Friendly’s Gas

Winding down a 3 week road trip throughout the southwest, midwest and back home to the Pacific northwest, we stopped in Percival, Iowa for gas, restroom break and a quick bite to eat.
Wow, we were really impressed with this particular stop! The service station was pretty basic, but when we stepped inside the store, we forgot we were at a gas station/​convenience store. First off, the bathrooms were clean clean clean, I mean, sparkly clean. The floors, counters, bathroom stalls were gleaming. I don’t know if this is a new facility, but I have never seen such clean bathrooms at a roadside stop, I mean it was cleaner than most restaurants I visit.
The market/​gift shop was equally sparkling, and carried a huge variety of cold drinks, snacks, beer, wine and gifts/​souvenirs. There is a Subway restaurant inside the mart, and a Taco stand. The staff for the mart and restaurants were courteous, efficient and very helpful.
I was so impressed with this establishment, I had to write a review to support their business. When traveling on I-​29, this is one of those pleasant stops for gas, food and restroom break.
