I went to Nail & Spa when my normal place was too busy. I walked in and someone yelled that they would help me from the back(while working on another person). As I sat and waited, I looked at how run down and poorly maintained the shop was. Evidently, I waited far too long; my anxiety about cleanliness was so high that I finally got up and walked out. I decided that waiting for my salon was a much safer choice.

This place was really not very good. The lady working on my nails was quite nice and I had no issue with her. However, the polish they used was not of any good quality. I can’t remember the name but it was not OPI. Also, it must have been old polish as I could see the«strings» every time the technician dipped the brush into the polish. Within a day, the polish was chipping and cracking all over the place. I also did not like how they filed my nails down — they did not follow the natural shape of my nails. To top it all off, the manicure I got was overpriced for the quality. I received a French manicure and had to pay $ 20(not including tip). Normally, I pay $ 12 – 15 for these types of manicures and they last much longer than this one. Needless to say I will not go back to this place. I hope to find a better nail salon in Peoria.

While visiting Peoria I needed to get my nails done quickly and saw this place in a shopping center as I was driving by so I decided to make a pit stop. The staff was friendly, however that is about the only good thing I can say about this place(which got them 2 stars instead of 1). The nail polish selection was terrible, all of the polishes were old and they didn’t carry a many good brands. Their techniques were also highly un-sanitary. They still use callus scrapers and do not thoroughly cleanse them after each use. They really did not appear to be correctly sanitizing any of their tools in fact. The whole place kind of seemed like a health code violation waiting to be discovered. In addition, my manicure chipped pretty quickly. Probably because they were using thinned out polishes that were old. And to top it off it was $ 38 for a manicure/pedicure which is a lot more than I pay to go to a nicer place back home. I could not wait to get home to go back to my nail place!
