Alex’s Seafood & Good Eats

I pretty much grew up in Pennsauken the remainder of my childhood and never stopped by this spot. Since I had horrible cravings for crab legs and need the fixings. I decided to give it a try depending on my fellow Unilocalers and high school mates. I honestly thought this was a-​ok. Decent, but not primarily the best. I wish the showcases were filled with options like most seafood places and their platters were small compared to the ones in Philly. I’ll return when blue crabs are in season and see how that goes…

This place is so delicious. It’s inconspicuous and hidden, but you should definitely stop if you come by it. The owners were so attentive and the food was amazing! Everything was fresh and delicious. We had the broiled combo and Cajun cat fish sandwich. If you’re driving by, stop by. You won’t regret it.

Great people n great food… Most pleasant place to go spend ur money with no regrets… Can’t wait to go back.

Alex’s is definitely NOT fine dining but it definitely earns 5 stars! Between the food and the staff I have no complaints. This is my go to for snow crabs they are cooked and frozen. I pop them in the oven and as they near warming completely, i splash a little beer on top. The garlic butter is a must, the best I’ve had anywhere. It has large minced pieces of garlic and just the right amount of salt. It’s hard to not chug down the entire container. My fiancé loves the blue crabs that are cleaned and precooked as well with butter and old bay. Each time I stop in they are preparing a new soup this time around it was a crab bisque (to die for). There is a small dining area but most times we prefer to take out and enjoy our seafood at home with beer. On ocassion I have tried their platters and while not out of this world they are solid and satisfy your cravings.
The parking is super small (about 6 spots) and tricky because you have to turn into it from route 130 so make sure you turn on your signal light. The shape of the parking lot is odd so I always worry I’ll hit someone when turning in if they are backing out. I cannot stress enough how nice everyone that works here is. They clearly love what they do! They don’t lie when they say great people great food!

It’s been years since I’ve been to this place. It’s so close to home but for some reason I never really stop by. One thing for sure, is I’ll be coming back when I need my fix for seafood.
On the day I went, it was a hot stuffy Sunday. I actually already ate at home but the girlfriend wanted some seafood. We went in and ordered a seafood combination platter (Came with fries, fried fish, and oysters I believe?).
To make things complicated we wanted the fried clam strips instead of fried oysters.
We got the the adjustment free of charge! How awesome is that? Not going to encourage people to start customizing their orders (For god sake, it’s a headache for them… If you could imagine…) But it really shows their willingness to cater to their customers.

I hope people nearby, or out of town come visit this place for yourself. It’s wonderful! Forget the overpriced Red Lobster, or overcooked nasty buffets. This is the place to go to if you’re craving some fresh seafood!

The snow crabs were amazing we had a family of 6 and got 2 5lb trays for $ 45 a tray and it was plenty of food and the guys were so friendly and nice plus a dozen blues for under $ 20 can not find that anywhere else!

What can I say. ONE word TASTY. Great staff great service. My new place for crabs. Had Carolina Blue Crabs this weekend and they were beyond delicious. I also had a fried combo. The shrimp and crab cake were great. I didn’t care for the fried fish that came with it. But hey if you want crabs give them a try

Visited with friends and I have to say, the staff there is some of the nicest people I have ever met! They greeted us the moment we walked in, and introduced themselves like we had always been friends. They were very attentive and the food was incredibly fresh and tasty. A return trip is definitely in order.

Went there for the first time last night and can’t say enough about how lovely of an experience it was. Went in with some friends after a long day of fun and we were quite eager for some good food but wanted to try something a bit new.
When we walked in, we were greeted by several friendly people and offered some information on the restaurant and their food/​specials. We ended up ordering a flounder sandwich, two crabcake sandwiches and an order of hushpuppies. All were top notch! We got some funnel cake for dessert and this was also excellent. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The guys were SUPER friendly and the costs were very reasonable. We will definitely be returning, and I passed on info about how great this place was to my family as well.

