Tolo’s is not bad but you can do much better. They’re fish and chips are good but you can get them from other places that are even better. Pretty much whatever I had there you can get better anywhere else. The clam cakes there sometimes have a vinegar taste too them.

Time to update this a little. Tolos has updated their menu to include burritos, tacos and the like. We tried the beef Fajitas last night and they are excellent. Everything is made in-house, the meat, the salsa etc. Just more food that can’t be beat. Fresh salsa is something you just don’t get out of a can or at a franchise fast food place. My son tried the fried chicken which none of us had tried before, we go for the seafood. The chicken was great and I’ve been assigned the task of replicating it at home. In short: More good stuff added to the good food that was already available. If you don’t try the place you’re missing out on a true gem in RI.

Nice place for take out. Stuffies better than most. Crab Cakes were a bit greasy. Whole belly clams were on small side. I would go back to try some other items. Need to research what is house made and what is not. Will update soon.

So I live right down the street from this little place and decided to check it out after reading the reviews on Unilocal.I must say, I agree with you guys, it is fresh and delicious! When I walked in, I was promptly greeted by the friendly guy behind the counter, who I later found out was the owner. He let us know a little about the menu and suggested some items to get. I got the fish sandwich which was lightly battered and not very greasy at all. Very yummy! The prices are cheap, too. It’s definitely a random little place in Pawtucket but I suggest checking it out if you want some fried seafood without driving to south county.

A typical Rhode Island fried seafood joint, serving all the usual stuff. Whole clams, squid, etc. are market price every day, and market price is really reasonable. The owner is scrupulous about frying the shellfish and the scrod for fish and chips in different oil, which is nice. Fish and chips come with a crispy, light batter, and everything is fresh. Salads are also available. The owner let us try codfish cakes the last time I was there, and they’re delicious, made with lots of mustard and celery seed. I don’t come here often, but I like to take my out-of-town guests here for a quick RI seafood meal when they’re in town. It’s closer than Iggy’s if you live in Providence or Pawtucket, and it’s not as crowded.
