I totally concur with the review Basha T gave. I have, unfortunately, gone to Shrimp Basket only twice-Davis Hwy and 9 Mile-so I can’t speak for the other many locations, but as for me, I will never go again. I hate the taste and the stingy portion of fries. I had a white lettuce heart core on my Po Boy. Besides, sand or grit in a shrimp. The tiny shrimp taste like they came from the grocery store shelf out of a can or something. Disgusting ambiance and food! It’s too bad they have soooooo many locations, as you WILL be tempted to pull over and eat there one day. DON’T DOIT!!!

Ordered the grilled whitefish platter — tastes like it had been sautéed hours earlier. Not good. Had house salad — lettuce was cut into long strips. With no knife to cut into smaller pieces, it was frustrating. Had a cup of gumbo– guess it sits in crock pot all week — not good. Skeleton crew working. Service was lacking. They need to refocus on their food quality and customers. When the whole platter comes back, you should notice! I’d pass on this one for a while– they have a lot to re do.

I’m not only giving a review for the 9 Mile location but also the Davis Hwy Shrimp Basket. A few weeks ago I met a girlfriend on a day where they had all you can eat steamed shrimp. Today I went for the all you can eat fried fish. The one thing they’ve been consistent with is how stingy they are during the all you can eat. I’m not a buffet person and I’m also not into the«all you can eat,» but if I do go for something, you can bet that I’m up for it. On the all you can eat shrimp, the second helping was 6 shrimp on a plate and it wasn’t as good as the original order. With the fried fish, they came out with two small pieces for the second helping. This all you can eat by Shrimp Basket is just a marketing strategy to get you in there to order other stuff because they don’t deliver on the ALLYOUCANEAT, that’s for sure.

This isn’t your high-end seafood restaurant, but the food is not bad. I recommend sticking to the baskets of fried fish. If your looking for healthy. Go somewhere else.

Shrimp was average at best. Very very small and not all were deveined. Even though i ordered grilled, the potatoes were swimming in butter. Also can’t take anything to go(in a box) if you do all you can eat, which is silly. There has got to be better, healthier fish. We are so close to water!

Was very unimpressed with the amount of talk I heard about The Shrimp Basket. Long wait, and food was mediocre at best. I thought I would get more food, for the price I paid for it. Overpriced, we will never return.
