Although I have yet to go, this actual location is now Killen’s Steakhouse. I plan to go w my husband soon. Reading the reviews, I only hope for great service. I’m not concerned about the food… just the service. Cross my fingers!!! Lol!!! The stars mean nothing. 1÷24÷16

Yep. I knew if they didn’t change, management, they would close. They’re out and another well-known restaurant has announced they are buying the buying the building for their own expansion.

The best part of my $ 200 tab was literally the bread and sweet butter! Every thing was over priced on the dinner menu …3 tiny bacon wrapped scallops at $ 24NOTWORTHIT! Ceviche no flavor besides bitter mango… Rockefeller oysters… horrible, under cooked, extremely large and poor quality oyster… Crab cakes were ok but nothing fancy or chunks of crab more like a mixture pasty crab cake! Horrible service! Your better off going into town for real seafood at Papadeaux or down the street to Baytown seafood for a fraction of the price! Extremely disappointed ! I predict that this place will be shut down by christmas!

Food is over priced. Service is slow & the manager actually allows the servers to sit @ empty tables while idling. Crawfish was good but the 3lbs I ordered were probably closer to 1.5lbs. Sadly, We won’t be back. We’ve tried it twice & had the same complaints each time. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Started out with the raw oyster special. They were fresh and clean. Also had the calamari which was not chewy but just bland seasoning wise. The three stars are based on their crawfish which was actually tasty. The seasoning wasn’t the usual salt based stuff that gets thrown on top at the end. These were actually cooked in a tasty blend that looked like it also contained onions and garlic. Someone in the kitchen knew what they were doing with them. The special 3lbs for ten dollars I thought was worth it. The other person in my party had the beer battered shrimp and said that they were not good at all. The cole slaw had no taste and was more like a dry salad. Overall yes crawfish wise but everything else was so so. Side note… the place is actually really nice and they have a huge patio area and our server was attentive.

I wanted to like this place, but… They were so hit and miss. If you put the word steak in the name, then don’t set the tables with the cheapest paper napkins and plastic cups you can find. Train the staff. Our server, while as nice as could be, was lacking in several ways. Our app dishes sat until we piled them up at the edge of the table. My iced tea refill contained no ice, warm tea didn’t exactly hit the spot. My wife asked what«loaded» mashed potatoes contained. As a 30 year vegetarian, she didn’t want to be served meat. We were assured that they contained no meat. I’m pretty sure bacon is a meat. The food itself was good. Really tasty and had a lot of eye appeal. It was like steakhouse food at a jack in the box.

Wow we really wanted crawfish. It’s usually good to be hungry when you go to a restaurant. Not in this case. We waited over an hour. One of us got food and half an hour later, still no crawfish. We ate some crackers and eventually had to leave. Terrible experience. Fix it or close for good.

Came for crawfish only and they were good size and seasoned perfectly. Only $ 3.33 lb on a Saturday afternoon and as good as anywhere I’ve ever had them. Molly the waitress was awesome. For crawfish this place is 2 thumbs up.

