I wish I could give them a BIGFATZERO!!! I made an appointment with CHRISTINA a couple weeks ago. I can understand her being shy. I have no problem with that. She didn’t ask what it is that I wanted for my hair cut. I showed her a picture of what I wanted my hair to look like. Basically layers. She said ok. It was obvious she didn’t know what she was doing. She looked nervous and flustered. So she cut my hair for a good 20 min. Blow dried my hair. that was it. I told her I wanted the layers to start near my face. She miserably tried to do what I asked. I told her to forget it. And I got up from the chair. I had had enough. I wasn’t going to let her destroy my hair anymore. She had the nerve to charge me $ 39 dollars. I went to the front to speak with one of the cashiers. I told her I was unhappy with the hair cut. She called a manager. The manager came by took my name and phone number. Said I would get a call back in about 2 days. I stood near the register for a moment and walked out. I NEVERGOT A PHONECALL! I am so upset. Yes it’s just hair and it will grow back. But it’s SO noticeable and for her to have the NERVE to charge me for destroying my hair. And for NOONE there at ulta to care about their customers is upsetting. Please don’t take ANY chances and don’t come here for a hair cut.

I love all the serviced here and I like the fact that they have high end products to drug store ones but I went in yesterday to try the salon and I am not happy. I went in and asked to get a trim and to have my hair thinned out. It looked nice that day while it still had product in and it was styled but I washed it and dried it and it looked frizzy. Apparently it was cut to high and it was cut as if it were layers. I specifically said i didnt want layers. That I dont like layers. So now I have to spray my hair down or use gel and have it in a pony tail or bun until it grows back. I wont be able to have it straight or curled because I’ll have hair sticking up very obviously. Im not getting my hair cut there again. Im very disappointed.

Shopping carts are a fire hazard apparently, I guess that bans moms with toddlers. Thanks for discriminating Ulta! What do you say to people in wheel chairs?

Stopped by an hour before close and was able to pick-up everything on my list. There were 2 employees and they were completely night and day. One employee ignored us while the other asked if we needed help finding something. She walked us to the aisle and also went to storage to pull product that had not been stocked. The store was clean and very organized.

I recently moved to Petaluma from SF and was in need of a hair salon. I’m growing my hair out and needed a trim and shape to take care of a wonky layer issue. I had a few red flags here. First one was grabbing a same day appointment. The second red flag came when the stylist mentioned how thick my hair was, and how hers was too damaged from over-coloring. Not good when the person doing your hair wrecks her own hair. I don’t like to write negative reviews, but this cut is so bad I had to break down and post this. Without saying who the stylist was, just know that on the day she did my hair, hers was bright blue. I told her my main issue was the lack of shape, and the top layer being so prominent. I wanted it styled and blended so I could get through this awkward growing out stage. In the middle of my cut, she had to take out another client’s rollers, and style her hair, and then shellac it for graduation photos later that day. Hello? I don’t recall making a shared appointment. This wasn’t just a moment to take the rollers out, she DID her hair as I sat there with wet half cut hair! When she came back she said ‘oh, sorry about that’. Then she took a little off the length, and then hacked at the top wonky layer with the dreaded thinning shears. Her final touch was to stick four bobby pins in it and call it done. I accepted this as I was more than anxious to escape. I now have a butchered head of hair. I have to use a bunch of hairspray when putting it in a ponytail because of the mess she made with the thinning shears. My hair has no shape, and is even more wonky than when I went in. At this point I’m ready to go back to short hair! Bottom line: Why pay $ 10 for a Super Cut when you can pay nearly $ 50 for a super bad cut.

The customer service has shot down hill from the past handfuls of times I have been here. I have met a few nice workers but most of them I have encountered were quite rude. When the place was new I had no problem with the workers quickly approaching me asking if I had any questions. Now I get nothing. I was around the Urban Decay section and saw 3 workers in a small circle just gossiping. That is not professional when you have customers around. The fact that 1 year of work/retail experience is required to apply to work at Ulta is the reason why I am mad about the crappy customer service I received. Honestly the customer service is the reason why I would rather go to Sephora.

Love going to Ulta at any location because of course of the products & some friendly staff… only some Im two star less because Ulta staff, should, at all times be professional, starting at the door when customers walk in. Please do train your staff to make sure they connect with every customer that walks in the front door… And not having a full conversation…

I deleted my initial review for this location, since it reflects on a racial bias of service I felt at this location. The place is a typical beauty store similar to a Macy’s look. I have to say I was impressed by the way the company has presented itself almost like Sephora with the addition of a beauty parlor. Prices are more expensive on same item merchandise you can locate at target right by the store such as hair products and soaps. Overall the service was mediocre for the brand they are trying to represent. 2 stars for a good looking store.

