Horrible!!! Worse dining experience ever! Seemed like they were getting ready to close down… and only took cash. All the food was below acceptable, coconut shrimp seemed like it was cooked in old oil! Beef was tough, and the list goes on!

Eat here religiously each time I’m in town… the only QUIET place to dine and converse. Good wine list, excellent ambience and food is very good!

Made reservations through open table at 6pm today based on the glowing Unilocal reviews. This place is no longer in business. Chairs are stacked out front and the sign is taken down. Would have been really helpful to know this beforehand! My husband and I went to Artisan across the street. Luckily we were seated without prior reservations! It was very good…

This place is overrated! The staff was very attentive and friendly, but I wasn’t too impressed with food. I love lamb so usually if I go to spot and they serve lamb, sure enough that will be what I order. Sadly I was disappointed. It was pretty bland. Their bread for the table however was delicious. I couldn’t get enough of it. The corkage fee was also pretty reasonable $ 10. Doubt I’ll be coming back though

The first thing I have to say about Robert’s is that it is not what is was before; I read from other reviews that the restaurant is under new ownership and from our server I found that the restaurant has a new chef. Robert’s was always our«go to» place for dinner in Paso because the food, preparation and presentation were constantly superior. My wife and I started tonight with fried artichoke hearts which were excellent. I ordered the farfale with chicken which was good but not inspiring. My wife ordered the pork chop, which has been a signature dish at Robert’s; it did not leave up to expectations by a long shot. The piece of pork she was served was bony with a substantial amount of fat and gristle. After soldiering on for a while, she mentioned the problem to the server who made an appropriate adjustment to the bill. Our server told us a new menu was coming next week. Do give Robert’s a try; the restaurant itself is inviting and the staff attentive but remember it may still be a work in progress.

We had a delightful, relaxed lunch at Robert’s. The service was very good and cheerful. The mahi mahi fish & chips were as good as fish & chips could be, not too greasy and very flavorful. The grilled caprese sandwich and tomato soup were both very tasty. An elegant fine dining atmosphere with lovely bathrooms! Would go back next time we’re in the area.

We were asking for great dinner suggestions in SLO, and were specifically told that this place was amazing! Since we were heading to Paso Robles for some wine tasting, and didn’t want to go on an empty stomach, Robert’s Restaurant and Wine Bar was perfect. We called ahead since we were starving at 2pm, and they told us to come on in even though they were pretty much emptied out. Loved the setting — lots of light! There were so many wine and dinner options. They offered to let us sample the wines before we chose them, but we overzealously committed without trying. I tried a nice rose, which was decent, but not as good as some of the wines we had just tried at a nearby winery. I’d recommend taking the waiter up on sampling your wine before choosing! As for food, we knew we definitely wanted a heavier sandwich, so we decided to also share a salad so that it wasn’t too heavy. The arugula green apple and kale salad was amazing! It came with kale, slices of apple and shaved manchego, candied walnuts, crispy shallots and chia-lemon vinaigrette. I’d never thought that chia seeds had a place in salad, but it was a really interesting addition! The dressing wasn’t too heavy, so the flavors of the ingredients really took a life of their own. If you’re a texture person — you’ll love this salad. It had a little bit of everything, from crunchy walnuts, to crispy apple, to gooey chia seeds… sounds weird, but it was a really fun salad to eat! The sandwich was really delicious too — but to be honest, it wasn’t as memorable as the salad since all I can remember about it was that it was very cheesy :) Great service — the waiter answered our questions, but left us alone. In summary: I’d come back to try other menu items for dinner. Great service, relaxing ambiance with lots of light, and top quality food. Perfect for a date, business meeting or meeting with friends.

Such a great downtown Paso restaurant! Feels dressy but without any pretension. Delicious«Stroganoff» Short Ribs and good tomato soup! A nice local Paso wine selection to get you ready for a day of tastings!

They were so amazing, we celebrated a birthday and I got engaged on the same bight and the staff could not have been more helpful, discreet and accommodating. Thank you to the chef/owner, the sous chef and John our server for making everything happen so perfectly! And to the boring stuff, the mahi mahi was great, the stroganoff ribs, and the new York steak were all wonderfully cooked. The chefs desserts were perfect!

