Syraan Restaurant & Cafe

First time here with wife and my two kids. This restaurant has only been open for 6 months but it’s actually a chain from Palestine.
Very child friendly and very good authentic Palestinian cuisine. Delicious hummus/​falafel and their $ 30 family platter is more than enough for two along with some apps.
Will come back.

Came here to try a new spot in Paterson. Not bad, very spacious and clean food was good. Nothing too unique.

Came in on a random Monday night at almost 9pm. It was almost completely empty but service was great and we were not rushed at all.
We checked in for the free hummus and falafel as an app, and we’re given 2 other dips for the pita bread and coleslaw. Everything was awesome. We split the syraan bbq as an entrée — it included a shrimp skewer, chicken shish kebabs, lamb, and (I believe) ground beef shish as well, along with rice and a delicious salad with tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, and peppers. The full dinner for 2 was just about $ 30 and we left with leftovers. Everything was very flavorful and I would go back in a heartbeat. Only negative thing I can say is I wish it was byo, but nothing you can do about that!

Middle East is the home to one of the richest cuisines in the world, however, there isn’t really much of authentic Middle Eastern restaurants in Philadelphia, where I reside. So, waking up in Paterson, and grabbing a freshly prepared breakfast, didn’t sound like a bad way to start the weekend.
At Syraan, you’ll be treated to some of the best traditional Arabian dishes anywhere in the states, and will certainly give you a sense of nostalgia.
After all, Syraan, translates to «picnic.» A picnic to scrumptious food, including mezze, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Here is a taste of the highlights. Feast your eyes on this.
Order the falafel balls (flavorful little crunchy balls,) fried Arabic cheese, pies (we got Zatar ‚) and you must try the foul (more like an Egyptian-​dish: mashed fave beans.)
Pro Tips:
— The prices are very reasonable, but I suggest getting the Unilocal deal ($ 25 for $ 35.)
— Don’t miss the Arabic coffee. So Freaking GOOD.
— Hookah at Hookah lounge. Separate room, other than the dining room.
— Very SPACIOUS. good for groups and special events.
— As most, if not all, Islamic restaurants, they do not serve alcohol. If you really need the buzz to enjoy the great good and enjoy your company, then get your fix before you go. Their restaurant, their rules. Nothing wrong with that!
— GO HUNGRY.

Great food, excellent service and a nice atmosphere. Visited this place a few times already and I was never disappointed. Make sure you try their fatteh w/​meat for breakfast. Best I ever had so far

Absolutely delicious food, beautiful ambiance, excellent service. Big portions and a great selection in their menu. Beats any other restaurant in Paterson. I don’t think I’ll return to LaZiza after this. Spacious, clean and gracious to their customers. Looks like they have a nice hookah space too. Can’t wait to come back.

Perfect for business meetings, occasions, family gatherings, and even dinner for two. Food is great with a nice Middle Eastern theme to it, along with fast and friendly service.

Very spacious and relaxing restaurant. Great for group parties and it’s not noisy so it’s perfect for a friend get together. Servers were friendly and the food was delicious. Would definitely come back.

I was really impressed by Syraan! The restaurant was very spacious without feeling empty or uncomfortable, and the service was wonderful. The waitress had great knowledge of the menu and was able to explain the dishes we weren’t familiar with very well. They gave us a few extra side dishes to sample on the house which was extremely thoughtful, and they were great additions! I ordered the Kofta Kebab that came with rice and salad and was a hefty portion leaving me with leftovers for lunch tomorrow (I’m more than happy to be eating this two days in a row!). We then had dessert and coffee and hookah in the hookah room. The hookah was very reasonably priced, as was everything else we had for dinner. The cheesecake was subpar, but I honestly didn’t mind. All in all, had a great night and will be bringing my friends here in the future.

Well, I wanted to try this place. but they said they don’t serve alcohol and they also do not allow us to BYOB. Basically, no alcohol allowed.
It’s a shame because it looks like a nice place to have dinner, but on a Saturday night some people like to have some wine with dinner and unwind after a long week… oh well, guess we will have to go elsewhere. My rating is not for their food. as i have not tried it. it’s for their service or lack there of.

Syraan restaurant is an overall great environment. The food is absolutely delicious and comes In great portions. The staff are friendly and helpful in suggesting items. I may add it is GORGEOUS INSIDE! must try their food I Guarantee u satisfaction. :)

I’ve worked in Paterson for 20 years and I am always on the lookout for good restaurants. I stumbled upon Syraan a couple of months ago, shortly after it opened. It’s in a brand new building in South Paterson. I now go there on average around three times a week. The food is delicious, fresh, and healthy. I’ve tried everything on the lunch menu, which includes a choice between a range of wonderful salads to accompany the main course, and I’ve always been pleased. And you get it all for only $ 9.99!
