We often get takeout here. Great food and great people. We’ve never been disappointed

My favorite & we tried the others! Buffet is the best because you get to try a new dish. But when we order it is the chicken tikka masala, anything on a sizzling plate, beef nihari so good it melts, yellow lentils & naan-lots of naan which is hot fresh and crunchy yum. Have ordered vegetarian dish with cauliflower. Now we order it and just bring home what we can’t eat. Too hot? Just ask for mild-or eat here enough that your tastebuds get used to it! This is my birthday choice & my 13 year old sons for the past 5 years. Host & hostess lovely people. We are not friends but feel like it. jUST well traveled & sophisticated diners. Don’t order takeout-enjoy the experience. Anyone that knows this type of food with layers of flavor is better fresh. Did I mention I went to cooking school with Julie Sahni the Julie child of Indian? Lots of experience with this cooking. eat many times and always same great food!

If any reviewer thinks this place is good then they are friends of the owners. We just spent(or shall we say“misspent”) $ 75 on the worst«Indian» food I have ever attempted to eat. These are Pakistanis who don’t give a damn. I have been to India several times. This food is bad. Their chicken tikka is a salty ruin. It’s gagging food all prepared too hot because they dump spices incoherently and their prices are high for badly prepared misses of Indian food. Their servings are small. They are BIG losers. Do not waste your time. AND I kept trying to give them another chance after missing orders and mistakes but now I know they are the absolute worst so called Indian food on on Long Island. All their food is just HOT spices with no nuance. Stay away.

Just turned 19 last week, been coming here for about 10 years, and I haven’t been dissapointed yet. Polite people and good food at a good price. What more could you ask for?

Exceptional food, especially if you like spicy. We order from this restaurant every time we have out of town guests or those who prefer kosher/halal. Manager is kind and patient even when we have gone in with a young and hyper toddler. The tall pretty lady that works there is the BEST cook. I love the takeout. We originally went there while shopping for a new home. Seriously, we considered this restaurant(and the buffet at the time) a huge plus in moving where we ultimately chose. Yea, not the most mature factor, but we haven’t been wrong yet. I would give an additional star, but sometimes they have collections religiously affiliated and I find that a little alienating. Apart from that minor detail, an absolutely wonderful place.

I love the lunch buffet so I don’t have to choose just one dish. They usually have a Jalfrezi dish that is amazing and old faithful Chicken tikka masala never dissappoints. I’ve eaten there dozens of times and have never had a bad experience.

This was the first time our family came here and we were so surprised. We walked in with a critical eye(as we often do of Indian restaurants). Pros: quality and taste of food, service was good, food came so quickly. The naan was so great! Try a few different ones if you can. Cons: it is a bit pricey compared to other Indian restaurants, and the quantity of food was less than we expected. Overall, we highly recommend it!

So, I’m going to have to Unilocal about my disappointments in a sort of biased way; bias in that I don’t want to dislike anything about the place, but I should come clean. It was a snowy day and therefor had none of the lamb items, but that’s not my beef(pun intended) See, in this particular outing, we ordered: Chicken korma, chicken ginger, and chicken spinach, we got the spring rolls and or favorite naans as well. All totaling 62 bux even after them calling to change two things on my order when they didn’t have the lamb. The dishes were all ordered medium as this night weren’t feeling spicy, and traditionally korma should be milder anyway, almost sweet even. It was all super spicy which I mean, no big deal as we all like heat, but that’s not how we ordered it; With the order they gave me 3 slimy salads… The salads were literally slimy(just disgustingly slimy) Did I mention, That’s disgusting? Why this place bothers with a «salad» is beyond me to begin with, it’s just old lettuce with a slice of tomato, in my opinion they should just give you a veggie spring roll or two with every dish you order. The«salads» go directly in the garbage from this moment on. I’ll be updating my review a final time sooner than later as I’ve kinda been going here a lot, and really enjoy the food, I don’t enjoy the prices however. For a few opinions of the actual food, check out my old review before I updated it. Soon I’ll be reviewing all my faves in yet another update.(I enjoy that their menu review on Unilocal is basically all plfiled in with my pictures)

First time here. Got a safe dish– chicken tikka masala. The meal was a bit pricey, but what a great dish. Five stars alone for the food. I would definitely go back.