I’m a chef and I like good food. Yesterday my buddy and I were hungry, and it sounded to me that some well made burgers were in order! Stumbled upon this place on google, really liked the menu as well as the prices! We went, we ate, and MYGOD we left smiling!!! Lisa is a new owner of this establishment, she sat with us since we were there during off hours and just explained what they do. All their burgers are fresh meat ground in house with filet mignon and ribeye to give it that good juicy flavor! They even let me see the kitchen. The owners are just awesome people, want to give you the best food for a decent price. Yeah, maybe some people think like $ 27 for a double cut pork chop isn’t cheap, but then again, you get what you pay for. These people CANCOOK, and their ingredients are exceptional. Thanks Anthony and Lisa, I’ll see you again soon!

I took my parents to Roberts for dinner tonight. Yeah, we locals have all heard the gossip about this place but hey, it’s always been pretty good, right? Well… not any more! Now? Now it is completely PHENOMENAL! The new owner/chef Lisa could not be more invested in the fabulousness of this place; turning out plates that are not only gorgeous but 200% delicious!!! The waiter(Francesco) was attentive, accommodating and gracious, too. Top-shelf local wines(we had Adelaida’s Zin – omg!). Seriously people… whether visiting our beautiful region or local since birth… TRYIT! Amaze… just sayin!

Had an amazing Chateaubriand tonight on the Valentines Night special menu. The meat could be cut with a fork. Very tender and tasty. Tanner was our server and very attentive. Ran into a friend eating there who said the duck was over the top good. A great place for that special night out.

Delicious!!! Earlier this week I was at Chilis by Hampton Inn in Paso Robles. Sitting at the bar I met a very interesting man by the name of Richard. We talked and he told me about the restaurant where he worked… Of course I had to try it and I wasn’t disappointed at all. This place is phenomenal… I am having the duck with a side of lasagna… Very accommodating and delish… When I come back this place is a must for repeat… Yummy!!!

Snooty and expensive. Don’t waste your time. The lobster salad appetizer was microscopic.

This restaurant was closed for awhile but is back open. I came here on a not so busy Friday evening around 8PM. Our service was average at best; our waiter wasn’t super attentive, and didn’t know what came with, how much the specials were, or how to pronounce one of them… Our food was okay. I ordered the filet which was good, but I have had better. I substituted the brussel sprouts for broccolini. I asked specifically if it was broccolini and not broccoli and our waiter stated it was broccolini; I received broccoli. The broccoli was nothing special. My friend ordered the Salmon dish. She though the quinoa had too much lemon and felt it overwhelmed the rest of her dish, but I on the other hand, liked the quinoa and the lemon flavor. I will say, in my opinion, the ambiance in this restaurant is lovely and the wait staff as a whole is friendly. My friend and I did stay rather late to catch up/talk and never felt rushed.

We are locals and we have not been to Robert’s in several years. We have tried it various times since they originally opened and each time we have gone there has been a problem with service. Unfortunately the problems still exist. There were 4 of us dining on Saturday 1÷9÷16. We were brought bread and with a bruschetta type of spread that was very good. We all had small plates we were using for our bread and within a few minutes of eating the bread the busser came and cleared our plates without asking if we were done. We had ordered a cheese plate that had not arrived yet and we were all enjoying the bread until it came. We let our server Andrew know and he apologized. We ordered wine(many of their wines were unavailable and the also did not serve us the year we ordered for one bottle, the list said 2011 and we were server a 2013 as that was all they had). Our cheese plate arrived and it was enjoyable but again the busser tried to take the plate before we were done and there was still quite a bit of cheese left on the plate. When our entrees came the server who brought the food was confused and set down the wrong entrees in front of us and we had to tell them who had ordered which dish. I had the Colorado Ribeye and it was good but the broccoli on the plate was very salty. I had others at the table taste it as well and they agreed. The mac & cheese that came with it was good but not great. One of our friends had the rack of lamb and they raved about it. My husband ordered fish and he enjoyed his meal. We then shared two desserts — chocolate soufflé cake and a green apple cobbler type of dessert and they were both very good. Our bill was $ 275.00 and I felt it was far too expensive for the just ok quality and the not great service. I think this will be our last visit to Robert’s as there are other restaurants in town we would prefer to eat at with much better food and service.

