Honestly? I don’t have anything bad to say about this place. I’ve visited anywhere around a dozen times in the past decade. Each time the food is great, and I leave happy. I go in knowing the prices are high for a typical dinner; it’s more of a special occasion type of place. We often choose to forgo the meat course and stick to the cheese and chocolate. I have no complaints about the staff at this place. In fact, I have had more complaints about unruly patrons than I have about the staff. One time a group of friends and I were sat next to a large birthday celebration and were very disappointed with the noise level. The waitstaff graciously allowed us to move across the restaurant away from the very boisterous group.

…this place got me started off on wrong foot. Had reservations for 8:45pm, wasn’t seated until a little after 9pm so why make reservations? We did the 4 course meal that consisted of cheese fondue, salad, meat course, and chocolate for $ 35 a person. I’ve been here a few times but for some reason this time was a bit less enjoyable. I pretended I was at a korean bbq joint(Pensacola doesn’t have a korean bbq joint) while we did our fondue. Eh, my imagination didn’t help. Service was mediocre, hostess barely managed a smile. I doubt I will be back here, Que sera, sera.

This place is awful! I wish I could give it zero stars. The hostess that work there are so pretentious and could care less about customer service. The parking lot spaces are so tiny that you have to squeeze into the spaces. Apparently they have extra parking at Sammy’s which they don’t advertise. Wait staff is good, however the service received by the hostess is such a turn off and ruins the entire experience. This restaurant wants to make like they are high end, but in reality they are a dumpy low class place who wants to charge high end prices. Honestly, I don’t see how this place stays in business. We won’t be attending again.

My husband and I just had our anniversary dinner here. Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent food. They even prepared a single rose in a vase for me to take home(minor charge to my husband, but a really nice touch for a special occasion). The owner greeted us when we went in and when we left he was not in the lobby, but came out to the parking lot to make sure we had a good time. Great experience!

This was my first time going to the melting pot. It was different than what I expected but an interesting dining experience. The atmosphere was nice and the wait staff was outstanding. I wasn’t expecting to boil my own raw food in broth… for some reason I expected the food would be cooked for me and I’d dip it in different sauces. It was more of a light novelty dinner than a satisfying meal. Expect a modest $ 100 meal for two that doesn’t quite fill you up. It was a unique experience that I’m glad I tried but honestly I can’t imagine doing it again. I prefer to have my meals cooked for me when I go out to dinner… its kind of the whole point in «going out».

The Melting Pot is a culinary experience from beginning to finish. We have gone to several of their special dinners, ex: Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and during the Christmas season and have never been disappointed. You will want to book yourself as busy for a few hours. The meal is truly an ‘event’. It’s a really good time, with a dimly lit atmosphere and is perfect for a date night, or just an evening out with family and/or friends. We always walk away completely stuffed and feel like it was money well spent.

Nice clean place, very friendly staff… but I was a little disappointed with the food. I thought it was just ok. A very small selection of cheeses for a fondue place, we were limited to just one at a time(party of two)… and the selection of dipping items was not anything to be impressed with.

Gross. Vegetables boiled in blood. How can u pay this kind of money to cook your own food? And it doesn’t even taste good. NEVERAGAIN.

I was disappointed! I had been wanting to try this restaurant, so when friends invited us to celebrate a birthday there I was happy to go. It was quiet and nice enough. The waiter was nice and helpful but he did disappear once or twice. The problem was the food… a few pieces of raw meat that you cook yourself by boiling in the pot of broth. The steak was good, but there were only like 3 small pieces, the chicken was not good at all, didn’t even look like chicken and had a really weird texture. Since it had to be boiled for different time periods we used our phone timers to gauge when done… hard to even talk when cooking your own food in such a manner. My husband and I both left hungry and the meal was expensive. The cheese fondue was OK, the chocolate was good but for the money, not a great experience.

I love this restaurant! This was the first time my family has ever been to a Melting Pot. From the start, my family and I felt welcome and appreciated. The owner and our waiter(Curtis) was very kind and put you before themselves. Curtis never made us feel awkward or stupid in anyway and was always happy to help, serve, and explain. I personally had the steak lover’s entrée and it was SO tasty. The cheese fondue was really good and the salad was excellent!(And I never eat salads out) we got the pure chocolate fondue at the end and it was amazing! They brought me out a special celebration dipping platter with a candle because this was my birthday/graduation dinner! I will definitely being returning.

