Tose Steak & Sushi

Pros: Food was ok
Cons: we ordered a lava roll, a salmon skin hand roll, chop chop roll, and a rock and roll roll. They all had the same honey mustard + teriyaki sauce. They had the same texture, taste and flavor. If I wanted to eat the same thing 4 times I would have ordered four of the same thing. Couldn’t eat the white ginger they had to clean our pallet, it was bitter. Cost? $ 43 tax and tip

Tried a bit of their sushi rolls, nigiri sushi, and bento. I was very disappointed with their sushi rolls. I’ve had plenty of sushi experiences but the rolls from this business really stood out… negatively. Of the two we ordered, they almost tasted the same to the point I couldn’t even remember which one was which if it wasn’t for the avocado (we had spider and eel dragon). The rolls were overly sauced with eel sauce and to my surprise, they put a considerable amount of wasabi in the rolls too which was very unexpected and not very appetizing. The sushi wasn’t the freshest either but still okay…
The lunch bento box is a good deal and there are a lot of selections and mix matches to fit your needs.
The inside is very dimly lit, but very spacious. Service was okay.

The Green Dragon Roll is fantastic! When they say spicy they mean it! Really cool atmosphere and décor. Didn’t expect much from strip center sushi, I was pleasantly surprised. Will be back for sure!

So good! I’m picky about my sushi but this place is so good. Cute setting. Dim lights and incredible prices. I can’t believe it only has 3.5 stars!

Spacious restaurant with friendly staffs. If you’re in the mood for sushi but don’t want to wait in line then come here. The restaurant is still trying to get their name out so the restaurant never hits maximum capacity.
For appetizers, the edamame is a safe choice.
Happy Sumo Roll (¹⁰⁄₁₀): DEEP FRIED sushi!!! I guess everything eventually gets fried in Texas. The main ingredients are shrimp tempura, avocado, cream cheese and snow crab. It comes with crispy and sweet tempura strings on the side which amazingly goes with the rolls. Highly recommend this!!!
New York Roll (⁷⁄₁₀): This sushi roll isn’t as flavorful as the Happy Sumo but it’s still great!
The roll is wrapped with snow crab, asparagus, avocado and crab stick.
Other cooked sushi rolls that you can try: shrimp tempura, shaggy dog, utah, spider, and rock & roll.

The sushi here is always fresh and the server is ok but the fact that the food is awesome makes me over look the slow services.

For starters, this place is not bad. It just isn’t the greatest either. I came for lunch and the place was pretty empty, but it didn’t bother me. The service was attentive, but we were also her only table. We order miso which came out cold, a few appetizers which were better, and then a couple of rolls which were decent but nothing complicated, and then left. Overall, I’d come back. It’s not my favorite sushi joint around by any means, but it’s decently priced, conveniently located to my house, and overall, okay.

My boyfriend and I eat here 3 – 4 times a month because of the high quality fish, fast service, and location (it’s near our house). I’m happy to find a sushi restaurant outside the beltway that I like! I’ve never tried the Chinese food on the menu, but I recommend the red scorpion roll or any tempura roll because the batter is light and delicious!

We love this place! It’s right by our house so we eat there pretty frequently. And they deliver now. Always get sushi so I can’t speak for the rest of the menu but everything we’ve had has been great! Love the Fuji volcano roll and orange dragon roll. The yellow tail sashimi is always so yummy and fresh. Best sushi in the area. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the service is usually on the slower side.

If you are in the mood for good sushi in the Pearland area, Tose is a good option. We have a few options in the area, but this place can compete with some of the big city places. It’s tucked away in a small shopping complex. The décor inside is really appealing to the eye and looks like a good place to have small gatherings at. The staff is always friendly and helpful in the ordering process.
The sushi menu is lengthy and I am sure there is something to please everyone’s palete. They have fusion rolls that does not even contain fish. We ordered the Burning Man roll and also the A&M roll. Both were extremely tasty. We also ordered combination fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and general tso chicken. Compared to other Chinese restaurants, I think this restaurant does all three of those items extremely well.
One of the true tests of good chinese food in my opinion, is how well it reheats and tastes the next day. The food tasted just as good the next day! Tose was definitely worth a try and we will be back!

Very good sushi! I have been to all the high-​end sushi places in Houston, and I was impressed with everything given the location. The décor is very nice, clean, and upscale. Pricing is very good for what you get. Very friendly and attentive staff. Made for a great date night. Will come back!

The best sushi ishave ever found in Houston area. The service is very considerate, and i was treated as an old friend friend there. the fresh sushi digged out my interest in this most healthy and delicious Japanese food. everything is perfect!

Okay, so I gave Tose another shot today, and the pleasant owner was one reason that I decided to try them again very soon. I had a much better experience this time.
I came in at just after 11 and was seated this time (and much more promptly than before). The only issues I had during my visit were that the server took a while to take my drink order and that it was pretty warm in the restaurant. However, the food was very good and high quality, and the service was polite and prompt after I put in my drink order. The crab puffs were big and very flavorful; some of the best I’ve had anywhere. The Black Dragon roll that I had was beautiful to look at and was also fresh, full of flavor, and had a nice ratio of toppings/​fillings to rice. Iced tea was fresh and delicious.
The restaurant was clean and had nice, modern music playing at a reasonable volume.
Thanks for the much improved second visit. It’s nice to be able to finally eat at a place I meant to try.

Tose Steak and Sushi is one of the best places to go in Pearland. They have a huge variety of sushi, and have never disappointed. I’ve eaten there a
couple of times and I always leave satisfied. The food always taste fresh, the environment is perfect and the service is excellent. The owner always comes out to greet his clients, and they do a great job in keeping the restaurant clean and presentable. Most of the time it’s for dine in, but they also deliver! Not ally of places deliver sushi. Definitely recommend it to everyone.

We love having someplace so close that delivers sushi. We have tried at least ½ the sushi rolls on the menu and they are all tasty and never had an issue with it now tasting really fresh. Have also had quite a few of the the regular menu items and it’s always good.
Only thing I can say I won’t order again is the hot and sour soup, which I usually am a big fan of, but everything else is so good, I just opt to get miso soup instead. Service has always been good when we have dined in and delivery is usually fast and accurate.

Improving. The most recent visit was tasty, taste in service, and came with free appetizers as the chefs made use of salmon that needed cooking. Decent prices, but not a steal.
The first time we came here was ages ago, before their liquor license, and when the credit card machines were on the fritz, and when only one waiter was handling the restaurant.

Easy to find. Good parking options. Genuinely friendly staff. Food was top notch. We ordered calamari, shrimp egg rolls and crab puffs for appetizers. All were equally enjoyable. My main entrée was the Hibachi Shrimp which was accompanied with soup, salad and rice. Generously sized shrimp served with vegetables. The fried rice was perfect, not too oily or over cooked. The soup I chose was the clear soup which consisted of mushrooms and onion with a hint of ginger. Nice, fresh side salad. The Happy Sumo Roll entrée was also ordered and although I am not a sushi fan, I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it. Overall a great experience.

Food came out in decent time.
Sushi was ok, but the fish had a weird after taste (didn’t taste fresh), and the rice was a little under cooked.
Prices were reasonable and service was attentive. However the likelihood that I will be back is very slim.
