First experience here. My boyfriend’s 4th. They were pretty busy at the counter for 3:30pm. But when we were helped, service was superb. The woman, who i believe is the mother of this family-owned business, was so kind and generous. she took our order and as it was my first time, I had some addition curiosities about this culture-filled menu. She surprised us with sample pieces of everything I asked about — on the house! She was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to see that we had a great dining experience and got a taste of a variety of her cooking. The chicken and goat curry were delicious. The sweet potato and the cabbage-type sides were amazing. The dahl was a great comfort soup. And whatever is in that roti wrap was addicting. Well-made«stick to your bones» food, as my boyfriend put it. We will definitely be back.

So let me start by saying that my mom is from Trinidad. And with that being said, I do have high expectations if you are charging me for food I can get at home. After all, my mom could sure open up a restaurant bakery/café and it would be the bomb dot com. I had ordered the Veggie Roti Wrap. It came with Pumpkin, Spinach, and other vegetarian items. To me, overall the flavour was lacking, the pumpkin could have be better. I’ve never seen the roti wrap concept before, and I like the idea of it. I only wish my tastebuds had more to enjoy. Now, I did come during late lunch time, but I found service to be very slow. We got in when there was no one there. They took forever to put together our food, as we saw a line form behind us to the door. That was discouraging to see. For a craving, this did not meet any of my expectations.

How can you screwup chicken chowmein? Easy, forget to put the chicken in the product. When you go in here, it is those who know the folks behind the counter that get service. They have no number system

Ordered the small beef roti. It was filling and delicious. My only complaint is that they were out of pepper sauce. I will definitely visit again!

