Awesome doughnuts! Friendly staff as always. It’s hard to pass them up when I’m on my run. Even the coffee is great. Anything and everything is always good here. Cool local spot for sure.

I just moved from Ohio to Pensacola and I’m trying to find a fantastic donut shop. The price is affordable, the staff is very friendly, and the donuts are ok. The glazed donut, or honey dip, tasted more like a cinnamon donut than a glazed/honey dip. I was disappointed in the selection. My son loves the cream filled donuts, but I was told they are only available on Sundays. I can’t say I would never eat another donut from this bakery, but I’ll keep looking for a better shop.

I have been buying donuts for the office at J’s for about three years. The shop is a good old fashioned bakery with no garish colors, no attempt to be «trendy». It’s like the bakery my dad took me to on Saturday morning, when I was a kid. The donuts are superb. They are really high quality, traditional raised donuts with a perfect amount of glaze. There are two national chain donut stores nearby, and I wouldn’t think of showing up at the office with those. J’s are the best in town, hands down; and they are just over five bucks a dozen. I would have given them 5 stars if I could just get a cup of regular coffee to take with me. They do sell some Cuban coffee, which is fine, but I would like it if they would also offer regular drip coffee. But, don’t let my coffee snobbery put you off(heck, we have a Kuerig at the office-I’m not missing anything). Treat yourself to the best donuts in town! I know they are good — I’m feeding them to cops!

These folks know how to make Bön Bons, strong java and an assortment of other sweet treats. If you have a sweet tooth, stop in a feast your eyes and stomach with their goodies!

Have to spend a minimum of $ 5 when using your card. Good doughnuts not too sweet like Krispy Kreme.

We were so happy to have found this bakery. We moved here from the west coast and were anxious to find a nice, family, bakery. We have enjoyed so many of their baked goods, we also had a special cake made for our daughter, it was delicious! The lamb cake was a hit this Easter!

So they used to be great. My own baby shower cake was from there so needless-to-say it was a family staple. That being said… New owners. I think they’re trying to skimp like many taker-overers do. If I lower the bar a little bit it’s really decent and reliable, just not what it once was.

I came here to get something sweet after lunch at City Grocery and was overwhelmed by all of the delicious options! Cinnamon rolls the size of my head, bear claws as big as my arm! After getting some advice from a frequent customer, I had to try one of their famous«Devil Dogs» OMG! It was rich, indulgent, and simply amazing. Chocolate cake, thick buttercream icing, all dipped in chocolate; these satisfy the strongest sweet tooth! I also ordered a s’mores cake ball(dry and not good, hence the four star review) and a loaf of the cinnamon sugar breakfast bread – Absolutely wonderful! My husband ate the entire loaf in just a few days.(Heat in the oven and spread with butter!) When I paid, the lady informed me they don’t take credit cards for orders under $ 10. My face was shocked, not because of their credit policy but because I could not believe all of that food was only $ 6.50!!! What a deal!!! We will definitely be back on days that call for a sweet treat!

We just ordered our co-workers cake from here… ummmm yeah… I dont think I would ever order anything from here. It was a cute cake, nicely decorated, but it was VERYVERRRRRRRY dry. Ive had better cakes from Walmart or Publix. I imagine it tasted like the 100 year old cake Mr. Peterman bought that Elaine ate on an episode of «Seinfeld» that belonged to King Edward VIII who renounced the throne to marry the twice divorced American socialite, Wallis Simpson. No bueno… My boss says they are usually good, so maybe I will try them again… one day.

I love J’s! I grew up not far from this bakery in East Hill and their cakes and pastries are a fond childhood memory. I love their cake! I love love love their frosting!(It’s not for you if you don’t like really sweet frosting). As some other reviews have noted, their petit fours are really good. Their cheese danishes are amazing! They are the cheese danishes that I judge all other cheese danishes by. As a result, I have had to stop eating other cheese danishes because none of them could even come close to how good J’s is. I live on the other side of the country now, but almost every time I’m back in town I have something from J’s(usually cake).

J’s is a landmark in Pensacola, and its great to see the bakery returning to its former glory. Definitely try the petit fours!

When I visited a month ago they were shutting down and either moving to a new location or renovating. I was disappointed because they didn’t have what I was hunting down… French Macarons.

We stopped by hoping to find cheesecake or carrot cake, but neither were available without special order. Most of the racks were empty, but it was late afternoon. The only things left were cookies, petit fours, and a few coffee cakes. I assume this is the type of place that you have to get to early in the morning to get the good stuff. After the woman behind the counter tried to sell us on a variety of coffee cakes, we settled for the cherry cheese coffee cake and it was good, but not good enough to go out of your way for it. I might be just as satisfied at Krispy Kreme next time I have a sweet tooth.

My favorite is Mexican Wedding. It has a lot of powdered sugar. We tried to buy some pastries, but I haven’t found anything else that I like.

Just a couple years ago this place would have gotten a five-star rating. I’m not entirely sure what happened. When we were first married, this place was the absolute best. Cookies were moist and full of sugary goodiness. From what I heard, it’s a local favorite to always stop by here and get the black&white cookies or the gingerbreadmen during Christmas. It was heresy to not indulge in this little family owned bakery. Unfortunately, the family sold to new management and new management likes it dry. I thought that it was a fluke or the fact that my husband was driving 8 hours to get the cookies to me. Now that we live here, we’ve been a couple times and the cookies are hit or miss. We’ve decided to completely forget about the chocolate bars, they’re always too dry. The prices have either gone up or stayed the same, but the portion got smaller. It’s hard with the economy, but be fair to your loyal clientele. Macaroons look exactly like the ones made at Hilton Head Cookie Factory, but taste like they were cooked to much. The service… impatient and borderline rude. Not outwardly rude, just ‘you’re a waste of my time, why am I even here still’ rude. Their words were polite, but the tone just wasn’t there. I wonder if their cakes are still the same, but not willing to fork out the money to see. Credit card can be used with $ 10+ purchases, not hard to do considering most cookies are .65+
