I’ve eaten here before and it was good, probably a 3 or 4 star restaurant. Something was off on this outing. My girlfriend and I ordered crab rangoons, pad see ewe, and yellow chicken curry — both spicy level one. The last time I ate here level 1 was VERY hot but manageable. This occurrence it wasn’t hot at all. There should be some consistency in the spicyness level, this was a change by a factor of 10. I love Thai food spicy and this unexpected mild level was disappointing. The pad see ewe was very meh. The chicken looked funky to the point that she was afraid to eat it and she mentioned the noodles were slimy. The yellow curry was good. The crab rangoons, that I have read rave reviews about on Unilocal, were awful. They don’t look like the pictures I’ve seen on Unilocal so maybe someone new was working or they changed their recipe? I would equate them to mini taco shells with 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture in them to the point where you couldn’t taste it. Overall, very disappointing. I’ll most likely end up coming back though because it’s literally my only Thai option in Peoria. What a shame.

Thai Thyme is one of my favorite restaurants in Peoria. They make food based off spice levels that you can choose. Perfect for those who enjoy good old spicy food. The fried rice is very flavorful, along with other menu items. If you’re downtown, I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Loved the food. The service was great and the quality and variety of food offered very in keeping with a small restaurant. Prices for what you received were also very good.

Thai Tyme nearly saved my life on a trip in Illinois. After an early morning flight, I was running behind and had no time to eat. When we landed in Peoria we were ravenous, so my boyfriend and I hurried to the nearest delicious sounding restaurant. Enter: Thai Tyme. This hole in the wall Thai Joint is located across from the local university. We hurried in the door and found the place was very aesthetically underwhelming and was totally empty at lunch. There was very little on the walls and we found the place quite bland in the décor. Luckily, we weren’t there to judge décor, we were there to eat as soon as possible. I ordered the Red Curry with tofu with a spice level of 2⁄3. B ordered the Chicken Pad Thai with a 1⁄3 spice level. The servers kept our waters filled and our food came out quickly. Mine was spicy and had great flavor. Some of the tofu was overcooked, but I didn’t mind. B enjoyed his food as well. I like the food just fine, but there may be better options in the area.

I combed through a few of the reviews and I’m sure we can all agree that the Pad See Ew was not the best. The noodles lacked flavor and the whole thing was a bit too watery for me. Usually with this dish you add some spice to it. Hot sauce should be standard, perhaps it was forgotten in the delivery. Instead of white styrofoam containers, maybe use sealed ones instead? The bag oozed with condensation and sauce. It made quite a mess, again probably due to the sloshing around during delivery. The crabmeat rangoons were ok. I had my order delivered via . Delivery was prompt, a little late but whatever. It’s snowing out, I didn’t mind. Probably won’t order from here again unless it is to try the fried rice I’ve been reading about. I had high hopes. Oh well :(

Not happy at all and I believe I got shitty food since it was a take away that was delivered by a 3rd party delivery service hence I couldn’t see what I was getting until it arrived at my home. Anyways, here’s my review on the«food» I paid $ 55(delivery fee + tip) for. I ordered Mus-Mun Curry(pork), Larb(chicken), Khao Pad(tofu) and the Combination Platter that consisted of 2 Chicken Sa-Tay, 3 Egg Rolls, 4 Crab Rangoon, and 4 Tod Mun Pies. The Mus-Mun Curry(pork): The soup part with the spices and flavors were done well. However everything else was not. The meat they used was the kind you find in American Chinese restaurants that’s pounded flat to make it look like you’re getting more and to save the restaurant money and also render’s the meat rubbery. The potatoes were not done all the way through but the other veggies were mushy. I’m guessing since I ordered after dinner hours and closer to closing time I got the remains of the day and they just added more potatoes at the last minute. Saved the soup and added my own veggies the next day for lunch. Larb(chicken): I know some recipes can have ground chicken or chunk and/or finely mince chicken but what I got was the same pounded flat chicken you find in American Chinese restaurants only it was cut up in little rectangles that could have passed as cat food. The rest of it, the spices and veggies like the shallots, mint, onions, cilantro etc tasted great and fresh but that meat ruined it. Ate a few bites but the chicken turned me off so bad I trashed the rest. Khao Pad(tofu): The tofu was dark brown and greasy soggy. The rice was dark and had a ton of black bits in it like it was scraped off the bottom of a cast iron skillet. The«mixed vegetables» were nothing more than frozen peas and carrots with a little green onion thrown in. There was maybe one egg scrambled into it all with and was very bland. Had a few bites then trashed it. No way to salvage it. Combination Platter: Chicken Sa-Tay: This was the best part of the meal. Even though it tasted good it wasn’t nothing special if you had it before. They didn’t use pounded flat chicken for the Sa-Tay and I wish they used this meat in the larb. You can definitely taste the difference. Egg Rolls: Greasy and old tasting. Again I felt like I got the left overs since I ordered after dinner. The stuff that had either been sitting out for hours or cooked in burnt grease. Ate one tossed the other 2. Crab Rangoon: Like the egg rolls they were greasy and old tasting. They were also dark brown and look nothing like the pics other customers had taken. Ate 2. Tossed 2. Tod Mun Pies: I’ve had these several times before in other Thai restaurants and know they are suppose to be small but these were tiny like the size of a poker chip and looked like they were pounded flat to make them look bigger. They were fried so thin and long that they tasted more like a fish potato chip. They were also very very dark brown and not the regular reddish-brown they usually are. Ate one and tossed the rest. I tried calling the restaurant but either got a busy signal or it went to a voice mail/answering machine. I guess they don’t care much for the customers who order out. Only the ones who eat in. Anyways, I’m never ordering from them or eating there again.