Where to begin? For starters, looked at the menu many times before we dined on Saturday, March 21, 2015. Including one more look at the online menu on their own website that same day. Saw several possibilities for dinner so my wife, her father and I went there. Arrived to several cars in the lot so it looked popular ‘ish. Was sat promptly and started with drink orders(tea, water) and appetizers of fried calamari(very good and served with cocktail sauce and sweet chili sauce) and lobster mac n cheese(where exactly was the lobster?) maybe it was just the shells used when pasta was cooking but there was no lobster in this dish. Service was consistently slow, every time we asked for something, it took about 10 – 15 minutes for that to get to our table(extra napkins, or another place setting bc one was missing, refills — drinks lacked ice, so extra cup of ice) Their menu, see note above about looking the same day before going… As we were ready to order dinner, just about every option I wanted was not available(reason given is new cooks in kitchen, so perhaps conflicts between cooks and owner are causing high turnover). There is no Bacon Wrapped Scallops under Signature Entrees, NO Cowboy Steak, Flat Iron Steak and Pork Chop under Beef section. Had to settle for some beer battered shrimp on an entirely new section of the menu. Very soft as if they sat around after being fried. Coleslaw that came with order was very vinegary, looks like they used a red wine vinegar vs. white. Horrible flavor. Salad order before entrée was a wedge, not bad but more dressing needs to go on the wedge of lettuce as I’m scrapping the plate clean to get just a smidgen of it on the bites. My wife and her dad has the same thing. Some kind of beach party platter(under same new menu section). Comes with Steamed dungeoness(sp?) crab legs, peel and eat shrimp, 2 pieces of andouelle sausage, potatoes and corn(likely from crawfish boil). Corn was hard, potatoes seasoned. Two different orders going to the same table, one order had larger crab legs, and the other order they were way smaller. Why not split the difference and put one small and one large on both plates so it appears that both plates were a descent price vs. one feeling shorted. Desserts… Banana pudding was a huge portion and made me think they were trying to get rid of it. Tiramisu was ok but lacked that liquor flavor. Crème brûlée wasn’t horrible but I’ve had better had far cheaper establishments. We inquired about Malibu pineapple cake and Chocolate suicide but both of those are no longer on the menu, according to our server. All in all, not exactly as they put it on their website: ***The Best Steak House is Here*** «New Concept of Fine Dining Where Fun Meets Sophistication» It’s completely a false misrepresentation of a steak house and I could have spent the same money at Saltgrass, TLC, Roadhouse, etc. and gotten 3 times the value.

I really tried to like this place I ate here three times. The first time I thought maybe they had a bad day. The second time I it was better, because the patio atmosphere was nice. THETHIRD and LAST time was today. Cold crawfish and bad service. I never complained because I just knew I’d never spend another dollar with these guys. Not to mention the manager Jody piss poor attitude when we walked in. Another table was complaining while we were eating. Also, I NEVER got silverware for my meal I got up and got it myself. Message to owners: Never take a day off and get better team members. Jody doesn’t care if your business does well.

I was excited when this place opened. Pearland is so full of chains and I Love to take the chance to support«Maw and Paw» restaurants. When they first opened, I read all the reviews here and decided to give them time to get more stable. A few weeks ago I saw on FB they had $ 5.00 crawfish on Saturday and Sunday. So, my husband and I went to try it out. They were out of crawfish. She said they had ran out that Friday evening. I didn’t say anything but I was thinking they should’ve updated their facebook page. But, while we are here, we will enjoy the $ 1 Oyster special. Thank God we got there when we did because we got the last 12 Oysters they had. We had sat at the bar so we could get the feel of the place. They were out of all the beers except Bud Light and Miller Lite. I had asked her if the gumbo was spicy and she brought me a sample which was nice. Thank God I didn’t pay for it. The chicken tasted like canned chicken. There was no spice at all. Plus, it had okra in it. To me, okra is a filler. Blah!!! I would still like to try their crawfish. She was saying customers’ were bragging how awesome it is. That alone makes me curious. I still plan on going just to see since they’re only $ 5 but I don’t see myself ever going there to eat.

I should have paid closer attention to the reviews already posted on Unilocal. The service was SLOW but food was alright. Nothing to brag about. That’s the only reason I gave 2 stars. No host/hostess to seat you. We waited for nearly 5 minutes before deciding to just sit at the bar. Later we found out the host was one of the owners who was also waiting on tables and getting drinks from the bar. Occasionally he would go the the hostess stand to seat people waiting. Speaking of the bar, there was only one bartender on duty, with no bar back, and the place was very busy for a Tuesday, so we were told. Didn’t realize until after we paid out and tipped, that the bartender was one of the OWNERS of the establishment. Something is just wrong with that whole scenario. Why was the owner bartending and collecting tips?! We had a LivingSocial deal so we got $ 100 of food for $ 50. That deal was really the only upside to the night. Don’t plan on returning anytime in the future. Get your act together and hire full staff.

