Spirit of Peoria

One of the best Riverboat Cruises you’ll ever go on! Great food, Great staff, Great entertainment, and reasonably priced. The Land of Lincoln Cruise was the most informative and relaxing. The Illinois River is gorgeous! This is a trip you CANNOT miss!

Our oldest son and his wife took my wife and I on the boat in July 2013. I suppose it’s never too late to compliment something or someone. Considering the ride, the food, and drink were free, how could we complain? We raised our kids right.
I was born and raised in Pekin so have been on, in, and around the Illinois River many times. Still we couldn’t take our eyes off the scenery along both sides. What made it fun after being away for years was trying to figure out where we were as we went up river.
A very nice and relaxing trip ending at Joe’s Crab Shack. Together this made a great and memorable cruise. Hope to do it again soon.

The Spirit of Peoria is here in Louisville Kentucky for the riverboat celebration.. We took a dinner cruise last night. What a great trip. I have to say that the food was good with pork loin, salad, pasta and dessert. But the staff was amazing and very personable. The captain was very friendly and welcoming. They had a bourbon punch cocktail that was awesome! The lady that made it visited with us quite a bit and explained that she had been working there 21 years. We will definitely go again.

Free parking in the deck next door to the dock on weekends and after 5 weekdays.
The sound system was not great — could not hear much of the captain’s commentary. The cruise itself is a nice, relaxing way to spend a few hours. We did the daily cruise (1 ½ hours).

Spirit of Peoria is a very pretty boat kept in good repair — staff was friendly, the live music was playing good stuff, and the cruise goes up the Illinois River and is quite scenic — posted some pictures of it. Everyone was having a good time, and I had some interesting conversations with strangers, can’t ask for anything more!
(I did just a 2 hour sightseeing cruise, check out their website — they do multiday cruises to a nature preserve in central IL and down to St. Louis — entertainment and food all inclusive, pretty pricey but it sounds like a good time)

One of my very good friends had her wedding and reception on the Spirit of Peoria. We all had a very good time. They got married in the upstairs part of the boat and it was a beautiful ceremony. Then on the main floor of the boat, they had appetizers and a bunch of other little finger foods and wedding cake of course. They had a free bar in the back. Usually you would have to pay for drinks but I guess one of the families was covering that, which is really nice. I thought the boat was really nice. There was an area on the top of the ship where you could go and sit down and enjoy the nice day on the river. You could also go behind the boat and look at the big wheel that helps propel it. If I was going to get married or someone asked me what would be a nice venue for a wedding, I would certainly suggest that they have their wedding on the Spirit of Peoria if they like boats. My boyfriend and I were kind of talking about having ours at Starved Rock Lodge near Utica though. I want to go on this boat again in the future sometime though so I’m going to look into what they charge for a day out on the boat eventually.

I am going to be nice… I thought I will take my big sis from Germany on the spirit of Peoria.
We wait it in the hot sun no shade, nothing to stand under while waiting to get on the boat (Older People).
After we got on the boat and found a place to sit we thought we need it some cold to drink so I wend upstairs where they sell all that stuff… was standing in line and as I was waiting in line I heard him (only one working with all does people) say that you need the correct change because his boss has not come back with any money yet, lol
I thought are you kidding me .
We got water for free, that was great, ty again.
This is not the way you run a business .
I would add some ice cream for the kids that are on the boat or even some hot dogs of some kind, they could make more business, oh plus the boat was only on the river once that day on a holiday weekend come on, is it just us that think that way or what!!! They had a history tape running over the speakers could not understand a word about the history of the river in Peoria.
People who have a business really need to look into there business a little harder, so sad.