Great Thai food. We never find anyplace that is hot enough. This is the hot we’ve been looking for.

I like this Thai food restaurant. One of the owns seems not from Thailand, while the food is very good, especially the spring roll, yellow fried rice chicken. The location of the restaurant is within walking distance to Bradley University.

I had the yellow curry fried rice chicken, and I must say it was delicious. They give you a good portion for your money. Customer service was great also.

The staff was really friendly. As someone who has friends of Thai descent the ambiance and setting was anything but Thai. But down to brass tacks the food… I ordered the Tom Yum soup and it was a horrible attempt. Thai hot and sour soup that was sweet? There was no kaffir lime or chili’s in the bowl. And then the entrée arrived Chicken Thai Basil. It was sweet just like the soup with no spice… And this is gonna sound blasphemous but I had to add soy sauce to it just to eat it. It may be an attempt at Thai food but is everything but authentic.

Such a delicious restaurant! So far I’ve tried the Pad See Ewe, spring rolls, pad thai, and dumplings. They have 3 spice levels. As a lover of spicy food I thought I was ready to try level 2 spicy for one of my dishes. Lol I quickly realized I am not ready for level 2 and paid for my decision for a couple of days. Level 1 is perfect for me. The flavor of their food is amazing and they have the best dumplings I’ve ever had.

Ordered takeout here while in town for work. I almost always order pad see-ewe from Thai restaurants if they have it, so I was happy to see it was on the menu. This dish is amazing when the rice noodles are just right, and this place nails it! The veggies were crispy and the sauce was delish. I had intended to save half of the crabmeat rangoons for the next day — not going to happen. Overall, a great place for casual Thai in Peoria.

The owners seemed nice and the spring rolls were delicious. I ordered the pad thai to-go and said not to make it very spicy(a 1 out of 3). Unfortunately, I waited until I got back to my hotel room to eat it. The food is so hot I can’t even look at it. My mouth feels like I ate hot coals smothered in gasoline and lit them on fire with a blowtorch. Do other people like to sweat heavily while they eat? I called them to see if they could re-make it tomorrow since they close in five minutes, but they said they could not do anything for me. It looks like this is the only thing I can do! I love Thai food but since I’m a pansy and can’t handle the heat, I will stay away for my taste buds’ sake.

This place is fantastic. Pumpkin curry is my favorite, but everything is good here! Soups are great, and so are the appetizers. Service is very fast and polite. Meals are usually under ten bucks and ready within 10 – 15 minutes of calling it in. I hope this place stays open forever!

I had the pad see eww, and it was not great at all. It wasn’t that flavoraful as I thought it would be. I’m originally from Southern California so I wasn’t really expecting spectacular thai food in the midwest, but I thought this dish could have been way better than what it actually was. Also, there was a ton of carrots which was disporportionate with everything else in the dish. I also had the vegetable fried rice which was a lot better than the pad see eww dish. The fried rice had a great smokey flavor and seasoned perfectly.

We are always on the hunt for a good Thai restaurant in every city we go, and this qualifies as a good Thai restaurant. My wife’s family owns a couple Thai restaurants, so she sets the bar pretty high and she was also quite satisfied everything. I would recommend fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce to get your palette ready for the meal. Delicious and fresh! Next, you can’t go wrong with a little papaya salad to spice things up a bit before settling on your entrée. I went with Pad Thai, kids had Pad Kee Meo, and my wife at some assorted other dishes of which I don’t know the names — sorry! The food is half eaten in the pics, sorry about that. Couldn’t resist digging in.

