For Pets Only

This small town business I figured would cherish new local customers. Having moved to Penn Valley in the last six months with my three poodles we should have been treated like great new customers to this Groomer/​Pet Supply… But as sweet as Sally is her business is geared to as much profit as possible, to the extent of total shock to me anyway…
Purchasing a bag of dog treats at twice the cost of on-​line I figured okay I’ll support the local business but when I bought my Standard Poodle in for a bath I was quoted $ 30 by the cashier who asked the groomer what to charge. I left my dog for the service and when I returned was asked for $ 45 by the owner Sally. Excuse me I was quoted $ 30, oh that was my sister she doesn’t know the correct prices, but your sister asked the groomer, oh but your dog is bigger than she thought, not so my dog was there during the quote plus my dog is 65lbs. which is average for a Std. Poodle, plus the fact that the Pet store up the street quoted $ 36 Sally’s response was «Oh but we’re better than they are» my thought was better at what soaping up a dog or rinsing it off or better at being a complete rip-​off… Paid the $ 45 walked out to never return to this high priced local money trap !!!

I have a great little doodle. She is kind of shy and when I took her in Sally greeted her with a kiss and a scratch on her ear, and she was immediately put at ease. She went back into the grooming area with her little tail held high and wagging like crazy. When she was finished being groomed, she just pranced out to see me, with that adorable tail held even higher (if you can believe that). I must say that was the BEST groom she has ever had. I will be going back in about four weeks so she can stay looking like that adorable doodle that came out of For Pets Only that first time. She has never looked sooooo good. Thanks! ! !