This was our first melting pot experience and the food was fabulous! Loved all of the dipping sauces and the smores chocolate for dessert. The French Quarter meall was amazing! Our waiter, Curtis, was very nice as well. The only issue we had was worth their young hostess. She was very rude and seemed stuck up, even rolling her eyes after she told one couple there were no more tables. Other than that it was a perfect and romantic atmosphere and experience.

Absolutely delicious meal from start to finish. I had the Sam Adams hand crafted shandy trio. My favorite was the black cherry. I ordered off of the seasonal menu. The cheese was a brisket cheddar and omg it was sooooo good! I almost stuck with a basic cheese, and I’m so glad I didn’t. The entrée portion was a lobster broil type fondue. All very fresh and flavorful. It had potatoes, corn and andouille sausage in the broth and then came with an assortment of seafood. I stuck with my old faithful dark chocolate fondue for dessert. Every time I dine at The Melting Pot I’m blown away by the service and quality. I’m totally going back before this special menu ends!

Major tipping scam! They AUTOMATICALLY added an 18 percent gratuity to our bill and then had the nerve to ‘suggest’ ANOTHER15/20/25% OVER the 18% ALREADY billed on the credit card receipt. Do they really expect me to tip 18 percent PLUS another 20 percent ??? That’s nuts. I probably would have gone 20 percent overall, but since they tried to ‘sneak’ in the 18 percent PLUS another gratuity, I just left it at that. I wanted to speak to the manager about this, but he ‘wasn’t available’. We won’t be back. Service was OK, food not worth the $.

The server didn’t leave a tray for us to fish out the main course which tasted bad anyway. It was way over priced, even with a groupon, and the service was sub par. The chocolate fondue was great though-should have just ordered that.

I have never been, but my sister and her husband got engaged there, heard great things, and saw a groupon so I decided why not. In order to use the groupon I had to make a reservation, «630pm table for 4,» no problem. Day comes two of the four of us are able to make it on time. Once we arrive they ask if I want to sit and wait or wait for everyone to arrive to be seated. «Seat us please,» to the table we go. Since it was the first time we’d been there we read the menu a few times, then asked the waiter to explain it all to us. The waiter we had must have been new or something because he was so terrible it was amusing. We decided not to order until everyone arrived. During our wait we were asked multiple times if we wanted to order the cheese while we waited, «no thank you» no refills on the drinks… however he did find time to interrupted our conversation a few times to let us know how bad he felt that we were waiting, even the manager stopped by. I’ve never felt so rushed while waiting for others to arrive. Finally, everyone arrived and things began to run more smoothly. With the groupon the menu is pre-set with your choice of salad and broth, the meat was chicken, fillet mignon, and shrimp. We ordered the Coq Au Vin broth, which was awesome. We decided to order one plate of desert which was delicious and enough for four. All in all three stars, however the melting pot prices seem a little crazy to attend without a groupon.

I have been coming to Melting Pot for over 15 years and tonight I came for a meeting sponsored by a local attorney. From start to finish it was a disaster. Maddy the hostess left us standing in the front lobby for over 20 mins. She never had the common sense to go tell the meeting organizer that additional attendees were here. Pitiful! Then after the speaker, the salads finally came after waiting 10 mins. They should have timed it better with the speaker since this was the second week of having meetings here. There was like 1 server working 7 tables. You know it’s bad when the hostess start trying to help out. The dessert OMG it took them 31 mins to get everyone their pot… Again it was only 7 tables. I was horrified for the people who came and this was their first time coming to the Melting Pot. Terrible experience and an embarrassment for those of us who recommend the MP to others!

Just ok. We wanted to take our teens out someplace special during vacation, so I purchased a groupon for this place. The groupon was supposed to have saved us around $ 60, but I’m pretty sure they made the portions much smaller to compensate. Groupon included, we spent close to $ 100 for a small salad 4 shrimp, about 2 ounces of chicken and 2 ounces of steak a piece we got to dip in broth. Nothing spectacular about boiled meat in my opinion. We left hungry. Great place if you want a $ 100 appetizer.

Three stars because I had a horrible experience here and a good one. The last one was good, other than one not so bright manager who wasn’t smart phone savvy, bless his heart. We were a large party, all ordered 4 course, everything came out nicely. There was a white chocolate crème brûlée fondue that was blow your mind good– everyone at the table thought so. The rest of the fondue was typical, but it was fun, and it is an event– 3.5 hours but lots of wine and champagne and laughter. If you sign up for their email whatever it’s called, there is a free chocolate covered strawberry coupon which we used two(this is where the not so smart manager came in, but it worked out). We took the strawberries home, they were really good.