So I have actually dined at this place and it was okay but I would place a warning to anyone who is looking for delivery because it’s not going to happen. Unilocal’s Eat24 delivery service not only charges almost $ 10 before your tip, but I was given a confirmation number for my order only to have someone call me 10 minutes later to tell me that they are not delivering.(Even though I was well within the delivery hours.) The guy on the other line asked if I wanted him to look up other indian restaurants in the area but I had already done my research and saw there weren’t any. Total BUST. Unfortunately Curry Kebob House only gets two starts. Their food is good but the customer experience is everything. I’d rather take my chances elsewhere.

RUDESTEXPERIENCEIVEEVERWITNESSED. —-sum up: chef came out yelling because we said the kebob wasn’t cooked properly— Me and my boyfriend would come here occasionally every time we were in the area, which was often. But after the experience we had today we sure won’t be back. We always get the usual butter chicken and beef kebob rolls as we did today and the usual waiter brought it out. My boyfriend noticed that the kebob rolls were extremely soft and felt like they were not cooked enough because all u can taste was the masala. He ate a whole kebob because I told him the idea was just in his head until I had a piece of it and almost spit it out cause of how soft and weird it tastes. We called the waiter over and told him that the Kebob was too soft and tasted really weird and he gave us a odd look and stood there in awkward silence saying what do we want and it’s fine over and over again. Eventually he took it to the kitchen and one minute later the chef came out with the plate in his hand and raised his voice at us saying«u just want your money back.» He accused us for lying so we can get our money back and raised his voice in front of everyone there which was uncalled for. We simply wanted him to cook it properly but the man came out YELLING at us over a kebob roll. The chef took the plate that was still in his hand and just walked away mumbling under his breath. They did not offer us another kebob or offer us any alternative. After he left, the three men sitting there behind the counter kept staring at us and gossiping. We should’ve just picked out stuff up and left the place without paying because we barely got to eat and they made it super uncomfortable. but we still paid the bill and def will not return. 10 – 15 $ is not that serious, but customer service and respect is for us. We will not return to this restaurant and hopefully that chef gets a wake up call. RUDEASITCANGET.

I called without a menu and asked for palak paneer. Im not sure what it was, but taste good it did not. It was a red sauce The chicken samosas were mediocre. I wish i had eaten in, i would have walked out without paying after 1 bite.

This is probably my favorite Indian restaurant on long island. Great food, great service and the place always looks very clean. They have always been good to my family and they treat my daughter like royalty. You can tell the owners care about their customers.

I’ve been going to this restaurant for many years and the food is delicious every time. I’ve taken co-workers to their lunch buffets, and they become addicted to the good food. The staff is so nice and they are always attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant. From Genille & Samir

Excellent delivery experience from this restaurant. Food came way ahead of schedule and was still hot and fresh. The delivery man came right to my hotel door! Everything was delicious and well seasoned. The garlic naan was especially flavorful. My curry dish was spiced as ordered(you can select mild, medium, hot) The portions are very generous. Only«gripe» is the order minimum is 30.00 and when you are one person that’s a lot of food(restaurant is very reasonably priced). Needless to say, I have leftovers. I would not hesitate to recommend this place or patronize it again.

My wife and I have eaten here numerous times. Fair prices and very good curries. No complaints, the buffet has been an absolute pleasure to sample from. One of the best Indian places around. We have also eaten at the curry club, excellent food but with prices we can pass on. Curry kebab house is the right mix of great tasting food and good prices for Indian cuisine. The owner is extremely nice every time we go in.

