After searching for about five minutes and driving around wee were able to find parking, and pretty decent parking at that. I really thought there would be more to this boardwalk, so I was slightly disappointed. There is shopping, and a few restaurants but it wasn’t my scene, it was more of a place to be seen. I prefer the calm, quiet ocean. I also still needed a swim suit so we went into a few of the shops and I was a little surprised that none of them have bathing suits, of course Alvin’s did, an you can read my review on that. That was just weird, right by the ocean and not a swimsuit in sight. The other reviews about loud obnoxious people were correct, luckily there weren’t too many, and it was still enjoyable. My husband was a little uncomfortable on the pier by the boats with the rednecks and their confederate flags, until I explained that it means something different to them. But it was calm and relaxing.

fun place to catch the sunset and get a bushwacker and walk around something fun to do all week long. perfect for our 20month old daughter to also have fun and swim in shallow beach bay side.

So, I’m the 3rd to review this boardwalk. Five stars means it’s perfect. It’s not perfect. I’d go with about 3.6 stars. The location is stellar. That’s for sure. With Pensacola Beach itself having mild surf, it was cool to find this nice little beach that’s more for kids and families on the Santa Rosa Sound side of the barrier island and right next to the boardwalk. Here, there is no surf whatsoever. Then, there are all kinds of stores and places to eat on the boardwalk and, being a tourist trap, they either are so-so or overpriced.(The famous Grand Marlin restaurant is not associated with this boardwalk, being separate and with its own parking). There are musicians who perform on a stage pretty much in the center of the boardwalk. Knocking down the rating are that it is crowded with people, some of whom are noisy and overly boisterous, either on foot or in their cars with their music blasting, it has free parking which is hard to get even midweek and in the shoulder season, and there is a constant police presence, with about 2 or 3 police cars there at all times. It’s fine, and you might need to pick up something at Alvin’s Island or get a slice of pizza, but with all the beaches right in front of you and more things to do in both Pensacola and Gulf Breeze, I feel that coming to this boardwalk is not exactly compelling.

I have been going to this beach since high school and still love going. I especially love taking my young daughter. She has only just started swimming but even before that, letting her play in the shallow, warm water, I felt safe. There are a lot of businesses on the boardwalk from restaurants, shops, and places to buy frozen drinks to go! I love it… plus, there is a place at the end of the boardwalk to jet skis, stand up paddle boards and kayaks. A lot to do at this beach!

After crossing/paying just $ 1 at the toll bridge, Quietwater Boardwalk is to your left. Its home to restaurants, shopping, and a nightclub or two. You can dock your boat out by the soundside. And its a nice place for families during the day. During warmer months you can listen to free musicians playing at The big seashell. Within walking distance to Casino beach where you can enjoy the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. I love our beaches!
