoors: covered seating uncovered seating genericky bbq(sorry smokehouse, but you need to step up your formula if you want to charge what the big boys charge and expect me to come back) dirt volleyball courts(2! possibly add a half star if you belong to the youth leagues that were playing here in the summer, mr. or ms. sixteen candles) mini game room with a couple games in it no noticeable misters(grr)

***SMOKE-FREE bar in Pflugerville*** I used to avoid this place because of the smoking, but kudos to the owners for making this a non-smoking bar! Thank you and Woohoo!!! I have been here on many occasions to see many different bands and repeatedly come back to see my favorites. It has kind of a divey feel, without being trashy. There are volleyball courts in the outside back section along with BBQ. I’ve heard the BBQ is good. I can’t really comment on that personally because I don’t eat BBQ, but others have said it’s good. Drinks are reasonably priced and it’s been a good place to bring or meet a group of friends. Service is ok. No cover charge before 8pm. Many different bands cycle through on a regular basis.

5 stars for the bartender & couple that saved my over $ 700UT Class Ring from being lost forever!(I was that drunk girl that took her ring off to wash her hands in the bathroom) Thanks for the honesty!!!

Kinda let down with Hanovers. I’ve always wanted to play there and when I finally had a free evening, I show up only to be turned away at the door and told that there is a cover because of some band(that I don’t care to see) is playing. There needs to be another point of entry for volleyball players where we don’t have to pay to basically«listen» to a band that is playing inside(away from the court) that we will never hear.

I came here for my first time on Saturday to watch my coworker’s band play, and at the end of the night, I left very pleasantly surprised. Hanover is nestled in the middle of old downtown Pflugerville and seems to attract a bit of an older crowd. I felt kind of out of place at first, but everything became more enjoyable after a few drinks and the arrival of some familiar faces. My coworker mentioned that there would probably be a cover at night(since there were 4 bands playing), so we called ahead and found out that they would only start charging an $ 8 cover after 8pm. Hubs and I got there right at 7:45. YES, more money for beer! We stuck with pitchers of Zieg– which were on special for $ 8– all night. Service was efficient, and while no one at the bar was super friendly, no one was rude either. From several reviews, it seems like this place used to allow indoor smoking. Not anymore though– there was a «Share the Air» sign on one of the walls, and there wasn’t a cigarette in sight unless you stepped outside. Overall, the inside of the place was nothing special, and I would give Hanover 3 stars if it weren’t for the back patio. I never would’ve known that the back patio even existed if it weren’t for my ridiculous grumbly tummy(that normally gets fed once every 3 hours). 9:30pm rolled around, and I still had not had dinner. Tummy told me that it was displeased. Very displeased. In fact, it wouldn’t allow me anymore beer until it got dinner. This is when a bartender pointed me out to the back where Twisted Dish had a food stand set up. Ooohhh… the baaack…(think of «Ooohhh the claaaww» from Toy Story). …of course, I would somehow randomly incorporate Toy Story into this. Dork alert. Super-big, wooden deck patio, pretty twinkly lights, 2 sand volleyball courts, food, and BEERPONG. Hanover would’ve easily been a forgettable bar if it weren’t for this hidden 5 star gem in the back. Hence, my 4 star(averaged out) review. No questions asked– when the weather starts cooling down a bit, you can bet you’ll find me back at Hanover playing pong.

Located in downtown Pflugerville, the downtown area looks like the little old town it used to be. This building has a lot of history, since originally this saloon was built over 100 years ago. I spent the majority of my later childhood and all my teen years living in Pflugerville, and then some after college. And of course I end up coming back when I’m up north. You see, Pville may boast over 50,000 people now but there aren’t a lot of bars to choose from still. Just 3 that I’m aware of. And Hanover’s is the best it gets here, and its not a bad place local bar/hangout if you’re in the neighborhood. The crowd is diverse(or getting more to be) and definitely has some devoted, local clients. Live music every Weds, Fri & Saturday with a measly $ 5-$ 10 cover is nothing to complain about. I’ve seen friends of mine(locals) play shows here as well as «bigger» local bands like Vallejo. Always a blast. Its spacious along with a huge outside patio that is used for shows with volleyball courts. Karaōke Mon, Tues & Thurs for those brave souls, as well as poker nights on Sundays. Offering pool tables, horse shoe pits and darts there are plenty of things to choose from. But be aware this is not Austin and smoking is not banned in Pflugerville. They also claim to be pet friendly, but I wouldn’t bring my dog to a bar. Within walking distance to the other 2 bars in downtown Pville. You’ve got options between dive bars. And unlike downtown Austin, parking isn’t an issue here.
