Sweet Tomatoes

It’s been years since I visited a Sweet Tomatoes, but since I was in the area and wanted to have more greens in my daily nutrition, I stopped by. The place was busy on a Saturday night, with couples and families dining together. My salad was delicious, but the breads were not as appetizing as I remember. The Macaroni and cheese was a little bland. Desserts were okay. Overall a nice place to bring your family for an affordable price, especially if there are vegans and vegetarians in your party.

This is honestly my favorite buffet place and I’m a pretty picky eater. The soups are always on point. The salad bar has a great variety. Every month they had a different theme. For example, last month was Asian and this month is Mexican. Everything is always hot and fresh! I definitely recommend this place to healthy eaters!

The food was fresh, plentiful and very tasty. The salad bar has a wide variety of options. The restaurant was clean (although the floors by the buffet lines were a bit sticky and needed to be mopped) and staff were friendly. Our plates were removed in a timely fashion. Overall I was very pleased with my visit. The only thing I would change is to maybe have a few more options, especially as far as protein as most of the items are carbohydrate based. I would definitely return.

The food here is delicious but its the staff that make this place as they are always ready to help and tell you about the different specials they have which allows me to try new things. It’s also good to know the food is made fresh reach day on site.

This place is great! If you have children, they will absolutely love it. You may see a few people stretching their kids’ ages to get a discount. 5’11″ boys with facial hair are suddenly 6 years old.
They take excellent care of the salad line. We have 3 kids. By the time they went through the line, all the food was mixed up with a lot of it on the floor. They had it fixed back up in no time. It’s a kid friendly place. You have to expect that. If you don’t like kids, then go eat at a strip club.
The chicken and rice soup was very good. I went back several times for more. The soup bowls are rather small. So, you may have to just stand over the pot and eat it. I also recommend the chicken noodle soup. But, you may get behind one of those people that likes to stand there for an eternity going through the pot looking for the chicken. I always found that a nice loud fart helps in those situations.
And you can’t leave without getting one of those chocolate muffins and putting some vanilla ice cream on it. I like to stand at the ice cream machine and eat it. That way you can refill it without having to get up again. If you feel someone trying to nudge their way in, please be polite and kind and take a half step to one side and let them reach in. But, hold your real estate or you’ll lose your pole position.
We have 3 kids so our table looked like a balloon full of shit exploded. But, that’s what’s great about this place. We just left a few dollars on the table and walked away!
Gigi, the cashier, went over the top to be nice to us. Overall it’s a good family buffet. I highly recommend it.
And one last thing. They take great care of their bathrooms. My kids went in to the restroom as soon as we got there. When they left a few minutes later, there was pee all over the toilet seats and wet paper towels all over the floor. We went back in 10 minutes later and it was already cleaned up and ready for the kids’ encore!

Awesome prices and food. Love me some good healthy options besides greasy fast food. Love the Mac and cheese and soups. Salads on point

Refreshing from our last visit.

Took our Grand sons and we have a Delicious Salad, (Freshly made) Soup variety, their warm Focassia Breads, (like having a healthy pizza) cold salads, and their pasta station.
Love their consistency in the way the food is prepare, and like to mention our server was outstanding in making us be aware to enjoy our meal,

This location irritates the crap out of me. The food is always fine, it is the service and the other patrons that make the rating so low. When we first walked in, the woman who was making the prepared salads greeted us with a friendly hello, so yay for her and a mental point was added in my head. She also kept the tray line very clean, super bonus considering the slobs that come to this location. The store had been open for all over 30 min and some douchebag had already strewn French dressing into the ranch dressing. Some other a-​hole managed to get some other type of dressing into the pickles, even tho they are not really that close to the dressings. Don’t even get me started on the mess that someone made in the pasta bar. It is like they sent Stevie Wonder to get their pasta. Makes me wonder how messy these people keep their homes? People there also don’t understand the concept of personal space, as this one butthead was so far uBet a million bucks these are the same asses that would scream and cry if they had a food allergy or something.
As we moved down the line, I could hear the cashier and some other girl there yapping about what they did last night, fine no big deal. However, when we went to pay, the cashier actually walked away to go finish talking to the other girl! I was flabbergasted. It was quite rude, especially when they big conversation was about the cashier wanting to buy a body pillow because her pregnant friend has one and they are OHMYGAWDSOCOMFYTOSLEEPON. Really, just get the customers paid and then you can yap all you want! Get some work ethic or better yet, LEARN TO MULTITASK.

