I did not try the wines so my review is for customer service alone. I would have tried all the wines and paid the $ 10 fee but I was so turned off by the help(lack of) that I walked out. The person barely said a word to me when I walked in and when I inquired about the wines I got a very unenthusiastic response and little explanation. Too bad as I had planned to buy a bottle or two but decided against it.

$ 10 for a tasting of 5 wines(1 white, 4 red) really can’t be beat. While I wasn’t in love with any of the wines I tried, they have a lovely environment — plenty of tables and seats for everyone. The wine I liked the most of the 5 was the Syrah. Didn’t like any of the blended wines. But wine tasting isn’t entirely about liking the wine — had a great time with friends here and at such a great price, would recommend to anyone as a warm, non-skiing activity :)

First time wine tasting and we had a blast. Family atmosphere, and comfortable setting. We learned everything from how they make the wine, to what was in it. Perfect spot to go wine tasting before grabbing a bite to eat :)

So nice and friendly to speak with the proprietor. They didn’t offer any crackers which would have been nice to cleanse the palette but we got pleasantly intoxicated and learned a lot about the wines and the local area too. Great experience for us!

Excellent wine with very nice owners who give personal attention to their customers. Out of the 6 wines, five are very good to excellent. Great place to stop and have a great red in Heavenly Village

My recent visit to Tahoe found me bored and in the rain, so wine tasting time. I found the tasting room to be a large and nicely decorated area. I had a good chat with Brian about the wine, and Big Sur, since he use to live there. As for the wine, I tasted 5 red varietals for $ 10., the pours were a bit small, but the wine was both complex and balanced. I found the Zinfandel to be my favorite, but thought the pricing was on the expensive side. This is a small boutique winery out of Paso Robles, so you will only be able to purchase their label here. I would recommend this store for both a tasting and wines by the glass before a movie or dinner.

Found this tasting room while roaming the area with friends prior to the AMBBR around Lake Tahoe. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere — lovely wine.

Stopped by here before the Kool and the Gang concert and really wanted to enjoy our experience. But, we found the experience underwhelming. My husband and I bought a flight each(white for me and red for him). With the exceptions of the Red Fusion and the Albariño(which we bought a bottle each of), we were not impressed, especially for the prices they are charging. I also felt like the owner was trying to influence my impressions of the wine by telling me how I should feel about them, rather than sharing a few tasting notes and letting me make my own decisions. We were also a bit surprised that the tasting fees were not waived with our purchase. If you’re traveling through Placerville on your way to/from South Lake, you might try some of the wineries in that area. We’ve had very good experiences, especially at Lava Cap Winery

We found this place on Unilocal and decided to stop in for a tasting. The price for a tasting was only $ 10, which was awesome, and the wine was AMAZING! If you’re looking for a nice place to taste then check this place out. The service was awesome and we left with 2 bottles. Super glad we stumbled upon this place!

I love wine and this place did not disappoint. I got white wine flight and the owners were extremely nice and took their time to explain each wine with fun expressions like«romance in a bottle.» If you are looking for a place to kill some time while waiting for your reservation or you just love wine this is the place to go and it’s only about 20 bucks for a flight.

I have been a fan of Red Poets and Skyhawk Lane since I visited their tasting room in Cambria, California before they relocated. I loved what I tasted then and I was even more impressed with what I tasted at the new, South Lake Tahoe location. Incredible wines served by the makers — a very knowledgable and friendly couple. This tasting room has a charming atmosphere, artwork that ranges from beautiful to whimsical, and they also sell various food that serves well with wine. I tried a flight of very flavorful and unique reds, learning about each one as I tasted. I was surprised by the range of flavors in each pour and how different they all were. I heard they are working on some new blends(including whites) which sound delicious, too. I’ll be back for those! I also sampled some of their flavored olive oils and balsamic vinegars which was a lot of fun. They have tons of tasty flavors but I absolutely HAD to take home their basil olive oil and traditional balsamic vinegar. Both are aged to perfection and the balsamic is wonderfully thick. If you’re around Heavenly Village, this is a must to check out!

There’s not much to this place. They have a wine tasting bar and products that you can take home with you. My hubby tried 5 different red wines for $ 10 and very much liked what he tasted. The guy at the counter was very informative about the wines and was thorough in his explanation of the differences and tastes of the wines. Overall this was an interesting experience that we would like to do again. Hopefully next time around we’ll be able to take some wines home with us. I’d highly recommend this winery to anyone who’s a wine fanatic. Thanks for the tasting RP&SL!!!

Found this local gallery and wine tasting bar while strolling through the village. The owner is so personable and was so eager and willing to share all the knowledge of his wine that he represents from Paso Robles in Southern California. I hope everyone will support this establishment. I also loved his olive oil selections!

Delicious wines and you get to make the wine maker! We popped in real quick to taste and were surprised how friendly the owner was and how great the wine tasted. Yes the prices are a little steep, but it’s a small business and he has to make revenue some how. Go try!

Willing to admit this may be a bad snapshot, but our experiences are what they are so here you go: Came in on a quiet afternoon while strolling through the neighborhood. Not a soul was in there except for one person who was later to be identified as an owner. Waited at the counter for 5 minutes while the owner treated us to her phone conversation about a variety of topics without a semblance of acknowledgement. Around the time we were prepared to leave, the call ended and we got started on our tasting. Wines were worth a taste but not sure if they were worth the bottle. It is our usual custom to buy a bottle if a tasting fee is waived, but this was not a practice at this establishment. Again, likely a case of bad timing but we were left with an impression that was worth sharing.

My fiancé and I stumbled upon this place while on vacation in Tahoe. We love wine tasting so as soon as we saw the sign we headed straight for it! It is a $ 10 tasting per person to taste 5 wines. A little pricey compared to what I am used to, but every wine we tasted was delicious so it was worth it. The owner was was extremely helpful and so friendly. We had the best time talking to him and the other people who were wine tasting. The atmosphere is very casual and very comfortable. You can also buy wines by the glass, so after our tasting, we each picked our favorite wine and sat down at one of the tables to enjoy. They sell cheeses, crackers and all kinds of tasty goodies, so if you wanted to buy a bottle and have a snack after your tasting, you can totally do that! The rest of the weekend the fiancé kept saying that he wanted to go back for another glass of wine — he enjoyed it that much! We will definitely be back next time we are in town! Love this place.

Went in here this past weekend and had a wine tasting with my girlfriend and our friend. We had a lot of fun. The wine is amazing. Lots of flavor and the owner puts them in order so you can really taste the difference of each one. The owner was a really nice guy that we enjoyed talking to. If you are up in Tahoe and looking for a wine then you have to go here. You will really enjoy it. Can’t wait to open our two bottles we bought.
