This place is awesome. Affordable sushi and great drinks! The only flaw to this place is parking. Other than that, I can’t think of anything.

I really do love this place. Their sushi rolls are unique and creative, and everything I’ve tried has been delicious. My husband is not much of a sushi fan but I was craving Maki tonight, and to his pleasant surprise we found a buffalo chicken roll on the menu– it looked so good I had to try a bite, and it tasted just like a mini buffalo chicken wrap in sushi form! Great for those who may not be a huge fan of the whole raw fish factor. Every time I’ve been here, either for dine-in or take-out, service has been very friendly. Don’t let the exterior fool you, the interior is cozy & clean. Give Maki a try, you won’t be disappointed!

God do I love this place! Tropical roll and the Mexican steal my heart every time! The spicy edamame is perfectly seasoned, tataki seared just right, and who doesn’t love a well presented mochi to end it all?! I always come here for my special occasions and have never been let down by a flaw. Staff is tentative and punctual, clean restaurant, beautifully presented dishes. I’m rather picky and only have 1 other sushi place that I’ll eat at in MA, so good job Maki for surpassing my expectations!

Average atmosphere– but that’s nobigdeal to me. Sushi boat for two is excellent! Food was very fresh, and I love that every single piece is stuff you want, no filler items. Artful presentation. Will order sushi boat for two again, and again!

Cute dining area with a low key atmosphere. We sat the the bar which can fit maybe 6 – 7 people max. We picked a couple of maki and let the server surprised us with her choice and she picked the Firecracker Roll which was amazing! Highly recommended for the sushi enthusiast to try! The green tea mochi for dessert was unexpectedly tasteless but was well presented.

This place never fails to please me. Addicted to their Sushi Pizza! The staff there is really nice . Casual attire, relaxed, great place to catch up with friends, etc. Serves beer, wine and mix drinks. Must try the jalapeño sushi, it’s just right. Not a harsh taste of spice, not even spicy but tastes great. :p Enjoy!

Prices is a little high. They did have a groupon but discontinued it for some reason. Their rolls are great, and I would give them 5 stars if it weren’t for the price and if their drinks were better. Their Mai Tais are weak! All of their alcoholic beverages are very tame. I’m not looking to get drunk of one drink, but compared to their competitors you can get sushi just as good or better with a better drink down the road. Hans garden in Swampscott or Tokyo Steak House on 114 for example.

This was the first time my boyfriend and I have ever gotten food from here and we were pretty disappointed. We ordered a beef teriyaki roll, a sweet potato roll and a lava roll– we did not like any of them. They were very small and so bland. My boyfriend wouldn’t even eat the lava roll after the first few bites because it was just not good I’m hoping our poor quality food was just due to it being take out– we will give it another shot and eat there –but it certainly won’t be my first choice id much rather go to blue fin in Middleton

Great sushi! Service very attentive. Prices are a little high in my opinion and they’re in need of better parking that’s why I didn’t give it 5 stars. Still love this place though

Their service was very good & they’re very welcoming! It’s friendly atmosphere & the customers are pleased & they’re nice! The sushi combo is excellent, I didn’t order anything else but it also comes w/miso soup & the garden salad! Their dressing has seasoning on top of it & it taste delicious too! They have kids meals & they are reasonable prices unlike Fuji in Assembly Sq charge you like an Adult!

Hands down my favorite place for sushi. Good prices. Amazing food and yummy drinks! I highly recommend the pineapple passion. My favorite sushi roll is the Diablo roll. Perfect if you like spicy!

I have three stars because of the service and drinks. The service was slow but when the place filled up made it worse. The drinks are good but they pack it with ice and once you remove the ice you end up with half of what you paid for. ASK for little ice. The food tho was amazing so fresh and delicious. I can’t say one bad thing about the food. I see why they were voted best sushi by the north shore. Definitely must try I will be going again

Food was ok, but wouldn’t go out of my way to go again. Server wasn’t very good, waited way to long for her to take our drink order and we were the only customers in the place. Drinks were yummy but had to ask twice for water. She seemed a little distracted and not really interested in her customers.

