Stopped here for the first time and really enjoyed the food. There is a variety on the menu and worth stopping to try the food. The owners took the time to say hi and talk about their food. I took home food for the family to try and we all agreed we will be back.

This is an unpretentious little place in a small strip plaza. I was drawn in by the presence of frogs legs on the menu. We were welcomed when we entered and presented with a complimentary tasting of their gumbo, along with hush puppies, after we were seated. The gumbo was plenty good, so my wife and I ordered a bowl as appetizer. For mains, I got the frogs legs(of course), which were large pieces(previously frozen) dipped in homemade cajun cornmeal batter and fried. My wife got the blackened catfish. I’ve had frogs legs before, but always sauteed. I think the batter overwhelmed the delicate flavor of the legs, which I discussed with the chef. He offered to sautee a batch upon request during my next visit. The blackened fish were pretty good. The hush puppies were made of the same cornmeal batter and came to the table fresh from the kitchen … tasty little critters. The service was exceptional … very friendly and responsive. I appreciated the opportunity to speak with the owner/chef. He welcomed my comments as we chatted about the different preparations. The place is a little hard to find, but I think you will be pleased with the food and the service. I am inclined to return at some point and see how they do with sauteed frog legs.

Just finished eating at D&G’s and I was pleasantly surprised with the authentic Cajun taste of my meal. I started off with the delicious chicken and sausage gumbo which was served very hot but to me that is extremely important. For my main course I had the blackened red fish with steamed green beans and carrots along with Cajun rice. The dish took a while to arrive and when it did I could understand why because in my opinion the food was very fresh not premade so there was the taste of a high-quality to the meal which I don’t mind waiting a little bit longer for. D&G’s is a little out-of-the-way but if you’re in the Pearland area stop in and give them a try.

I really wanted to like this place, small, family owned, good southern service… what’s not to like? However, I was more than disappointed with the customer service. I ordered an entrée that was way too salty, it was a blackened fish. My waiter, took personal offense to my critique of the dish, and in his words said«if you don’t want it, that’s on you». He gathered my plate, returned it to the kitchen and only returned to our table to bring the bill. I was never given the option to select a different entrée. His tone and attitude made it very clear that he was no longer interested in making me happy as a customer. I really felt bad for sending it back, but it was so salty that I couldnt taste or enjoy my food. My husband alao tasted it, and urged me to send it back. First rule of business is that the customer is always right. You can’t take it personally if someone has an issue with their food. You attempt to do damage control by offering a different selection, and if the customer declines you are off the hook. I have worked in a small, family owned restaurant so I am speaking from experience. There are too many places to eat in Houston for me to revisit them.

I had the stuffed crab with a baked potato and my husband got the chicken fried steak and gumbo. Both were delicious! The owner was so nice and even gave us samples of the gumbo so we could try it! Their desserts are also homemade! Extremely nice wait staff(probably because they all own the restaurant!) I would definitely come back to this place and try the Cajun fried chicken!

Tried this place for the first time today & it was definitely worth it! My fiancée and I got the buffet which was a great decision because we were able to sample a lot of the food on their menu. Let me just say that the fried fish & fried chicken were my favorite! The staff was super attentive and very friendly. This place is family owned and they definitely make you feel that as soon as you walk through the door. I can’t recommend this place enough. I will def be back!

Really enjoyed the food here!!! It’s a new seafood restaurant that has recently opened and I’m glad, Pearland is spread thin with seafood restaurants. I had the fried catfish and shrimp on this visit and I was impressed. Had a chance to taste the gumbo, I was actually offered a free sample and it was really good.

Very good home cooking. It felt as though Mom was in the kitchen. The cajun fried was made fresh and my girlfriend had the shrimp and it was awesome too. We will be back soon. Jasmine will take very good care of you.

I can’t get enough of D&Gs! What a treat to finally have some Southern Cajine food in Pearland. I’ve tried Mexican, American & seafood dishes and have not been disappointed. Kids enjoy the thick seasoned fries, chicken strips, nachos, mini cheeseburgers, corn dogs… The menu is well rounded and there’s even homemade desserts! Love the family atmosphere and the chef is throwing down! Must try! You will be hooked.