I don’t like sales people here. They come to me and ask if they can help for something. But when I ask questions, they change their attitude. They still answer my questions, but it’s not exactly the answer to my questions. And they act like they really don’t want to help. This happened more than once here. It is very rude. Also they don’t have the merchandise they advertise for a certain date. I came here for the particular item they advertised for that day. They have many signs of presents offered by manufactures all over the store. So I chose an item looking forward to receiving the gift, but they don’t have it. It is false advertising. I am very frustrated by this store. I wish to find a nice store.

had the most wonderful experience. I shop at ulta often(not this particular store) but love their products, prices and customer service. This store is no different. I had a hair appointment at the ulta salon with Montana who did a full foil dimensional highlight, layered hair cut, blow dry and style. I am more than impressed. The colors came out exactly how I asked and her personality made the 31⁄2 hour long appointment so enjoyable. She is both talented & welcoming, which meant a lot to me since I am not from the area and have never been to this salon before. I would recommend her as a stylist/colorist to anyone in the area. I can’t wait to come back!

Usually I enjoy my trips here. Last time I was in I got what I needed and went to the register to purchase the items I had. The cashier(shorter girl with long black hair) was extremely unfriendly. I will not be going back after this experience as I would rather give my money to someone who can at least act like they are happy to be there.

Friendly store. :) I was greeted and helped as soon as I walked in. I have been here a few times, but this time I found some cute hair accessories and brushes. I am glad I don’t have to drive out of town to find a good beauty store.

Lisa P. who wrote on December 18, 2014 that items she sought to buy here were not in stock. She commented about many empty shelves. Bambie & I came here for some skin care products advertised on the Ulta website. None of the items we wanted to buy were on the shelves. This place is a Sephora look alike imitator. A pretty mediocre one.

The manager Michael contacted me today. He was very kind and understanding. He refunded my money and also gave me a little box of goodies(hair product, eyeliner, lipstick etc.) *** I will still go to this Ulta to see Brittany for my eyebrow shaping.***

I had never used the salon before, but I had a 30% off first service coupon and I’ve been dying to try a new hair color, so I made an appointment with Melinda. I explained to her that I am a poor college mouse and, though I was a little embarrassed, she was super helpful in making sure I could afford anything she might do before she touched my hair. I had a different vision originally from what we ended up doing, but she explained what would easiest and cheapest to do and last the longest so I agreed to try something different. I loved how it came out in the end! Melinda was super cute and I loved chatting with her while she worked. After she finished the color and the wash, she dried my hair and gave me some gorgeous bouncy curls. I might come back and try a cut with her too!

The shopping selection is only okay, but the customer service, especially at the salon, was terrible. Two salon associates saw me standing at the register waiting and continued their conversation for another four minutes before one of them came over to ask me if I needed help. She then gave me some excuse about not being able to help me because several workers had already left, despite the fact that I had called earlier to make an appointment. She didn’t try to offer any alternative workers or services and just stared at me without saying anything until I walked away. The sales associates at the front aren’t very helpful unless they think you’re going to buy anything and if they think they can upsell you. The only good person I’ve encountered here ever is an older gentleman who may be the salon manager or something like that. He was very knowledgeable about different brands of hair care and very helpful when I had questions.

I always to go the Santa Rosa location, but unfortunately, they did not have an appointment for makeup application when I needed it. I had my make up done here for an event and my experience was okay. I showed the woman a picture of how I’d like my make up to be. It was a basic smokey eye, gray, black etc. She used all brown/tan eye shadows on me. Not really sure why when the picture I showed her did not have those colors. It wasn’t a huge deal, it still looked pretty. I felt that my foundation was not enough coverage for me and I would have preferred something more heavy or flawless looking. When I made the appointment, I asked if I could bring in my own lashes to be applied and I was told yes. HOWEVER, no one mentioned to me it was an extra $ 10 just to put lashes on. I TOTALLY could have done that myself. I wish I was told that when booking the appointment. I wasn’t too happy about that. She took a long time to do my make up and I had ZERO time to ask her to fix anything because it took forever and I was running late. I will definitely always try to go to Santa Rosa when possible.

So I’m from the East Coast where there’s an Ulta on every corner. I missed Ulta when I moved here. Well I miss it no more as they have opened a giant Ulta in Petaluma! It’s huge, neat, clean, and has a terrific staff. Great sale items too and all of the«little things» you forget you need are located right near the registers. Thank God Ulta has arrived in this area! I’m a huge fan and will be a constant customer. Sephora be damned!!! Ulta is in town!

I typically love Ulta stores so when they opened one in my hometown I was really excited. I went in yesterday with my family an the store itself looks typical and great. However, I have never seen a more disgusting bathroom! There is absolutely no excuse for the muddy dirt all over the floor and literally piles of hair all over the floor! The plunger and toilet brush were out in te open the counter was filthy and the brand new walls had dirt marks all over them. It was so gross I even took pics to show my sister! I told y sister about it in line and then realized the girl in front of me was an employee. She never said a word, didn’t concern herself at all. I overheard her tell the cashier and the cashier simply said«oh ya well they brought kids into Ulta» Are kids not allowed? This is a new store so I assume they have yet to train their staff but their lack of initiative and lack of attention to the stores condition is really disappointing
