Best etliekmek in the area, try it which is like a pizza with ground beef, meat and vegetables instead of cheese.

On a recent trip to Istanbul, we learned that a good charcoal-fired grill run by a master grill chef can produce the most delicious meat in the world. When we got home we started combing through the Turkish restaurants in nearby Paterson, looking for the flavor closest to some of the legendary grill houses of Istanbul. This is the place. The Turkish stuffed breads and pizzas(lachmajoun) are crisp and smoky. The kebabs are juicy and perfectly seasoned, mostly with charcoal smoke. The Iskender Kebab with yogurt and thick tomato sauce is currently my wife’s favorite dish at any restaurant, and, as usual, she is completely correct. This is a small place with just one thoroughly wonderful server, so don’t expect anything fancy. Just the best Turkish Grill food in Paterson.

It was our first time at Yakamoz. We ordered, cigkofte, Turkish pepperoni pide, yogurt drink«ayran» and Adana kebab with yogurt. As the server recommended their homemade ayran, we decided to try it out. Yogurt they used was savory, but the combination with high salt wasn’t refreshing. Cigkofte was well made, simply delicious. Adana kebab with yogurt was tasty as well. We didn’t like pepperoni pide. It was really greasy, pepperoni they used for topping wasn’t high quality. We had to press napkins on it to get extra grease out. It tasted like pizza, but with slender shape of crust. Service was average. I expected to get our main dishes all at the same time. Our first main dish came 20min after we ordered and our second main dish came literally when we finished the first one. We were starving hungry and the food wasn’t disgusting or anything so we ate it all anyway. Ambiance was poor. Wall colors and overall décor were outdated. They put plastic flowers all around which made the place look basic. There were too many tables for such small restaurant. My back was touching someone else’s back when I leaned back in my seat. Customers were loud. The only thing I loved about the interior was the cleanliness. I especially loved how clean their restrooms were. Overall, I don’t think anything was exceptional about this place.

Unassuming gem with good food… Very much a family establishment. Great lahmacun(kind of thin pizza with no cheesse), tantuni(kind of a turkish taco/fajita), adana, ezme, icli kofte…

While the food itself was good, we were EXTREMELY disappointed in the portion size we received. Very unreasonable price for the portion size. We are not ordering from here again. For authentic Turkish cuisine and reasonable prices, I would recommend Toros instead.

We stopped here after visiting the Patterson Falls. The food was very good, the place was very clean. We were treated with tremendous hospitality and graciousness. Would be happy to come again and try other menu items as we enjoyed all of our meals. Prices were also very reasonable.

Tantuni is the best if you want to go with a sandwich. And you should definitely try kunafah. A Levantine cheese pastry soaked in sweet sugar-based syrup. Best kunefe in tri state are I would say.

This was such a wonderful experience. We had fresh Bronzini, soup and hummus. After the food a fresh tea was given us as complimentary. The service was excellent. I can’t express enough how fresh everything was. Thank you for everything. We will come back.

Ok so the food was great and I’d highly recommend you try this place but if you do come here, come with patience because the waitress was terribly slow. She was a nice old lady which makes you shy to not yell at her — which sucks because you can’t really express how you feel. Took us a good 15 minutes to request the bill. I was honestly just about to walk out because it was just so frustrating. Then I see a help wanted waitress needed sign– in the window and it relaxed me abit to know the owner was feeling my pain. Lol… Try it for the food but like I said go there when you’re not hungry. By the time you get your food you’ll have gained your appetite.

Normally, I like thjs place, but I never eat there, unless someone else picks it. It has some decent Turkish food. It doesn’t really stand out, at least not to me. It’s good in a pinch. The last time I ate there my lamacun was hard, like a frisbee. Meh.

Very disappointing. Have had Turkish food many times, but never had such bland, shabbily prepared(?) food as in here. The Doner sandwich we ordered came in a regular roll instead of Turkish bread. The restaurant reeked of urine smell from the toilet. NEVER will go back! Shudder!

This place is fantastic. I guess the best place in Paterson. They have traditional Turkish foods which they make so delicious. The prices are very suitable too. Some of the best options which I can recommend are; 1)Bicak Arasi(Turkish flat bread with chopped meat) 2) Kapli kiymali kasarli Pide(Closed flat bread with ground beef and kashkaval cheese) 3)and all of the kebab options PS: I strongly recommend you to taste TANTUNI. The chef who is the owner of that restaurant makes it really very delicious.

Good value, wholesome food; lentil soup came with a stack of bread and was served up instantly. Nice inside to boot.