We came to Robert’s for a friend’s birthday dinner. Our party of eight had the first dinner reservation, and we were seated next to the kitchen. The menu was marked with dots for all the wine of which they ran out, and they only had two types of beer on hand. The restaurant month prix fixe dinner sounded great, so my wife and I ordered it. The starter salad was intended to be an arugula salad, but they ran out of arugula, so it was a beet salad instead which turned out to be the highlight of the meal. The roasted beet salad had frisee and golden beets set atop thinly sliced red beets. A deep fried chèvre sphere rested in the middle of salad providing a unique take on the classic beet salad with goat cheese. The main course was cioppino served with dry rye bread and house rice-a-roni. The dish did not come together as a whole. Each element stood it’s ground on my palate in defiance of its pairing. The rye bread was awkward next to the cioppino. The cioppino contained a few mussels, a few clams, and a dry piece of white fish. The saffron tomato sauce tasted canned. The rice-a-roni was a strange addition. The rice seemed like it was intended to be al dente, but it was just underdone. The flavor was very buttery and over-spiced and did not complement the cioppino. Dessert was a lemon extravaganza with lemon cream on top. The lemon flavor was relentless. In addition to the food, the service was awkward as well. I do not plan to return.

We had lunch here today and I’m sorry that this disappointing meal was our last meal for 2015. Where to begin? Upon arrival, the hostess was on the phone and never even looked up to give an acknowledgment gesture. A server came and seated us after I told her we had reservations. We reviewed the menu and meager wine list(can’t believe it has Wine Bar in it’s name) and made a selection for a 2013 Hearst Ranch Chardonnay. Our server arrived with a bottle and proceeded to open it without showing us the label first. When I noticed the bottle was a 2014 I commented that 2013 was on the menu. Her response was that was what they had now. She proceeded to pour and when I say pour I mean she didn’t allow one of us taste before pouring and then poured the glasses two thirds full. More training is required here. The food was fine — Mahi Mahi Tacos for him, Coho Salmon Salad for me. The young man who brought us our food asked who had the tacos, set them down and then set the salad down for me and just walked off. A little more people skills would be welcome. While the ambience is pleasant, I could not get past the horrible background music. It’s so thin and tinny that I actually thought it was a radio they had on in the kitchen that they had neglected to turn off when they opened for lunch. Pair this with old Kenny Loggins, the Mamas & Papas and a bunch of other old 70’s music and it interfered with what was already an annoying experience. They also need to pull the drapes in the afternoon because of the blinding reflections from the cars outside. It was funny that everyone in the dining room was commenting on it. Apparently, the majority of reviews that I read whIch prompted our choice to try Robert’s were for dinner. Never the less, we will not return.

The atmosphere was very nice and the service was good. I had the mushroom lasagna, it was good but if I come back I will not order it again. My brother on the other hand had the rack of lamb and he said it was amazing. I will come back here next time I am in town.

Our first dining experience at Robert’s tonight and we couldn’t be happier. We’re here in Paso for one night on our way to Sonoma and wanted to try Second Press but once again they’re not open so, Robert’s it was. We ordered a bottle of Syrah but they were sold out of many wines from Christmas but our waiter brought us glasses of red complimentary which was very much appreciated. The fresh bread and tapenade brought to the table was so yummy! We started with the spring rolls, they were delicious! Then the wedge salad also very good and finally the bow-tie pasta with bacon and English peas in a cream sauce. The house water is straight from the tap so I recommend the Aqua Panna most definitely. We will be back.

Roberts is a restaurant not to be missed in Paso Robles! Linen tablecloths /napkins, attentive waitstaff and a varied menu to please most every palate. All this AND quite reasonable prices, including the wines. We so enjoyed out lunch this past Wednesday that we changed our plans today to pass through Paso Robles to again have a great lunch at Roberts. Finally, ask for Andrew if he is on duty.

