I’ve been coming here for about a year now. They have there days. Took me a while to fine the best pedicure tech here. Her name is Ava. So gentle, takes her time, has not cut me once. I finally lost my fear of getting my feet done. I so recommend her. She doesn’t understand or speak English but she always has a smile on her face. She doesn’t do hands. Nancy is my girl– does the best eyebrows– has her own private room in the back. She also does eyelashes too. Best nail tech is Hay– he sits all the way in the back. Has lots of clients so make an appointment. The other techs have somewhat of an attitude problem but they don’t spoil the good ones

Typical nail salon. I always go to the owner Lisa’s niece. She is pretty good. If you can go during the week it is way better because they are less rushed.

I went to this nail salon for 2 and a half years. My nail tech Jonathan was great and even did my wedding day nails, but he left a few months ago. I continued trying out the other nail techs for a few months, but unfortunately they all didn’t do very well with exfoliating or did crooked lines on the white tips. Don’t even bother asking the males to do a French/white tip pedicure because they will give the nail polish part to one of the ladies whom then make crooked, messy lines and get annoyed when u ask them to correct it. Where do I start with the negatives. Firstly, the younger asian guy in the back corner station is a total perv. Like another person said, it’s clear they talk about customers in Vietnamese because they all look at you and smirk after the tech says something in Vietnamese, especially if you speak up about messy nail polish, rough heels not scrubbed off well enough, or even a smudge you want fixed, etc. The last time I went, the young girl who did my pedicure actually told me I looked like I gained weight since the wedding! Then she asked where my husband was from(I’m hispanic) and when I said Haitian she made an ugly face and sarcastically said«good luck». In addition to the weight comment, during the hot towel wipe down, she squeezed out boiling hot water between my legs and«accidentally» burned my leg with some drops from the towel before wiping down and gave a very half-assed apology. Then when I finally finished drying my nails she made some comment as I walked out of the salon to the other two women doing pedicures and they all smirked and stared at me into the parking lot as I got in my car. Overall, the place is not worth all the money I’ve wasted there over the past 2 and a half years and none of the nail techs measure up to the only tech that was professional and competent, and who quit, which was Jonathan. Not to mention that same young girl tech once put way too much wax on my eyebrows during an eyebrow waxing which led to dark scabs of dry blood on my upper eyelids for the next week that looked like I had a black eye! Enough said? I think I gave this salon way too many chances because it’s so close to my house but after getting burned and told I’ve gained weight this last time, I’m now sure that if I knew Vietnamese I would have stopped going a long time ago. If anyone knows where Jonathan went and is now working, I would greatly appreciate if you let me know! My email is . :) hope this helped others the trouble. I’d recommend Sue’s Nail salon across the street instead in the Lowe’s plaza, so long as u make an appt because they get veeery busy :)

I came to University Nails after reading the reviews on Unilocal.I went 2 days ago. I still cant put shoes on due to being cut beyond belief during a pedicure. It was my first time there and I got a full set of gel nails and decided at the last minute to get a pedi because it was $ 20 bucks, bad move. The girl was very nice but I didnt realize how badly I was cut until later. Both feet have deep gashes in them and like I said I can only wear sandals because Im in so much pain. I went back there today and spoke to the manager. I decided not to lose my cool and they gave me a gift certificate to come back. They did a decent job on nail set so I might do that. The pedicure chairs are always full so I must have really just had a bad one, there has to be a reason the chairs are full but I would say dont have a pedi there!

This place is your typical nail salon ran by my asian peeps. They recently gave themselves a facelift and renovated the salon to make it look a lot more updated. Yes, they speak Vietnamese to each other, so you really don’t know what they’re saying about you or your ingrown toenails, but they’re pretty cheap(compared to other spa-type salons) so I’ll take the smack talking about my feet. Lisa is pretty quick and good at what she does, but she has A LOT of clients, so it’s pretty hard to get in with her. Her husband Tony is really funny and he’s been doing this for years, so he’s quick as well. Then they have other techs there that are pretty knowledgable, but it’s hard to understand what they’re saying. I just nod and say yes, that always works. lol. If you’re looking for a «spa» type of place, this is definitely not it, but if you want to get waxed, manicured, pedicured, filled and eyelashed all for under $ 100(excluding tip), this is the place.
