I work in Paterson Nj, so if you’re from around here there is really no healthy places to eat they have a lot of healthy options on their menu which is a big plus if you are a health nut. I love this place, the owner and the staff are excellent. The main cook Hasan is the best and always striving to make you happy with your order. The restaurant itself is in the border of Paterson and Clifton, I work dead center in the middle of Paterson, so taking the ride for lunch time away from the hustle and bustle of chaos is a big plus. The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful, soothing, and relaxing. During the spring and summer months you can enjoy your meal on the backside of the restaurant in their beautiful Patio, which adds to the allure of the Armenian experience.

We came on a quiet weekday evening. We knew from the décor, and from having been to the region, that this place looked legit. That oddly frumpy but wonderful combination of far East and Atlanta grandma? That’s a great sign. The place treats itself with respect, and just a little bit of the«over the top» style I saw in the near East. The music was a great touch, and I am now frantically googling to try and find Armenian mood music. So groovy. The food was, in a word, spectacular. My friends in the near east are foodies, and they took me to the best restaurants that the region has to offer. This is on par with those restaurants. You just don’t make a baba ganoush like this without an Armenian grandma I’m the kitchen. I’d tell you what you should try, but it all looked good. The kibbeh, the mezze, the luleh, all of it was excellent. Service was pleasant — this is a family restaurant in the truest sense, so you might have to be patient at times. But this is Armenian food — you should just be patient and enjoy it. I will definitely be back.

Excellent Armenian restaurant. 1) This is the only authentic Armenian restaurant I know in Northern Jersey. After searching all over for one. 2) The food is Amazing! We got Monte, sujuk, pilaf, beef and chicken kabob and my favorite Luleh. 3) Very Armenian. Me and my buddy were the only foreigners, rest were speaking Armenian. 4) Turkish, Armenian or Greek food are very similar. Kinda like McDonalds, Burger King, or Wendy’s. It depends on the tastes and preferences.

Awesome food! I tried a lunch platter; rice, salad, humus, and beef kabobs. The portion was good enough and the taste was amazing. The meat was so tender and juicy and seasoned just well enough. Staff are nice and polite. In short, I will come again and recommend the place.

I can’t find any reasons not to give this place 5 stars. The fatoush salad was so delicious, fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs, lemon juice, olive oil… wow. Felt like a healthy start indeed. They served feta and olives with pita… The shwarama was the best I’ve ever had anywhere. The quality of the lamb, the delicate spices in a savory light gravy over tender jasmine rice with fresh herbs made this dish one to return for. The interior is clean but way too bright. A slight adjustment of the seating area and a total revamp of the lighting would make this place more in line with the quality of the food they serve. Waitress was friendly, attentive. Definitely worth the trip.

I love her food but she is a very rude person and so are all of her workers. They have no respect for the customer and they talk to you like you need them and owe them something. I had to order food for new years’ eve to serve for a few guests I had coming from a different state and once they found out it’s a small order they didn’t care anymore and gave me the run around and every time I called to speak to her to confirm my order the guy that always picks up the phone he would tell me she is busy and what do i want? And he would hang up on me. Is this how one runs a business yet alone a restaurant catering business? If she is so busy that she can’t keep up, why doesn’t she hire more people to help her, I don’t get it. A customer is a customer, big or small orders.

I recommend Krichian’s to anyone who enjoys authentic middle eastern(Armenian) food. The basturma panini(lunch only), chi kofte and monte soup are all must try menu items.

What a hidden gem! Everything was really good. We ordered Humus, Babaganoug, Tabouli, Armenian Salad, Mixed grills, all delicious, freshly made and reasonably priced. The place was not busy on a Sat night which is very sad. They were short staffed, but we got our food fast. You got to try it to appreciate it. We’ll be going there again without a doubt.

Yesterday we had my newborn’s Baptism at Krichian’s. This is so far the best restaurant in NJ… The food, the service, the chef, and the employees are exceptional. I had a few friends from other counties attending the party, and they all admitted that that was the best food they had in the US. Lamb chops were a big hit! tender and absolutely delicious! We will be going back a lot even though we live an hour away. Thank you very much to Anahid and the kitchen team for making my baby’s big day so special!

Hands down my favorate place to eat a Shawarma sandwich! I believe this was the same place that used to be on Rt 4/Broadway in Fair Lawn long time ago and I was hooked on their Shawarma sandwich then and now that I found it on Crooks Ave, it did not disappoint me. The older gentleman was in the kitchen working up his magic. Have not eaten anything else there but looking forward to it. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!!!

I stopped by this place with great expectations they even had a sign saying«Best falafel in town» so I thought I take a chance, The cook or owner? didnt have gloves on and didnt wash his hands ?? Anyway I decided to go for it .The falafel sandwich i ordered wasnt really that great could have used some real Tahini and Tzatziki not the one from a jar? The stuffed grape leaves were very good Didnt know too much about the rest of the food nor did they make any suggestions?, But I would come again if I cant get to Wholefoods just for the falafel .:(The falafel sandwich from Wholefoods is soo good !

My wife and I have been customers ever since the original location was in nearby Elmwood Park. My family loves all the food preparations and we have enjoyed meals for many parties at our home over the years. Everything from chicken kabobs, humus, spinach and cheese pies, leg of lamb are out of this world! The vegetarian grape leaves are like no other, anywhere. Everyone works hard and Ana, Aram(sorry for misspellings) are accommodating and really know what they are doing. I am so happy so see the new renovations and wish continued success and ever excellent consistently prepared cuisine!

Really very good. Grape leaves and the Labne with walnuts were the stars. They really need home made bread for five stars.

Stopped by with my boy the other night. This place is really good. The food is all new to me. Their salad is out of this world. I had some kind of grilled cheese app that tasted like steak. It was good. Everything here is top notch. Check me out thats the back of my head in the photo.

Stopped in yesterday with a friend of mine who is big on middle eastern food. The place has a real nice atmosphere and is very clean. They did a really nice job on the renovation. Everything I ate was off of recommendations from staff and my friend. Sorry if I screw up some the names but its all foreign to me. I was first bought out a bowl of Hummus and and Pita. I’m usually not into hummus however, this was good. They made it there fresh and it makes a world of difference. I almost ate the whole bowl myself not letting my friend get in there at all. Next came out some little snacky things like olives pickled beats and such downed them in no time. Before I knew it I was shoveling cucumber salad down my gullet as fast as I could followed by some other type of other salad with diced tomatoes and parsley and dressing was good. After that these psychotic feeders bring me more food. I get a whole dinner plate of kebabs and rice laid in front of me. I am not a rice man at all but this stuff was gone in 60 seconds. It didn’t look like they did anything special to the rice it was just cooked perfectly. Kebabs, I wanted to smack the chef for making them. They were outta of this world. I don’t what they marinate them in but the cook needs a smack. I could eat 50 of them. During the meal I ate about a whole loaf of this sweet bread they bake their from scratch. If you get a chance to try this right out of the oven you have to go for it. Screw your carb diets. This bread was soft and delightful. It was so good I almost asked it out on a date. Luckily bread does not have a good personality. After I was begging for mercy from all the food I get fresh made baklava tossed in front of me. I manned up and chowed down. I stayed in the restaurant for 30 min after I ate from suffering from food comma. I really could not even pick up arms to move. On the way out I gave into the dark side and bought 3 loafs of bread to go and some spinach pies that were the size of nerf footballs. I’m sorry to say they didn’t make it through the night.
