Leta is and will always have my heart. Best baked goods and all your trini craves. But like most island places, because of her popularity you need to call ahead. Sometimes if there are big orders you may have to wait a few. But her customer service is so top notch that you don’t mind too much. I will be back again soon.

Hours aren’t right. Unilocal says 8am, went there and saw the door say 930 so I came back around then and still not open

Letas is the best Trinidadian style Caribbean bakery in South Florida! I’m never disappointed by the food and friendly service. My only reason for deducting a star is for their inconsistencies. You should call before you stop by to make sure they have what you’re in the mood for. They don’t have a set menu of things they’re guaranteed to make daily. Bake & Shark AMAZING, Roti AMAZING, Stew Shrimp AMAZING… All the baked goods are fantastic as well. But you just can’t pop in and expect them to have what you’re looking for, so call first to avoid disappointment. They will also take special orders if you place them ahead of time.

Wish i could say the food was good or even alrigt, but when we walked in, we couldn’t even smell bakery goods. I don’t know if it’s because there was a mad rush and everything was sold out but the display counters were empty and it didn’t help that the gentleman behind the counter didn’t seem so happy to be there. I asked if the one item he had for sale was all he had and my answer was, for now. I don’t own a bakery, but if i did, i think I’d be selling bakery goods. The one star wasn’t for bad food, it’s for a bad 1st impression. Sorry to say, i won’t be back to figure it out.

Food is great! I am yet to taste a menu item from this Trini restaurant that is not delish! The beef pies, salmon and crab pies are all so savory and melts in your mouth. The currants roll… straight from Trinidad flaky, sweet and moist. The crab and dumplings, goat roti and cow heel soup OMG! I tell you this place is a must visit if you’re in town for carnival or you haven’t been home in a while. They also have our snacks like Zoomers, Catch, Nuggle, Lunch and the Chocolate covered digestives. This is definitely a home away from home. The only downfall to this place is the management and service. The lackluster attitude. Nothing is ever ready, so only stop by if you have 20 – 30 mins to spare waiting on them to prepare your food(possibly from scratch). Even if you call ahead for pick up, they will start making your order only after you arrive. So just relax and wait! The only reason I return is because there is no where else in Broward for you to find REALTRINI food but here.

Try the coconut bake and butter bread here because they are delicious. Staff has always been polite and kind in my experience.

I must say I have a love hate relationship with this place! Their baked goods are absolutely delicious and amazing. The sweet bread, coconut bake and butter bread are all yummy. The pies get me every time. My absolute favorite pie is the saltfish pie. The chicken, turkey, beef, crab and smoke herring are all amazing as well! The guava pastry is also another favorite of mine. When it comes to the baked goods, no one can beat them or sells items like those. The hate part in the relationship comes in the cooked food. The only item I like every time I order is the bake and buljol(saltfish). The food can be a hit and miss at times. Sometimes it tastes good and other times not so great. The bake and shark is usually good. The other issue with the food is that they take forever to make it. You can easily end up waiting half hour or more for the food. Also with the baked goods, they don’t prepare enough and sometimes you go and they will have nothing available. There was a point where I got so fed up of always going and them never having anything that I stopped going for a few months. Luckily the last few times I have gone they had a lot of pies and baked goods available. I will always go back because some of the items they sell you can only get there and when I am craving my Trini food they never disappoint me with those baked goodies. My recommendation would be that if you are planning to get food then call ahead to place your order or be prepared to wait.

Went in for the first time yesterday and the pastries are amazing. The fresh baked bread is a must! Unfortunately this place will become one of my guilty pleasures.

The service here has gone down tremendously. I just can’t anymore with the poor service from West Indian restaurants. I call to place an order for a roti & was told that it’s «pretty much ready.» What the HELL does that mean? I was told that it’s pretty much ready and that they have roti available but it’s on a 1st come, 1st serve basis. Okay sounds good. I asked to place an order for pickup and was told it would be 20 minutes before it was ready!!! Long story short, they’ve lost a customer for good. One day, The Lord will allow a West Indian restaurant to have good customer service AND reasonable prices. You often will get one and not the other smh

I used to be a patron here before they reopened and loved the food. I recently went back and was very unhappy. The food had no flavor(desperately needed salt) and the roti was sweet. It became too annoyingly sweet to eat being that roti should not have a sweet flavor. I hope they get better.

Ate here for the first time and loved the food. Curry chicken was made to order and the rice was full of flavor. Great place to have a quick/healthy meal. I called and placed my order so it was ready when I got there. They have ox tail, fish dishes, etc… and their pastries are delicious. A must try