My wife and I have been to Maki on several occasions. Their sushi does not disappoint. Whether it be their crab rangoon roll or simply a piece of yellow tail, you are sure to be in for some high quality sushi. Since we moved to the area we’ve tried many sushi places and other simply don’t compare to Maki. As a side note, if you like dessert(and I know you do) try their deep fried wonton wrapped bananas drizzled with honey, and served with ice cream.

Okay, for starters I’m not a sushi snob, but I do know what to expect when I go to a sushi place. First of all, the waitstaff is pretty good for the most part. They are friendly and efficient. However, the turnover rate seems to be high. The ambiance is odd. It should be a little darker and the music should be a little louder. You can hear everything the person is saying next to you. It’s uncomfortable. It’s clean and well kept though. The food: the rolls are good, but kind of small. That’s not really my problem with this place. We’ve been several times just to make sure it wasn’t a freak thing… the wait is FOREVER! We went on a Wednesday night, with a couple other tables there and waited 45 minutes for three rolls. They need to hire another chef. If you don’t mind the wait – give it a try!

The sushi pizza is amazing! The quality of the fish is good. My only complaint is it seems every time I go now the rolls are getting smaller and smaller. I hope this isn’t the trend as I love the sushi here, but if the rolls continue to be tiny I won’t be coming back. Ive been probably 5 – 7 times and had great rolls, but these last two times i’ve had barely any rice in them. Great desserts!

I first discovered this place via a Groupon, and then further researched it here on Unilocal before giving it a shot. I’m so glad I did, as it’s become me and my family’s favorite place. When I first pulled up, it looked like a hole in the wall, and the on-street parking is a real pain in the ass. There have even been times where the place was so packed, I waited an hour for my food to arrive. But you know what? It’s totally worth the parking, location, wait or whatever else some day may come up. Because the food is just so good. So fresh. There’s a large menu of standard sushi rolls, but also plenty of specials on rotation. What I really enjoy the most is the Bento Box. Good to the point my family and I will all barter and trade dumplings, or tempura veggies with each other to maximize our enjoyment. The soup and salad it comes with is also excellent. Love the spicy ginger dressing. We go back probably twice a month for the Bento Box, so this review is long overdue. It’s not on the menu, but we once had deep-fried Oreos with ice cream and chocolate sauce around Halloween that was glutinous and delicious. Love this place, and I will keep coming back.

My girlfriend and I went on a Wednesday night, armed with a Groupon. We were strong. Place was fine — typical sushi place, with seats at the sushi bar and bar bar as well. Started with a bottle of sake, which the bar tender suggested. Menu had no prices and when the bill came we discovered that it was about $ 30 — which we would’ve known that beforehand. For appetizers, we ordered seaweed salad and tempura vegetables. The Seaweed salad was fine — lots of sesame seeds. Tempura veggies were good — broccoli, big sweet potato slices, onion rings, and small zucchini slices. Covered in some breading and fried, with a soy sauce of some sort. Nice. Full plate of them. For sushi, we go the Firecracker maki, sunset maki, and rainbowroll. The rolls were great — quality fish, really nice presentation on the plate, and quite tasty. Rainbow roll was done in a circle around some carrots and greens. Firecracker sushi was laid out in a snake-like line. Pretty cool. The role itself was fine — not as impressive as the other two. Overall good sushi place. We’re closer to Kame in Beverly, so will stick with them for now, but if close, would definitely come back.

Most extensive selection of rolls I’ve ever seen at a sushi place. However, the fish across all rolls is not very diverse– mostly shrimp or some tempura’d fish, so it took me a long time to decide. However, the rolls we did get were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the butterfly roll. We were skeptical of the fruit on top but it was absolutely delicious. The peabody roll was also really good. The sashimi I got wasn’t the best(I got tuna) as it was a little rubbery, but the roll selection made up for it. Also, this place was packed on a Monday night. Definitely has made a name for itself!