This is a large location that always has plenty of seating. The employees are constantly keeping up the cleanliness, which I’m sure isn’t easy in such a big place! The plates and silverware are always clean and the food is always fresh. It’s a great spot to eat salad, soup and ice-​cream until your belly hurts– in the best way! The only thing that would make this place PERFECT would be little comfy beds to take a nap after you’ve had your fill ;)

The food is disgusting. I couldn’t find nothing to eat after i spent my hard earned money. Even the lemonade was stale. Dont even waste your time or money cause i sure did. Thank you Rotten Tomato!

This is one of my favorite places to go as far as quick, fast casual and healthy. The salad bar portion of the buffet always has fresh ingredients and changing options of mixed side salads that I always try. My favorite part is the different variety of soups. I recently went and had a lobster bisque that was pretty decent. I like to consider myself a soup aficionado…(don’t care if it’s 80 degrees outside… I love soup that much.). There is a soup here for everyone and I like that they are always rotating out new ones. I always have 2 – 3 different soups every visit, so I know of what I speak. My hubby had a chili that was delicious and we can always count on them having chicken noodle soup which is always a «go to» item for my 11 year old daughter. The other great part is the breads, hot muffins, baked desserts and flatbreads. They also try to provide offerings that are relevant to the season which is nice. When we went recently during the Christmas holiday time, they had desserts made w pieces of candy canes. Nice and delicious… my daughter loved them! Of course we always have the soft serve ice cream and I always add chocolate sauce and a crunchy topping (they had granola and crumbled cookies the last time we went). They have fresh fruit, puddings, and jellos in another area… I have never really partaken of these options. They never really appeal to me with all the other items I can choose from.
The restaurant also offers 3 different kinds of pastas. While they are about average, they are still a nice offering to add variety to your meal. Another area I must mention are the drink offerings. Most people are fine with plain water. Not me, especially when I am dining out. They have a great variety to choose from. They do have the regular soda fountain drinks but also one or two lemonade drinks. They also provide upper end teas and 3 hot coffees offerings.
As far as pricing, I belong to their reward club and I receive coupons via email w QR codes. We never pay more than $ 10 dollars per person for any meal. You just can’t beat that for the amount of food variety and food quality.
Last but not least, have to give the people that work there some props. Yes, if is a self serve buffet place, but the people that clear the tables are always nice and friendly as well as the people at the register and putting out the food. I have eaten at many places where you are paying 2 – 3 times more and the service is so bad that it ruins your eating experience. Not here. My family loves this place and we will continue to come back.

Super friendly staff for a Sunday afternoon. The salad was fresh with so many veggies to pick from. They had 8 different soups from chili to chicken noodle. The corn chowder with bacon was yummy. I added extra bacon from the potato bar to make it even better. I had to have one of their blueberry muffins with butter. I passed on the pasta, pizza and potatoes and had some fresh fruit to finish my meal off.
I’m not a fan of buffet places but when I really want salad, it’s Sweet Tomatoes time. Also whenever I am sick and want soup I stop in for chicken noodle to go. Their chicken noodle has tons of really good broth and wide noodles. It’s just what the doctor ordered!
Finally, don’t pass up on the chocolate chip cookies. For just $ 1.99 you get a dozen small, delicious chocolate chip cookies in a bag with a ribbons. I often give a few bags to my son for his teachers.

Always great food. We come here at least once a month to get my fix! Best bread and muffins!