Now, I heard that this joint has the Best Roti in town and maybe they were right! Yes, this might be the best«Indian-style» Roti in Broward. But the 2nd best Roti in south Florida… listen, this joint make it to my top 3 Roti Joints… check my other reviews to see my #1 Roti joint! Anyway, check it… the service is friendly and some-what quick. The décor-spacious, nice Caribbean color on the walls… they even have a West Indian grocery store inside! The atmosphere-busy and that’s for a reason! The food-actually, really flavorful and full of Indian-Trinidadian spices but they are actually from Guyana. The drinks-are good too, try some of their in house drinks! The prices-not bad. The parking-plentiful. **Note: If you are dating an Indian, a Trini, a Guyanese… heck, even a Jamaican and you want to treat them to some good food that reminds them of their country then this place needs to be on your list!!! So, check it-I ordered the goat Roti, which was so freaking good but they don’t put the goat in the Roti, which I was kinda disappointed by but the taste of the goat and the Roti was so good that I could«hate» that much! Their Homemade Gingerbeer-so, dope with a smooth ginger flavor… in other words… Tha Unilocal Daddy Approves this place!!!

~~~Food Poisoning~~~ — I bought a boneless chicken roti and a side of spinach. — after eating the spinach I started vomiting spinach every hour in the evening until the next mourning. — the following day I am bed ridden for 24 hours, I ate nothing for 36 hours since I ate the spinach. — on the third day since I ate the spinach I now just ate something as i’m writing this review.
the best roti to be found. paratha roti is my favorite with it’s flaky layers and delicate texture, you can eat it plain and it tastes like a bit of heaven, or wrapped around a variety of fillings, including some very yummy vegetarian options. there is a full array of other hot foods, and their lunch @$ 4.99 is the best bargain in town. super-nice staff are able to juggle the crowds with the newly-installed 3 register system, which has made a huge improvement in the time it takes to get your food. i do recommend take-out. eat in option is available too. the food portions are abundant. the menu is expansive. the food is never too spicy to enjoy, and extra pepper is always an option as you place your order to those who like it «hot». the baked goods should not be missed. i’m a big fan of the cheese rolls(warmed) and the pan bread which has a nice sweet flavor you will enjoy and become addicted to. i could go on and on. i must say, that the improvements in the check out really got me in and out quickly with my hot fresh food in just a few minutes and it was a pleasure to visit.
This place is great. The service is fantastic and the food is also! The curry chicken roti wrap is on point. It’s also the best place to get obscure West Indian groceries you thought you’d never see again!
The people that work here are polite and friendly. I believe this restaurant is owned by an Indian Guyanese family but their roti taste just like Trini roti. The food is good, especially the curry goat roti — it’s a must try. I also tried the beef roti wrap but honestly thought it could be much more flavorful. They also make and bottle their own Mauby drink. Their ginger beer also taste good. Oh, and their roti skins taste perfect! They also offer native bakery goods and grocery items that are staples in places like Trinidad and Tobago & Guyana.
Probably the best curry chicken roti I ever had. The roti skin was a little thicker but I didn’t mind. It was great! I got a small cause the large was way too big for me. Very clean and very nice staff. The only thing that was missing was doubles. I wish they sold them but that’s ok. Please add them to your menu!!!
I came here a few days ago. When I walked in there was about 3 customers when it was my turn to order there was about 15 people in line waiting behind me. I understand why! Very delicious food. I had a chicken roti & a vegetarian plate. I picked my friend up not to long after and he almost ate all my food while I was driving, he kept saying«I like this, this shit is good»(lol) in between bites. I love that they use boneless chicken! I’ve have had plenty of rotis with some much bones takes away from the meal having to stop every 5 seconds pulling bones out my mouth. I also like that they had Ribena, smarties and Quality Street Chocolates for Sale! Yummmmmm! Reminded me of home! Thank you. I will be back. SOON.
My friend had the chicken tandoor and was not satisfied. He said it was dry and didn’t have a flavor it to. Me on the other hand fell in Looooooooove with the chicken roti! Yummmm!!! Highly recommend. It has some unique spice to it that really felt healing and re-freshening. Prices were really good as well. They have really good lunch deals! I really enjoyed my food so much I really wanted to give a 5 star review however I was not happy with the service. When we went to order one of the workers came took my husbands order disappeared to the back, another worker came took my order and disappeared to the back, then another worker came to ring up our order and called for someone else to do it. Very unorganized and unprofessional business. After we got our food and were situated we went to take a seat. 3 of the workers went on break and sat at the tables near to us. They acted very childish and had very immature conversations the whole entire time. I’m sorry but even if your on break your a employee representing the business and I shouldn’t have to sit there and listen to your«loud+obnoxious» conversation about how you get girls, get drunk, go to party’s, have anger management problems and the hook up websites you use, while I’m trying to enjoy my food. Very childish and unprofessional. Like I said I really enjoyed the food but this part really messed up my experience. I hope the management improves there employees!
Great people from Guyana. Dhal roti chicken is so good! Only 50 cents to upgrade to dhal.(With peas) Lunch time they get pretty busy and there’s a line to wait to order. Try the pound cake for dessert. Yum! It brings back so much memories.
I’ve been to Sheiks a few times for the vegetarian meal combo which has pumpkin, spinach, curry potato with garbanzos and eggplant. The food is good and has just enough spice but would I say it’s worth the wait? Not really. I drive pretty far to come here and today after work, I stopped in to grab a to-go plate. When I arrived there was one person ahead of me and one person who had already ordered and was waiting. Suddenly there was a huge crowd of people that arrived and the people behind the counter looked panicked. After I ordered, I waited(for precooked food) another 20 minutes. The young guy who helped me was nice enough but he wasn’t organized and seemed confused. He didn’t seem to know who to help or what to do next. He disappeared in the back for about ten minutes and while he was away, people were piling up and looking hungry. He finally came back out and acknowledged that he had already taken my order. He then fixed my food, I paid and left. The food was good but it’s not something I couldn’t prepare myself had I not been lazy that night. Next time I decide to wait twenty minutes or better for takeout, it’s gonna be worth it and it’s gonna be something I don’t know how to cook! Lol!
This is a very nice eating establishment. Their food is great and made on the spot. Try not to come at lunchtime as is this this is their busiest hour and you will be waiting for at least 30 minutes. However, the food is well worth it. The employees are very pleasant and it is rather clean.
Caribbean lunches for under $ 5, why yes please! While this is my first visit here I am no stranger to west indie/Caribbean food. I’ve eaten at Joy’s in Lauderhill and had home cooked meals from a few different families. While I liked their pholourie better than any that I’ve had elsewhere, with a dark yellow color and dark sweet chutney, I wasn’t amazed by the chow mein or curry potatoes that I had. Don’t get me wrong, the food wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t as flavorful as I was hoping. Perhaps I chose poorly. With customer service as great as it was and the prices being what they are I think I will give this place another try.
