I’ll start by saying — my husband and I LOVE wine and have tasted a lot of it. After much conversation, we have confirmed that Linne Calodo wine is truly the BEST wine we’ve ever tasted. We were greeted with a personalized tasting menu and an awesome guy, Neal, to tell us everything we could ever dream about Linne Calodo. The experience made us feel like royalty and the wine made us eager to buy every bottle ever made(life goals, as its priced as high as its worth). We cannot wait to return and hopefully one day join the wine club!

Linne Calodo is one of the most interesting winemakers in the region. As much as they probably don’t want the comparison, I immediately was reminded of Sine Qua Non, with their untraditional approach to the varietals, and of course the quirky names. I wouldn’t just come home from work and crack open one of their bottles – with Linne Calodo I feel that the wine has to be an event. The grounds are beautiful, with the old oak forest surrounding the beautiful tasting room. Megan was very knowledgeable and personable and really knew the wines and the process. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and can’t recommend them enough.

Before our weekend of tasting I checked a bunch of wineries out and made a reservation at Linne Calodo(you need a reservation for tasting). I got prompt and friendly responses from Kelly and she was cool with me adding two more people only a day or two before our tasting. This was out first stop on a weekend of wine tasting and really got us off to a great start. Allison was amazing and super cool with the fact that our friends were almost half an hour late. Never did she roll her eyes or look impatient or anything. She instead took us on a little tour of where the old tasting room was and talked about the history of the place. The tasting room is absolutely beautiful and super well done. If you are looking for a classy, sophisticated place to go in Paso, you should email them and make a tasting reservation. We started our tasting and it was clear Allison knew much about wine both at Linne Calodo and in general. The bf is big into wines and they talked way past what I know about wines which was great because this weekend was a present for him. The tasting was personalized with a little tasting menu which I loved taking as a keepsake. I look forward to drinking«nemesis» at home. Allison was also super cool in that she gave us ideas for where to go to dinner, told us about restaurant month, and gave us a map which ended up helping us countless times throughout the weekend as there is spotty cell service in parts of Paso so Waze dropped out on us many times and the map was the only reason we knew where we were going.

One of the absolute best wine experiences in SLO County. Exacting standards, superior fruit, knowledgeable and personable crew and a lovely location all come together to elevate LC above the rest. The wine is not cheap — there are plenty of options at a more approachable price point. If you want some of the best quality that you can find in the area, this is a must visit. The wine club events are a blast, too!

Wow! Stunning place and a really admirable story of young man with vision from years ago, creating with his family and team, what we get to experience today. Very special. The tasting was made even more enjoyable by Erica. Terrific job making my wife and I feel so at ease. Very honored to be part of the Linne Calodo family. We are on our way to Sierra Mar! Thanks Erica!

I wish I could give more stars. My group of friends joined Linne’s Amazing staff on Sunday for a 10 am tasting. We have been to many vineyards and had many tasting but this was a very special tasting. I can honestly say that the team here is the most professional and most knowledgable staff in Paso. This tasting was nothing short of perfection. Thank you to the most amazing staff for a beautiful morning and great laughs. Olivier

I’ve been here twice now and had stellar experiences both times. The wines are wonderful, the staff are some of the most knowledgeable in Paso, and the tasting room is gorgeous. The story of how the winery came to be is impressive(I’ll let them tell it). They pour the tastes into separate glasses so you can compare between tastes rather than trying to remember what the first wine tasted like when you try the fourth. They don’t provide tasting notes — which I love so your brain doesn’t get«tricked» into tasting what the wine maker describes and you can truly have your own experience. They are a small winery and they tend to run out of wine later in the year so if you’re planning a tasting then, I’d ask when making the reservation how many they are pouring. We’ll be back for sure!

Made an appointment for a tasting, went to the winery and were completely ignored. Woman pouring wine was talking to the only other group there, and didn’t even say hello. Until we walked out. There are Plenty of other wineries in Paso that have fine wine and service. Thumbs down.

We went in for a tasting over the weekend on the recommendation of a friend. Nice looking tasting room, but the atmosphere is cold and uninviting. They assign each party a person pouring only for them, which is nice in theory, but in practice the girl pouring for us was really not helpful. She didn’t really tell us anything at all about the wine, giving off the impression that we should just know how amazing their wines are. When my husband asked what she would recommend pairing a particular wine with, she just said«everything.» Also, the tasting is $ 20 and we only got 3 tastes. The wines were delicate blends of a few different varietals, but the end result just tasted kind of bland to me– nothing very stand out. We liked the third one we tasted the most, and when I inquired about the price(it wasn’t on the list), she just said«not for sale.» Okay, well, aren’t we here to buy wine? The prices were also very high, and we essentially had 2 choices(since the 3rd wine was«not for sale») — $ 78 or $ 48 for a pretty good but not stand-out bottle of wine. We felt bad leaving without buying anything(we NEVER do that!) but we just didn’t feel good about paying that price for a bottle(and an experience) that we didn’t care for. The girl also stated how she hopes Paso stays small and doesn’t get commercialized like Napa… somewhat funny to us, since Linne Calodo felt the most«Napa» of all the wineries we visited that day. No thanks.

