The Grape Merchant

Every time we passed this place on the weekends, we usually heard a live guitarist. It always looked like a warm and inviting place. We finally decided to go there to get a glass of wine. The service was great. I am absolutely horrible at picking out wines and our waitress was more than happy to make suggestions to me. She really gave some great recommendations.
I would have loved to come back to this place anytime.

I really like the feel of the whole Pembroke Gardens area… it has that latin vibe now without the Kendall freak show element so now the Pines isn’t as bland and generic as it was in the mid 90’s…when civilization stopped around Hiatus Rd

This is a chill place to go to when you want to enjoy a glass of wine in good company. There is a nice bar that faces the wine dispensing machine that lets you see the bottle you selected. To the rear there is a lounge area with couches and comfortable looking chairs.
We sat at the bar and were met by the friendly bartender who gave me suggestions on which white wine to try. Being a novice I had a few questions and she took her time answering them. I ordered the Cesari Pinot Grigio and it was very smooth and light as I requested. They had live music earlier but as we arrived late they had left. The bar had about 15 people on a Saturday night at midnight so there was a decent crowd. The atmosphere is not stuffy and there were no snobs there — just people out to have a good time.

I love this place! Great spot to socialize with friends over a glass of wine. I have found that the employees provide very helpful advice on selections to match your tastes. On Wednesday nights at 7pm, they have a «tasting» with wine makers and distributors. Lots of fun to hear the «background» of what you are drinking and to meet new friends. I highly recommend checking it out…

So-​so. The atmosphere was nice. Love 94 sponsored an evening of Jazz at this suburban haunt. The crowd was pretty and friendly last night. I ordered the 3 for Swirl and went with white wine house selections, a pino grigio (a little too light), a Chardonnay (acceptable but not noteworthy) and a White Blend (argh, very sweet and not to my taste at all). We also enjoyed a nice Manchego cheese plate. Ordered smoked salmon and it was extremely unusual in that it tasted more like mackerel than salmon. Skin on too — what’s up with that? Overall I would go again but I didn’t get much guidance or suggestions from the staff, maybe they are under trained or just not motivated.