Looking for the best soup and salad you’ve ever had? Sweet Tomatoes can’t provide that, but If you’re looking for great value, then this is a great spot to go (especially when you bring a coupon).
They offer a large salad bar with many options, 4 – 5 soups, various breads, potatoes & sweet potatoes (with toppings), pasta, muffins, dessert and some fruit. I just used a bunch of commas; this means that they have a great selection of food. Everything is tasty, but won’t blow your mind; they just offer good food at a great price.
During weekend lunch/​early evenings they can get a bit crowded with families/​kids which might seem overwhelming, but there really is never a wait that makes you want to tear your hair out. All in all, you could do much worse elsewhere.

I feel like this place is completely misleading. Basically it is not much different from a Ryan’s or Golden Corral except there is a lot less meat involved. As you enter, you can see a very long salad bar, with the same institutional style ingredients one would find at any salad bar, it’s just that this salad bar is twice the length and double sided (same ingredients on each side). Aside from the salad bar offerings, there were 8 different soups available, and the soups were either watery or tasted like something served in an assisted living facility. Next to that, were the «breads». there were only two when I went and while only one was covered in cheese, both were like greasy sponges.
As I continued down the line I came to the nacho bar. yep chips, cheese, and ground meat all dumped out of a bag and placed on display for the picking. There was also a soft serve machine, as well as a soda fountain.
I was under the impression that this place had top notch ingredients as well as too notch soups and breads but nothing could be futher from the truth. It cost me 12 bucks to eat here, and after eating 3 salads piled high to try get my money’s worth, I merely felt like I left a feast for rabbits with crappy food.

I’ve been privy to several sweet Tomatoes locations. I have been to some pretty awesome ones. This one is very similar to most I’ve been to but it is missing something maybe a little cleaning… a little spunk… something. I also wasn’t a fan that the unsweetened tea canister was pretty much empty until closing time. Which brings me to #2. They close at 9 pm on a Monday. This was a let down and I feel like we were rushed out.
It’s still a great place to eat if you love salads! They also have carbs, soups, and some desserts. Don’t come here expecting steaks or meat items because you won’t find it here. I’m sure people come here in hopes of sticking to their salad diet but you’ll find they’ll have a hard time sticking to the plan since uou have the deliciously creamy mac and cheese, and other tasty breads.
Some people like this place and others don’t. It’s pretty much a hit or miss. I’m a big fan, but the location just needed something more. The prices are pretty reasonable and for the most part, the food looks fresh.
I just have to ask, with a name like «Sweet Tomatoes» the only tomato I found were cherry tomatoes for the salad. You’d think there would be more.

Man I feel bad for the one and two star reviews, I used to go to this place all the time in highschool and it was always great. I went back yesterday and they still have fresh food and a friendly staff. They had an employee walking around and clearing tables and offering chocolate chip cookies. Someone on here complained that there weren’t a lot of Gulten Free options and when I went there were 7 gluten free salad dressings, everything was labeled accurately and other gluten free options at the hot bar. I don’t know what else people want from this place, it’s clean, fresh, there’s lots of options, and friendly staff. It’s a $ 10 all you can eat buffet, quit complaining!

I was disappointed in my recent visit to the Pembroke pines sweet tomatoes. I paid $ 9ish for my buffet. I always have the won ton chicken happiness salad. The salad did not make me happy. There was so little dressing in the salad that i may have tasted it in three bites only. There was absolutely NO chicken to be seen or tasted.
There were numerous heavy cream soups which my mother enjoyed.
The area near the ice cream/​frozen yogurt machine needs to be improved. You can see the plugs, wires and mechanics– not very professional looking. the rest room was clean and well stocked.
There was only one bus boy working a very busy lunch time so it took a while to clear away plates.
I never know how much tip to leave at a buffet place so i leave $ 1 – 2 per person. I saw someone leave a handful of change– come on people– that is just as rude as leaving nothing!

I love this place for lunch. Fresh salads and 8 different soups.
examples are brocoli and chesse, chilli, loaded potatoe, chicken noddles and many more. they also have pizza, sweet potatoes and different types of muffins and bread.
best way to end is with a hot chocolate muffin and some soft served icecream!
