My sister in law just graduated high school, so we excitedly made our way to my hubby’s hometown in the North Shore of Boston to help celebrate! Like many New Englanders, families are HUGE, so parties are like full blown festivals and reunions. So, while the party was inching closer, my mother in law quickly realized we needed catering, and we absolutely couldn’t do it all, and we needed the help! I jumped on Unilocal, and literally called about 9 local catering companies. Not only did we get a whole slew of quotes from high to low, the biggest common denominator was the blattently rude customer service… until we reached Santoros. We were blown away by Melissa! She was patient, helpful, and thoughtfully contributed to a menu plan! The pickup, the flavors, the pricing, the presentation, the convenience, the customer service, was thoroughly remarkable! Honestly, Melissa could’ve been the most expensive and could’ve had the worst tasting food and we would’ve still ordered from her because of her excellence! This is it. Order your catering from Santoro’s!

Stopped in on a Sunday for late lunch. It’s a typical local sandwich shop, with a few tables and a counter to order. They also sell cheese and cold cuts. They have a Huge menu of sandwiches. I was quite impressed by the service — really friendly and helpful(let me try a meatball as I was considering a meatball sub). The meatball was fine, reminded me of spaghettio’s meatballs. I ended up going w the cheesesteak sub. Got peppers, onions, cheese — all of which cost extra, which is sorta annoying. Cheesesteak should come w those things automatically. The sandwich itself was fine — exactly i expected, full of meat and pretty oily. Not much flavor otherwise. Like the meatball — solid but nothing impressive. And I wish it was incredible — the staff was so nice I want nothing more than to rave. But alas, I shan’t tell a lie.

This was Santoro’s when I was a kid and it’s still very good. The bread was fresh and tasty and the Italian with everything on it was delicious. The tuna, old fashioned style, was a little soggy.

Ordered 8 box lunches for delivery with little notice and was pleasantly surprised by the great customer service, attention to detail and thoroughness. My order came on time and everything was delicious! Simple and straightforward, with all the special requests I asked for. Great option!

New leader in the clubhouse. In my quest to find the best cheesesteak(or in my case steak bomb) Santoros is the best so far. Let me break it down: First the roll, soft and fresh no tasting like something you get from sisco Next topping, the peppers and the onions. These peppers tastes as though the were a roasted pepper and for that onions tasted and looked like they were carmelized ahead of time. This not a bad thing at all because there were big noticeable pieces of both that added a dept of flavor that you just don’t get from chopped raw veggies and cooking them along with the meat. Finally the meats and cheese. There were two or more full pieces of salami in this sandwich, not the usual one piece diced up like most places do. The cheese. This sub came with mozzarella, not American. I realize if I want Mozzarella at any other place all I have to do is ask. The cheese was very stringy and melty but not over bearing. As for the steak it self, for the most part I think most places use the same type of steak but here it was less greasy and maybe a little better quality. Needless to say when I’m sitting on the couch craving a steak bomb I know where I’m headed and you should be too.

I’ve had Santoro’s subs for years. My mother worked in Peabody and this was a dinner-time favorite. I went for a Large Tuna sub($ 6) today at lunch and remember why their tuna is so, SO good. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the prices are very reasonable. They also have daily specials of subs and hot food items. The sub was packed with white tuna(good mayo portion, not to dry or wet) with lettuce chopped up into the tuna. Every bite is delicious with tuna and lettuce, pickle, and tomato. My friend got the Large Roast Beef($ 6.50) and it was filled with rare roast beef and cheese. The rolls are soft and fresh. Great prices and service. 5 stars

Its nothing fancy but the subs are amazing! I think the cheeseburger sub is genius. It’s a cheeseburger on a sub roll! Who knew? We didn’t order the eggplant but it looked great and there were a ton of people coming in and ordering it. It seems that the shop is big catering spot. It’s very dingy and old-school inside but the food is spot-on. We are going to be headed there often when we need a sub.

solid deli chain. had the chicken cutlet sub, which was the sub of the day so it was only 4.75 for a large. they do it right, with provolone on the bottom, meat sauce and sprinkle of parm on top. it was wicked huge. i ate half and plan on eating the other half as soon as i get my drink on later tonight. they do not have a washroom and it was wicked cold inside… but to their credit it was 8 freakin degrees out at the time.
