This was the only place where I actually threw out my wine. This place is. beautiful but sterile and lacking any paso charm(go to the wineries west of the 101). Of the 6 I tried, 4 were bad, especially the white wine. Dear lord it was terrible, and I’ve never had that happen in paso. Do yourself a favor and just keep on driving.

Beautiful winery with amazing wines. Loved the views so peaceful and the staff is friendly and inviting. Can’t want to visit again for my 1 year wedding anniversary in June 2016

This was our first visit to Pear Valley and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Wonderful tasting room. Our hostess/server was great — very pleasant and informative. Terrific wines for a very reasonable price. We left with 6 bottles and look forward to returning when we are in Paso Robles again.

Every time I’m in Paso I stop by here. Great wine to be had and a lot of the time they have h’orderves on hand. They also have a selection of meats/cheese’s you can purchase. Staff is super nice and I had the pleasure of meeting the owner while being given a tour of their new sorting set-up, underneath all the solar panels. James(JJ) and Alaks are on the production side of pear valley and only speak to the quality of the brand. Will continue to visit, not only for the great views and wine, but the staff too!

We love Pear Valley! We are members and are also getting married here. The distraction is one of our favorite reds. We are excited for all the 2013 reds released. Can’t wait for our wedding!

This review is on Pear Valley’s wines. I’ve never been to their actual location, but I’ve been a wine club member for years and this is the BEST value plus best quality wine you’ll find. I host several wine parties each year, and Pear Valley always has the best reception from my peers. Hats off to the wine maker.

Good value wines. They make a lot of varietals that are good but not great but for the price they are hard to beat.

We almost didn’t go to this winery because of some the bad customer service reviews… We are all about having a great time with the staff wherever we go. We get totally bummed if the customer service isn’t awesome. I would rather have food or drinks that were average with good customer service but that is just my style:) we were pleasantly surprised at our experience at Pear Valley! Although we didn’t join the wine club we walked away with 3 bottles of wine and a port. It was a wonderful experience.

We had been to Paso many times before and always enjoyed the wine tasting experience. A nice lady at Bianchi Winery had recommended Pear Valley… we parked and enjoyed a nice game of corn hole out front. As soon as we walked through the door we were blatantly ignored. We spent a good ten minutes sipping water and trying to get the attention of anyone behind the counter. We didn’t even get a nod of acknowledgement and then left. Another couple was walking out at the same time and offered their condolences and said that they felt awful that we had been ignored in such an aggressive way. Luckily every other winery around was nice and said that Pear Valley had a reputation for rudeness. I can’t speak to their wine as I wasn’t even given the chance to try it. If you’re looking for a relaxing afternoon please pick somewhere else. I’ve never been treated like that and wouldn’t want anyone else to feel the same disrespect.

Gorgeous views with delicious wine. The women are always friendly. This is a great place for a group or just a few. Great picnic spot. Also great for events. Snacks(meatballs, cheese & crackers) are available on the weekend. We served some of this wine at my best friends wedding. I recommend this place.

I did a tasting at my hotel and found these wines to be rather bland. They’re highly acidic and lack depth. The neutral cheeses I ate with them were more flavorful. I realize they’re trying to appeal to the environmentalists with solar this and that thingies. But in the process they’re compromising the quality of their product. The acidity overpowers the flavor of the grapes in all their blend. Inspiration and Distraction were offensive to my salivary glands. Overall these wines are generic and uninspired. If you’re uninitiated go for it. But if you know good wine, don’t go here. FYI they didn’t take a single medal at the Paso Robles annual wine competition. Not even an honorable mention. Seriously. You get what you pay for. Pear Valley is for virgins. ZERO stars.

Stopped at this winery by chance and was very happy I did. Grounds are beautiful and Ellen the owners sister is a gem, she was so informative and volunteering with all aspects. No pushy wine sales here. A must visit in my book.

I loved Pear Valley. We were members there for a long time and bought several cases of their wine… It was a good daily table wine that was reasonably priced. However, in 2014 we were traveling a great deal and remodeled our house, so we let a number of our memberships lapse. So the other day my wife and I were reminded of Pear Valley and I gave them a call to order a couple cases of wine. I spoke to the owner Kathleen, who at first was very nice. But then she told me that I was not a member and then her attitude towards me changed dramatically. I noted that I had great deal happen in 2014 but we were back and would like to get started again with their wines. I told her I would have be more than happy to rejoin. But her attitude towards me became very punitive and almost insulting. She said the only way she would renew my membership was for me to come there and sign up for the next shipment in August. She said there was no way she would renew my membership now or sell me any wines at membership rates. Because they were reserved for her good standing members. This was shocking to me. I had been a very good patron of Pear Valley for years. The fact is there are hundreds of wineries in Paso that work to build the relationships with their customers. After my conversation with Kathleen I do not feel the need to renew a relationship with a business that treat customers in such a fashion. I will share our allegiance with a winery that appreciates their customers. Good Bye Pear Valley.