This place is great. I have driven by many times and have never stopped. Today I stopped and I am glad I did. I got 6 crabs to go and they were awesome. The owner and his guys were great. The place is very clean people are friendly and the food is great. I will be back!

Wow! Stumbled on this fantastic place. Both Alex and Anthony were amazing with super service.
I had a dozen raw oysters while I waited for my crabs. Alex offered his special Alex oyster for me to try. It was so yummy I ordered the dozen!
They have a large variety of seafood and fixings.

On our quest for some lobster in the Jersey area, we found Alex’s. Although none of the previous reviews mentioned lobster, we decided to check it out anyway because of the raving reviews on the crabs, crab cakes, shrimp, etc.
What we had:
— Broiled Flounder Platter
— Broiled Shrimp Platter
— Corn
Since it was our first time, Alex’s brother let us try a sample of the crab cakes and broiled clams. Both were delicious! Crab cake samples were a bit lukewarm, but they were good. Broiled clams were piping hot and we are SO ready to order 50 next time!
Broiled Flounder and Shrimp Platters were great! The platters came with steamed broccoli, mashed potatoes, a warm roll, and tartar as well as cocktail sauces. Cocktail sauce is bomb. We finished eating without feeling guilty and without feeling uncomfortably full.
As for the corn, we had that to-​go and they came with butter and Old Bay seasoning. They were okay, but not anything like the ones at Wildwood Boardwalk… you do not even know — those corns are our favorites!
Service was incredibly friendly and the wait for the platters did not take too long… but then again, we were the only customers at the time.
FYI, they do have lobster, but you have to call ahead, so they can prepare for you. On Sundays, many seafood they have left in the glass counter are discounted, so they can make room for new batches the coming week.
Cannot wait to try the lobster and other seafood the next time we go back… which will be really soon!

The coworkers decided to try this place out after reading some raving reviews and we were not disappointed. Although the food took a while to pickup (about 50 minutes wait for 5 people) the seafood was freshly prepared and cooked to perfection. I ordered the fried oysters which was pipping hot when it arrived, the breading was not too thick so you can still taste the oysters. I also ordered the crab cake and jumbo shrimp which was absolutely fantastic, the crab cake was not at all flour-​y and the shrimp was not overcooked. The only thing I didn’t like was the clam chowder because it was too thick (it was like playdoh rather than like a thick soup). Overall, although the quality and taste of the food more than makes up for its appearance on the inside.

Just left Alex seafood. Omg the food is excellent. The gentleman who own the place are such sweethearts. I would just go in there for their personality alone. They make you feel like you are family. We had salmon crabs both dungeness and snowcrabs. Best believe you will not be disappointed at all. Yes I will be going back next week. Leaving fat and happy…

Food taste great. Friendly owners. All made fresh in front of you. Alex is a young guy, who handles the restaurant, super personable and even let me behind the counter to interview him for a class. Will be back, thanks guys!

I eat here frequently. The food is delicious and always cooked fresh. The people here are very friendly. It’s one of my favorite places to eat.

Amazing food and service! The fried scallops and fried flounder were so great! They were cooked perfectly. The staff is so friendly and the service was really quick! Highly recommended.

they are really good. im from maryland so i know good seafood. i had the salmon platter and it was delish. they have everything you would ever want from the ocean. and i was so surprised how nice and friendly the people were. i was having such a bad day when i went there… but who knew a room full of strangers and good food can turn your day around or make it better. go here you wont regret it.

Amazing fresh seafood! Cool and funny guys! My boyfriend and I loves it there! Chicken tender are perfectly breaded and lightly fried with honey mustard sauce. Their crab seasonings are amazingly good. Oh and did I mentioned their garlic butter! Definitely recommended! Perfect season for some seafood now! Go grab some! Either it’s crab, shrimps, clams, fish etc. they got it all!
