Another Pensacola institution. A lot of lure behind this place, either way they’ve made a seafood market very consumer friendly. You can go to buy seafood or other market items, eat a meal, drink wine or just hang out and watch the catch come in. Wonderful place!

Absolutely looooved it here. Huge fish market with just about every sea creature your heart desires. You can purchase it fresh and take it home or take it to the back counter and they can cook it up for you any way you like. They also have an awesome fresh sushi bar. Will come back next time I’m in Florida.

I came for the beignets and left happy. Got lemon and traditional and loved the lemon. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait. They are made fresh!

Go for the fresh fish, don’t go for the Sushi. Pros: Portions were large and good value if you are looking for volume Cons: Taste like supermarket sushi, Rice needs acid, fish was bland.

Buyer beware here, while on vacation we bought 2 pounds of frozen crawfish tails, got home and noticed they were from CHINA – Really Joe… They tasted really bad too. Just because you are buying from a fresh fish market make sure you read the package. Thought these would be local not from CHINA!!! On the plus side don’t miss the beignets shack out front. Very Yummy…

This place is AWESOME. Tons of fresh fish and shellfish. You name it and they’ve got it. When I walked in the first thing I noticed was that there was not a hint of fish smell. This means they have the freshest possible fish and keep the area extremely sterile. When grabbed some heads on shrimp and redfish. If we were cooking for more adventurous eaters we would have picked up some fish heads to make fish head curry. I mean they have it ALL. The fish mongers are very helpful and exhibit the traditional southern hospitality. They will steam or boil you purchases for you. We also picked up some excellent boudin from the frozen food section. There also a grocery section to pick up fine cheeses, sausages, and condiments or accompanying items you’ll need. Even a souvenir shop if you have to have a T shirt. The sushi restaurant was not up to my tastes but I’ve been ruined by multiple trips to Japan(the fish was fine but the rice wasn’t up to par). Sushi rookies seemed to enjoy their meals though. There’e a beignet truck outside making them to order. Also nice to walk around the building and check out all the shrimping/fishing boats. Plenty of parking.

Excellent! And very low key, old school restaurant. I had the fried shrimp and oyster platter. Some of the best fried oysters I’ve ever eaten. Perfect consistency IMO. Not too mushy. Friendly service and easy atmosphere.

I have been in the military for 20 years. I’ve lived all over this country and in Japan. I have never, and I mean never, seen a seafood shop like this. They have everything you need and more. It is always busy and always chaotic. When you go in, you’ll need to get a number, but be ready when your time comes. You must go. If only to hear Frank yell at the girls working the counter.

This place was awesome! I’m from Texas, so this was a must visit. Never before have I seen a super market with a line out the door! Bought some ribbon fish, some shrimp as well as some salmon. Never got to try the ribbon fish but the salmon and the shrimp were so fresh. As if just caught out of the ocean yesterday. They were also very generous portions as well. Don’t mind paying a little bit more for 10x more fresh seafood. Clam chowder was delicious, gumbo was delicious. Got some sushi, a rainbow roll, it was incredibly fat and fresh as well. Also they have a beignet stand outside, took a reaaaaaaaaaaally long time to make but those were good as well. A must see if you’re in Pensacola.

I’ve come here with my family on every vacation for a decade; we often end up stopping in multiple times during the trip. The seafood counter is fast and varied; I always start with the Royal Reds and then layer in whatever is fresh. The oysters have never steered me wrong, either. Slightly more expensive than the grocery store, but significantly fresher. Oh, and if the beignet stand in the front is open… worth the wait!!!

Bottom line up front: Do not come here for sushi. This review is mainly for the sushi bar in the back. 1) The sushi is just not that good or fresh tasting 2) When the«sushi chefs» were preparing it, they looked sad. Additionally, maybe because it was at the end of the day, when they were getting all the ingredients together, it was as if they were just pulling things out of storage containers stored in a fridge. It was unappealing and I say this because it was as if you’re really hungry and you don’t know what to eat so you look in the refrigerator and just see some cold cuts and cheese so just throw together everything quickly – that’s how it felt when they prepared my sushi rolls which were unimpressive. 3) Lastly, it was as if they just have the do-it-yourself home kits sushi makers and they are relying on the freshness of the fish(which wasn’t that fresh at the end of the day). Only come here for the fish market. I know this place has great reviews but don’t let it trick you, like it tricked me, into thinking that the sushi would be amazing. This might come as a surprise, but if you want good sushi, go to a place that specializes in it with Japanese people who look like they know what they’re doing. On the bright side, everything looked fresh/clean. They serve frog legs and I even saw a sign for some whale. I also liked the lobster tank. Eat somewhere else! For all fish needs, come to Joe Patti’s!