We came to Pear Valley to attend a wedding yesterday. Two stars for the beautiful ceremony site that sits atop a hill and gorgeous grounds. Minus one star for only having 4 bathrooms total(2 for women and 2 for men) for a party of over 100 guests. The women’s bathroom located right off of the main reception area was disgusting. It had toilet paper on the ground and a small waste basket that was overflowing with paper towels. I’m subtracting another 2 stars for the rude wait staff that tended to the outdoor reception tables – it started to sprinkle heavily and their response to repeated requests from the guests to draw the overhead awning was«oh it’ll stop raining, it’s not that bad.»

Love their wine but the owner needs to go to charm school. Not the friendless person to be hosting her own winery. There are too many other good wineries out there.

My husband and I visited Pear Valley Vineyards for the first time in February. We had always heard good things about this Winery and were given recommendations to visit there from other Winery’s hosts. We just never seemed to make it there until our last trip to the Paso Robles area. I am sorry we waited so long. First of all, this place is gorgeous, both inside and out. There are so many places to sit outside and enjoy the lovely atmosphere and views. We took advantage of that once we made our wine purchases. Inside, the tasting room is very elegant, yet the feel from the staff there is super welcoming and friendly. I love places like that where you feel right at home once you step through the door. Our very sweet and personable young woman named Natalie was our wine host on that day, and she could not have been more delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed the time we had chatting with her and learning about Pear Valley. wines. The wines we tasted were delicious and very reasonably priced. They do have a $ 5 tasting fee which is waived with wine purchase, so very worth it because you are more than likely going to buy some of their delicious wines anyway. The Albarino was a good choice and a very unique white wine to sip on while sitting on the outside patio since it was a warm day. We bought several other varietals as well, but not before we joined their Wine Club; not something we planned to do since we already belonged to several Clubs, but we couldn’t resist their great tasting wines, wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff and the Wine Club prices are phenomenal. I only wished we lived closer so we could visit the Winery more often, but we look forward to our Wine Club shipments!

My husband and I enjoyed our tasting here at Pear Valley. The views are beautiful from outside the winery; sitting area that looks over the valley. A nice picture spot. The wines were average. The tasting room was beautiful it reminded us of an old home in Tuscany.

Exceeded expectations are the best words to begin this review. The east side of Paso Robles is a place that at times does not receive the credit due or publicity that the west side has basked in for many years. Despite what some public opinion states there are a growing number of incredible attractively priced wines and well run establishments creating unique experiences all over the east and my recent trip to Pear Valley Winery was something that far and beyond exceeded my expectations. Serving both Rhone and Boudreaux varietals, various blends, and well balanced wines all around they have something for the varying discerning tastes. Throw in some complimentary warm meatballs, a nice cheese spread, various cracker selections, and a friendly staff how could you not enjoy yourself. Pear Valley is well worth the time, money, and exploration to step out of your box and enjoy something new. Did I mention the beautifully designed tasting room adorned with rich natural stone, exposed beams, cathedral ceilings, and that old world feel that almost took me back to Tuscany. You won’t regret it, I sure didn’t :)

Great wines great prices. Its worth signing up for the wine club if you enjoy a Distraction. This is their best blend in my book. They do offer specials many times in the year. Often you get one of the owners, but most of the staff are equally attentive. Get a glass and sit outside and soak in Some of the Best of East Paso.

Really friendly staff, one of our last stops of the day. Our large group enjoyed a nice tasting in the patio area. There’s a nice little hill you can trek up(we had a trolley hahaha) with a really awesome view… worth the effort!

This place wasn’t originally part of one of our stops on the list but we came here with a wine tour. It was a weekend, it was just too busy in there, they really need some extra help to serve people better. The three people I saw were running like chickens with their heads cut off, they just couldn’t keep up. We really wanted to buy a bottle or 2 of the orange muscat they had but they just couldn’t help us in good time. They probably lost a few customers this way, but if it’s always busy maybe it doesn’t matter to them anyway.

This winery was so welcoming! The view is nice here but I think other wineries offer better view if you want to take pictures and stuff. But the tasting room was beautiful. It had nice welcoming feel to it because it was spacious and the decorations are so cute. I LOVED how friendly the people are here. The lady that helped my group with our wine tasting was awesome. She was the best: D She gave insightful information and joked around with us, I thought she was the sweetest. The wine they had was great too! I’m not much of a wine person but I did enjoy their white wine, enough that I bought one :) I really like their dessert wine too, it was sweet enough to be dessert for me. My friends liked their red wine selection too, I think everything they offered up was good. There is a 5 dollar tasting fee but it is waved with a purchase of a bottle. A nice thing about this place is they serve meatballs along with their crackers. So you enjoy a couple of meatballs, cheese and crackers with your wine.

We asked a local where they would go with a few days in town and so many options. They pointed us to Pear Valley. A nice large tasting room but not too crowded. We had a nice local women give us our tasting. I wish I could remember her name. She had so much knowledge on the wines but also the area. $ 5 to taste six wines but if you purchase a bottle then the tasting fee is waived. They have more than six to taste so my husband & I both purchased a tasting and were able to taste 12. Overall nice wines. Nice experience to get away from the crowds. A nice place to grab a class and take a break from wine tasting. If you want a wide variety without the crowds and a reasonable tasting fee this is your place.