Excellent, authentic Thai food. Bring your taste buds! You enter into what looks like a blacked-out space from the outside — don’t let that deter you. Inside is sparse, but clean. They have no liquor license, so keep that in mind(you can always go next door to One World for a digestif afterwards!). So, all of that aside, you’re coming here for the food, so who cares about the looks of the place as long as it’s clean(which it is), and serves good food — which it most certainly does. I have been to Thailand a few times, for extended periods, up to several months, and have eaten a lot of food there. Thai Thyme hits it out of the park. Expect it to be hot, as in little red/green chili pepper type of hot. They serve on a Level 1 through Level 3 rating system. Level 1 was pretty tasty, I can’t imagine eating Level 3. All dishes can be made to this rating, and I heard the owner saying that they can ratchet it down below Level 1 if you’re uncomfortable — Thai people are so nice! I’d say try Level 1 the first time you go — if it’s too much, then next time you know what to do. Otherwise, if you’re fine with it being hot, no problems, crank it up. But Thai food is not all about hot. The flavors that are brought out by the use of other ingredients are quite fresh and refreshing — no bland, cloying cheese and dough and oil and dairy stuff here. Fresh vegetables and meat, cooked quickly, with interesting taste profiles and lots of variety. If you know Thai food, you should like this place. If you don’t know it, give it a shot from Thai Thyme, as it is a genuine Thai restaurant. Enjoy!

If you can’t take the heat, then stay away from Thai cuisine. No spice = Not Thai. The food here outshines the atmosphere. The location is somewhere between One World Café and Thanh Linh. You have to admit, to be located so close to Thanh Linh, a personal favorite of mine, indicates that this place has got balls. The menu pays direct homage to authentic Thai cuisine and tastes phenomenal. Everything I ordered and tasted at my most recent visit was absolutely delicious. I tried the Chicken Panang(Red Sweet) Curry, Pork Tom Kha Soup, Beef Pad Thai, and Thai Iced Tea, all of which were Level 1 Spicy(minus the drink, obviously). I highly recommend any of these items. Just beware of the Spice Level. There are 3 Spice levels, even Level 1 has quite a kick. Level 3 is considered Thai Spicy, which roughly translates to suicidal for the average American taste bud. Thai Tyme not only has their taste game on pointe, their ingredient game is also on pointe. All the vegetables tastes fresh and looks invigorating, leaving you salivating with every bite. I wouldn’t be surprised if this place uses only the freshest ingredients and no added MSG or any other nonsense ingredients. I say this because I usually feel the side effects after eating certain foods(especially Asian foods). I didn’t experience that with this place. Even hours after my meal, I had no sign of a headache, sleepiness, or excessive thirst. Go ahead, give this place a try. My only tip is to order a sweet drink to go hand-in-hand with your meal. Your tongue will thank you later.

A spur of the moment trip out on an empty stomach led me here. I basically got out of my car, and spun in a circle with my arm pointing out, and wherever I stopped was the place I would eat. The restaurant had opened only a week before I stopped in. Atmosphere: New paint and floors, tables, etc. Not much décor yet. Entrance was a bit difficult, with two doors leading right into the service station.(this can be an issue if people are coming in while a group is checking out). Kitchen entrance and bathrooms at the rear of the restaurant. Service: Attentive, helpful and friendly. Drinks were offered immediately, and refills consistent. Appetizer and entrée served very quickly, even with 4 other tables ordering. Food: During the initial visit, I ordered a Spring Rolls appetizer. Honestly one of the best spring rolls I have ever had. Served cold with an excellent house sauce. Fantastic ingredient proportions leading to a well balanced taste.(shrimp, pork, lettuce, bean sprouts, cilantro, cucumber shreds, and vermicelli. Garnished with carrot strips) My entrée was also fantastic, and very difficult to choose with all of the menu options. The selection is not overwhelming, but so enticing with the variety of available flavors. I ended up going with the«Royal Cashew» with chicken, AKA Cashew Chicken. HOLYSMOKES — it was amazing. Served with rice, the stir friend blend of chicken, cashews, and vegetables was a true MOUTHPARTY!!! The carrots were deliciously soft, and the peppers cooked just enough to absorb flavors and remain slightly crunchy. The bamboo shoots were tender and slim, adding to the heartiness of the dish. Peapods? Yes please. Excellent crunch and freshness. Mushrooms were spectacular too, since they were cut to a smaller size and blended in. Two things to improve upon — provide more rice with the main dish, and add napkins to the table.