Our driver hooked it up, got us an appointment and after the tasting the winemaker took us back into the barrel room for an amazing experience! Class place and real people along with amazing wine! It was the highlight of our day! We tasted over 18 different wines. One word awesome!

It’s rare that people take such pride in their product. Matt and the team from LC make the very best red blends that I’ve ever tasted. The Nemesis ’10 is quite possibly the best wine I’ve ever had. Try it before your knock it.

Fun driving past the entrance gate, and walking into the beautiful, airy tasting room. To our delight, we were greeted by a line of 4 generously-sized wine glasses, AND a personalized tasting menu! Service was pleasant, not as warm-and-friendly as many others we’ve experienced in the area. Considering this winery was one we’d looked forward to visiting for a while(given that reservations are required), it’s the only one(to date) that left us feeling a bit disappointed, as far as the tasting experience. Not only were we required to make a reservation, pay a $ 20/person tasting fee for 4 tastes(waived with the purchase of 2 bottles), but we were in-and-out in less than 30 minutes. While we did enjoy a couple of the wines, we walked out(even after $ 170 in purchases) feeling that this was more like Napa(just much shorter tasting time, not as genuinely inviting, and not the overall experience that made us fall in love with Paso Robles).

Our experience at Linne Calodo was beautiful! Tastings are by appointment only, and they were ready and waiting for us with a customized menu(including our family name!). The building is a new modern-rustic structure surrounded by oaks, and the tasting room is airy with large glass windows. Kelly guided us through the tasting and was extremely knowledgable and friendly. The wines were all gorgeous and are created in a style of Paso Robles meets old world European wines. Do not miss this winery!

I was initially introduced to this wine from a friend who bought a mixed case of their wines… and the two bottles that they shared with us, I absolutely loved. Since I was heading to Paso Robles the following week, I made sure to make an appointment. As suspected we loved the wine. Every single one of them. Of course we didnt walk out of their without becoming wine club members! Beautiful tasting room, friendly, very knowledgeable staff… and having your name printed on the tasting sheet for your reservation was pretty cool. Best wine & best tasting room experience during our 3 days in Paso :)

Tough to argue with this place. Appointment only tastings, so don’t think you’re just going to drop by unannounced. Very nice facility. Erica hosted us during our tasting and she was just great. No rush, no fuss. She even gave us a lay of the land and some food recommendations. If you’re going tasting, call ahead and put this place on your itinerary.

Linne Calodo is simply some of the best wine we’ve ever tasted in Paso. We had an 11am appointment with Kelly who was welcoming and tremendously knowledgeable about every aspect of the wine. We walked out with a bottle of the Problem Child and the Perfectionist. These are certainly Napa prices, but the quality is unbeatable.

Hands down, best winery in Paso. They specialize in meritages, with a tilt towards zins. Downside — you usually have to make an appointment to do tastings — which, I usually hate having to plan that far ahead — but in this case, it’s worth the time. It’s been a few years, but when I did, it was a backwoods vibe… corrugated roof over the tasting area — but I hear they’ve upgraded. But all that aside — the really important thing — the wines. Simply off the charts. I just received my last shipment — only company whose selection is so good that I’ve kept I for years without dropping. Net/net — it’s a gem… a somewhat hidden gem… and those tend to be the most enjoyable. Checkit out — it’s worth the bit of added effort

This tasting room was the group’s favorite stop of the day because of the private cellar tour, the tasty peeled, salted nuts instead of bread sticks, and the personalized menu for our birthday girl. Delicious wine, though quite expensive… the range was between $ 42 and $ 98. I’d go back to taste there again, particularly for a special event. Must try wine: Problem Child(Zinfandel, Syrah, Mourvedre blend)

For me, the gate and exclusivity of needing a reservation is a bit of a turn off. I’ve done the whole Napa reservation only thing enough times to know that this isn’t how I like to go wine tasting… But of course the hubby, who’s a bit of a wine aficionado made a reservation and away we went. Beautiful tasting room. Open and bright building with a very friendly staff as well. The wine is very good. Expensive. No waive of the tasting fee even with a decent sized purchase. Despite all the Wine Spectator buzz, I’m not sure if I’d make a return trip… there are so many great wines in Paso which are very similar in taste and quality to Linne Calodo that are priced far less… and don’t require a reservation or gate code.