Amazing seafood here! We were told by a friend we had to visit this place. Luckily we just happened to drive by and we recognized the name. It taken take long to turn into their parking lot and go inside. The seafood counter is loaded with numerous varieties of fresh seafood. There’s just about everything in this place and lots of help to take care of the customers. If seafood is your thing and you like it fresh, this is the place. I had to check out the salmon, halibut, crabs, lobster and clams before we moved over to the cheese and other local specialties. Amazing and well worth even a special trip to visit. We will be back!

Joe Patti’s is a «MUSTGO» if you’re anywhere in the Pensacola area. It’s worth the hour drive if you’re in Golf Shores, too… Incredibly fresh seafood. Very fair prices. Unbelievable variety. If you’ve never been, this place will blow your mind. We usually go not having any idea what we’re going to buy, and leave with seafood for several meals. Iconic. Outstanding. The best. Great Italian gelato. The kids love it. The sushi bar was«so-so» at best. I’m sure the fish was fresh, but it was generally not very flavorful, and honestly was a letdown. But that’s the only letdown Joe Patti’s has ever given me.

Joe patti’s is magical! What a wonderful place. So much more than a fish market! While they have practically anything you could want fresh from the ocean, there’s a plethora of other goodies. A cheese section, fresh sushi, deli, fresh bread, homemade salads, dressings, jams, raw local honey, and more. And the prices are ridiculously low on everything. The items my boyfriend and I scored : –yellowfin tuna –Escolar white tuna –Toro(tuna belly) — halibut — smoked tuna dip — Joe patti’s «famous» shrimp salad –fresh french bread — butterkase cheese — Joe patti’s brand roasted garlic and parmesan salad dressing Haven’t tried everything yet, but what I have sampled is incredible. I’d recommend to absolutely anyone, tourists or locals.

It’s a great place to stop by and grab some really fresh seafood. The selection is phenomenal and the prices are unbelievably cheap. I was able to buy Royal Red Shrimps and toro, which were each less than $ 9/lb. The lines move really fast so it’s good to decide what you want first, then grab a number. After grabbing your seafood, head to the back to check out, and let them pack your seafood in ice. If you are buying and driving a distance, then dry ice is available for .99/lb with a 5lb minimum purchase. Oh, if you’re like me and can’t wait to eat your awesome seafood, then have them cook it! They will steam your shrimp or scallops with seasonings for free. What puts this market even more over the top are all the extra amenities like their: sushi stand, deli, bakery, gelato, and even a beignet cart in the front. Uhh, what?!? I was even surprised to see that they offered different types of pâté in their deli case. You bet I ordered some along with their freshly baked baguettes! Oh, for a quick lunch; I suggest you get a cup of their gumbo. It’s filled with tender shrimp and tasty sausage. This market has everything for a gourmet meal on a budget!

Online searches led me here and I wished I could’ve stayed longer and had access to a kitchen. Merely stepping outside my car brought the smells of the water and its catches carried via the wind. A glance at the crowded parking lot showed this place was no secret. LONGROWOFCATCHES The busiest area hands down is the seafood market – about 100 feet lining one side filled with fresh fish. People shouting orders, pointing out things, workers chopping up stuff… the other side has a deli, bakery, and coffee shop. Whether you’re at the Sushi station, or anywhere else, you order at the counter, get a receipt, then pay at the row of registers at the end. This process can be insanely slow – can there PLEASE be a register dedicated ONLY to non-seafood market orders? Oh. Perhaps I wasn’t understanding fully, but at the registers I think you can also tell the staff HOWYOUWANT your item cooked and they can season, steam, and have it ready for you. TASTINGTHEGOODS Since I was just on a road trip, I was merely there for the food. My Pensacola Sushi Roll was okay. Perhaps ‘Sauteed Tuna’ wasn’t the best seafood for inside. However glancing at other choices and viewing the goods behind the glass case revealed delicious, fresh looking Fish chunks. My Cappuccino was also smooth without just a hint of Caramel and Sugar. Great.

One of the best seafood markets I have ever been to! They have everything you could ever want that is seafood, along with a great deli, souvenirs, ice cream and freshly made beignets. The prices are very reasonable, seafood is so fresh but you can also get items that are frozen. Hot and fresh bread is available along with an area of canned and bottled goods. They also sell wine and you can get a 10% military discount. They provide plenty of ice for your purchases to take them home. Great big parking lot and definitely the place to get your seafood and miscellaneous items. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. You can also sign up to get emails on discounts and specials.

If you find yourself in Pensacola ya gotta visit this place and hope you have access to a stove or grill(I did not boo) all kinds of fish and seafood is here. Head on or off, what count, different sizes and even fillets are to be had. Forget something, produce is available both in the market and a tent out front(which I found prices rather steep). I was craving crawfish which why I was there and was not disappointed and left with three pounds of Egyptian Crawfish already cooked(still warm) and plenty spicy. If your not sure ask for one try it you will like it. Soups are available too in three different sizes and left with some amazing Clam Chowder. This is a big market selling everything from fresh bread, salads, smoked fish, Boars head meat and cheeses and even olive oil. Don’t want to cook there is a restaurant, it is the big blue building in the back and to the right.