We found this place completely randomly after our plan to eat at Grazia Italian Kitchen was usurped by the 45-minute wait time. The parking lot here wasn’t very full, which was odd for a Friday evening. Décor and theme of the place is weird — I’m not familiar with the history of it, but it doesn’t look like it was originally built to be a restaurant. We ordered drinks, and weren’t disappointed with them, and the spinach artichoke dip. The dip is the best I have ever had, and it’s a huge serving — highly recommended. The menu itself is pretty limited, a few sandwiches and burgers, a handful of seafood dishes and some $ 45 steaks. My husband ordered the coconut-crusted mahi and I ordered the shrimp étouffée. His mahi was served lukewarm, like it had been sitting for a while. My étouffée was hot, but had maybe three shrimp in the whole dish. Still, it was seasoned nicely and was a nice-sized helping. Final verdict is a 6⁄10. We had no issues with the service or with the food itself, except for the lukewarm mahi. We would go back.

I was going to give 4.5 stars but I think they deserve more. I like this place. The waitress was extremely nice. The owner came by to greet us also and offered $ 1 mimosas. Which of course I said«yes»! :) We had the crab cakes –very good Lobster mac and cheese – my son loved it The seafood platter – was okay but you can’t go wrong with that Shrimp scampi – buttery and fresh veggie/shrimp which made it above avg. I had the grilled oysters –very good and fresh. Their oysters were $ 1 each and an awesome deal. The restaurant was not fully packed but had 5 – 7 other tables there. I would definitely come back for service and daily specials. Nice that it’s in Pearland. Good luck to the owners :)

The bar was Nice. It’s so needed in Pearland. I think the restaurant should have live music to liven the space. We ordered vodka tonics and cape cods. Based on previous reviews I watched the pour and was good with the amount of liquor. We ordered gumbo and bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp at the bar. Both were tasty. We visited on a Saturday night as an afterthought with free time. We were pleasantly surprised with the space. I would definitely have a dinner party or dinner date at this restaurant. The manager tells me that there is live music here Wednesday and Friday! I’ll check it out and update this review.

«Was the night the lights went out in Pearland(at least in my neighborhood)» about 5:00 pm yesterday, so we decided to try this new place out instead of trying to cook outside in the dark. We should have known something was not right when we pulled into a nearly empty parking lot a 6:00 pm on a Saturday night. Upon entering we were a little surprised to find we were the only dinner guests in the entire restaurant. We were pleased with the updated décor, very nice. However, that was just about our last bit of pleasure. Upon seating we ordered 2 glasses of house Pinot Grigio(my mistake for not asking the price of house wine). The glasses we did receive were carefully measured in the smallest vials of house wine I have ever seen. We were served a complementary sampling of 4 good tastes of semi-warm soups, however serving them in little plastic catsup cups did match the cheap paper napkins(instead of cloth napkins expected at a place this expensive). We ordered Ceasar salad, «grilled» Rainbow Trout and the veal chop special. Had the ask the waiter what sides and how was the veal chop cooked as no explanation was offered, nor did the menu have any details. Salad was good, veal chop average(a little tough), but the Grilled Rainbow Trout was a disaster(I should have taken a picture). It was not grilled but baked and served on a very unappetizing bed of aluminum foil. Ii was virtually flavorless and very overcooked. We did notice only 2 other tables had been occupied when we finished our dinner. Had plenty of help though! Asked for the check, and was very surprised to see the $ 10.00 per glass charge for House Wine. With 2 glasses each… that meant that over 40% of our meal was for 4 very small pours of wine. FYI, our waiter did receive the best customary 20% tip as he was attentive, but he can’t be held responsible for overpricing and poor execution. Next time the lights go out at dinner, I’ll spend a little more money and hope we can get into Killan’s.