We ate at Robert’s on a Tuesday lunch before we left town for Monterey. We had wanted to go for dinner, but after a long day of wine tasting in the Paso heat, we opted for lighter, easier dinners. So, lunch was great way to visit & taste. BTG wine list is really good, but beware — the first glass ordered by my hubs was way past overdue(it had been opened 5 days). It was replaced, of course, but never should have been served. I had a lovely chardonnay(which I should have taken a picture of since I can’t remember it now). Hubs had the Cattleman’s Burger and it was huge and delicious. We could have split it, but he took half of it to go for a snack in the car. I had the Grilled Cheese sandwich. Oh my. Such cheesy deliciousness. But again, it was huge and very rich, and we took half of it with us. The décor is quite interesting. White tablecloth formal with hobnail upholstered dining chairs, yet relaxed. I love going to places like that for lunch. Spending $ 20 for lunch(per person) & having that level of service and atmosphere. There are some really interesting B&W photographs all over the place. There are a few tables outside, but when we got back in the car after lunch, the temp was 110′. We’ll go back in November when it cools off.

«Comfort and Class» Our first dinner for our wine weekend was a classy affair, in an elegant, reserved setting with the most comfortable dining chairs we’ve encountered in a long time. We were full from wine and more wine from the 3 previous venues(Tooth and Nail, Opolo, and La Cosecha — all recommended) but we saved room for a proper sit-down dinner at Robert’s. Glad we did. The wife and I started with the Bacon Wrapped Scallops($ 16). Delicious tangy citrus and with a spicy kick — with 3 per order. The missus had the Beef Fillet with Brussel Sprouts and Garlic Mash($ 31) and she enjoyed it, the portion generous and satisfying. I opted for the Grilled Aged Ribeye($ 31) and the crispy mac and cheese side was just as good and flavorful as the entrée. I had a glass of Lone Madrone GSM($ 11) that complemented the marbled ribeye. We were too full for dessert and even brought back leftovers. Service was great and the diners in the room seemed to be all happy to find an escape from the day with solid food and vino at very reasonable prices.

Wow… glad we listened to a local’s advice on this one… ONE of the best meals we had on this trip to Cali. Tanner was our waiter and he and his assistants had it covered. His recommendation for a local wine to pair with dinner was spot on… a Niner sangiovese. I had the Salmon dinner and my wife the Pork chop… however the highlight of the evening was a small plate… Pork Belly… to die for. The beet salad was also especially good. The signature Carrot Cake was a to-go order as portions were very very generous and we left with 2 doggy bags. SaleebScore: Price: moderate-high; Value: 8⁄10; Service:10/10; Food quality: 9.5÷10; Food quantity: 10⁄10. a five-star experience, no lie.

3.5 stars. Meaty!!! That about sums up my experience here. As part of a bachelorette party, we booked a table at this place to celebrate our friend’s last days… er… months of being single.(She plans ahead ;) We got a long table, but the atmosphere was intimate and the setting very comfortable. We all got an appetizer and a main dish, and it proved to be too much food after a whole day of eating and drinking. I started with the French onion soup, which, while very very rich and dark, was a bit too salty for me. Then I had the beef filet — it was beautifully presented on a bed of mashed potatoes and next to some brussels sprouts. The meat was tender and delicious, but I didn’t really care for the brussels sprouts, as, again, they were a bit over-salted. I would come here again just for the atmosphere, as it has such cute décor. I’m still not sure about the food because of over-salting, but most of it was rather delicious minus that extra salt, so maybe it will be better next time.

So this one gets FIVE stars for every aspect of the experience. First of all the service is the best. Very friendly and attentive. Makes you feel as if YOU are their first priority. We have been here for two anniversaries in a row plus other occassions. But we were just here on Thursday for our 21st, and hands down they have nailed the five star thing. The food is perfection. I need my salt. And you just don’t here. Ever. The flavor is perfect and brought out hot! The experience is upscale but no pressure. And the price, though up there, is worth every penny. I mean, if I am going to pay for it… I want all five stars covered… Friendly and attentive service Comfortable and trendy atmosphere Great food! Hot and fresh Reasonable value for the price And consistently good every visit. My two favorites are the Pork Chops and the Rib Eye. The wedge Salad is excellent as well! They even offered us a free dessert for our anniversary and we were so full we declined. But they insisted that we choose one and boxed it up and sent it home with us! Now that is 5STAR service! AND it was delicious!(We chose the Carrot Cake.) All FIVESTARS are checked here! I don’t feel the least bit hesitant directing anyone here. I know that they will deliver!