If you can handle the heat, come for the lunch or dinner buffet at this very good Indian/Pakistani restaurant. They also have an extensive menu if you don’t want the buffet. The food is all very good. Stand outs are the kebobs and chicken tikka masala which aren’t dumbed down and pack a nice kick. They often have a chili chicken dish that’s tasty but not recommended for those with a less than iron stomach. Tandoori chicken is also very good. Dining room is rather blah and charmless but the staff is very friendly and prices are reasonable. This is a great place to try. There is no dinner buffet Friday nights so it’s a bit quieter.

This place is amazing. The food is unbelievable. I have taken their food to go, catered for events, also every time someone stays at my house they all ask to go to Curry Kebob House for dinner. If you like spicy Pakistani food. This is definitely the place to go. Service is great and place is clean. It’s not like the run down places in Hicksville or Jackson Heights.

Despite the reviews stating poor service, I neither experienced, nor witnessed this last night. The Head chef was making his rounds, and recognized many regulars who reciprocated his niceties, the same can be said for a woman, whom I assume to be his wife. Whether they are the owners who are purported to be rude, I cannot say; but I will say my experience was rather pleasant. My friends and I opted for the buffet, so as to be able to acquaint ourselves with more of these delicacies of the Orient, of which I am only tertiary familiarity terms. We began with the«Lentil Soup», which was anything but traditional lentil soup — the spices and flavour were abundant! It was a light, brothy soup, not creamy. During the soup, a plate of Steaming Hot and Buttery Naan Bread arrived — PERFECTLY cooked! Crunchy, Chewy, Buttery, et al. The main course consisted of: Tikka Masala Chicken(creamy tangy, spicy, sweet), Chicken Jalfrazy(boneless chicken with vegetables, spices and herbs), Aloo Palak Panheer, Rice, Lamb Achari, various Vegetables. For dessert, I opted for 1 Gulab Jamun, which is a round and exceptionally dense cake-like(Milk Solids) honey pastry. Throughout the evening, a single TV was on at a semi-loud volume near the register playing what I deem Modern Indian music — -I imagine that is better suited to a bar or a club, it seemed slightly out of place, and very Western. I would prefer to hear something more Folk oriented than infused with Western ideals. Yet, I walked out knowing that I would be back.

The only reason I’m leaving this place one star is because of their food other then that I would note leave any star if I could. This place is horrible! I called in ahead of time to reserve seats and table for my family. It was 16 of us. Once I got there I had to take some spoons and forks from other table since they didn’t put enough. After that we places order for Tikkah masala, chaana masala, another chicken, and 3 grills that came with chicken Tikkah and kebabs along with that we got naans. When the food arrived I realized their serving was very very small! One plate would serve only a person or two. Not once did the person who took the order mentioned this to me that the food would not be enough! They act like it’s a 5 star place but it really isn’t it’s more like 3 stars. Their food is about 3 ½ stars and their service 2 star. While we were eating with anger, not once did any of the server come up to ask if everything is okay or if we needed anything else. The owner was full of shit! He was wearing a t-shirt and was allowing people to bring alcohol in a Halal restaurant that was gross! Another thing I wanted to mention is their prices are over priced! Twice as much for a plate then other restaurants! I’ve ate from top restaurants and not even their food was expensive. $ 17 for a Tikkah masala salan! Which is only good for a person or two that’s insane! We asked for the bill and was disappointment because the bill was a lot more then the food we had. We were still all hanger and the bill came as if we ate much. We ordered so much but their stingy with food! So the bill came. I was planning to leave them NOTIP because of their shitty serving! But they added 25% tip automatically to the bill with out informing us. Later the owner tells me theirs a sign. Well hello asshole tell that before the person gives order. And mention to them that you are very stingy with your food! I would never ever ever ever good here ever again. The place looks weird from inside and outside. I went thinking it would be cheaper and nice. But turned out to be the opposite. I would not recommend anyone here! Mostly for the desi family. I doubt they go I didn’t see not even one family who was desi. So I can figure why. The owner was kissing ass to the other white folks sitting there with their beers! Anyways I’m so mad about all this! It was the worse experience I ever had! Poor & shitty place
