I’m always up for a dodgy road dinner. We stopped and got catfish and a few sides as take out to eat in the car on our way through. First of all, it smells like an actual pig inside. Not fecally, it smells like snout-to-tail livestock eating. I think(hope?) what the other reviewer interpreted as“foul seafood” was the chittlins and long-cooked pig feet. The cornbread and mac and cheese were excessively unremarkable. The catfish, greens, and sweet potatoes were not bad, tipping to positively OK when doused liberally with the better than average bulk hot sauce provided. We also bought some kimchi, which they sent home with us in a glass ball jar. They have a wide selection of aloe-based beverages, but the only condiments were salt and hot sauce, which when you get right down to it is all you really need. Just goes to show, you can’t judge a book by its musty stench. And you should never let the risk of a protozoan disease keep you from adventure-eating. Thumbs up, Solomon Seafood Soul Food.

I’m always interested in trying places that consider themselves ‘seafood’ establishments… however, upon entering this place I almost passed out from the smell… now, I’ve been to enough places that sell and serve seafood to be used to the normal smells… this place has a total different smell, not of fresh seafood, but of bad, foul seafood. They also have the audacity to serve what they call ‘home cooked food’ and I suppose since they have been open for a while somebody is buying it… I just made a u-turn without ever considering a purchase.
