While right in the heart of downtown Petaluma, many folks miss this jewel! The 4,000+ foot art center is literally and figuratively at the«crossroads»(its logo, brand and moniker) right next to the railroad track between Washington Street and D Street(next to the Tourist Center). Literally, the PAC is the hub between people and art — lots of exciting art exhibits that regularly change. Right now their awesome Eames show is getting lots of buzz featuring the revolutionary masters of design(think the Herman Miller«Aeron» chair, etc.) Ray and Charles teach us how to stimulate our playful, creative juices to make functional masterpieces that also encompass the artistic and aesthetic elements of their works and individual expression. No wonder movers and shakers from«Burning Man» and the San Francisco Exploratorium have been holding meeting seminars at the Petaluma Arts Center to celebrate the Eames show. But wait… there’s more! After several more awesome show, this summer the PAC will be featuring none other than the sketches and collection of the nineteenth century Master, Edgar Degas — THEFRENCHIMPRESSIONIST, not to be missed!!! In the interim, I can’t wait to see«The Art of Rock and Roll» with rarely seen Beatles photos along with posters of yesteryear and photos of legendary rockers and their photographers for the 60s and 70s. Then there’s the Youth«Art Shapes the World,» the«All That Glitters» collection of fine art and jewelery, «Black Lives Matter» on social justice, etc. So much to see, so little time…
