Thanks Limerock, Luke, & all the other venders for hosting a great Unilocal event. The Limerock owners(a mom & daughter team) were super-cool, warm & friendly, & wonderful hosts! They also had a lovely area just for us Unilocalers, where it was fun to hang out, meet other Unilocalers, make new Unilocal friends, enjoy the scenic views under a blue sky, and eat all kinds of goodies. I also had the pleasure of meeting some charming fellow Unilocalers & their guests. We had some fun conversations as we enjoyed the culinary delights. They also raffled a basket of goodies, that one darn lucky Unilocaler won. Thanks so much! Their Walnuts were made into all kinds of tasty goodies, like Walnut Butter & oil. Their popcorn cooked with Walnut Oil was quite tasty on it’s own…& they also had toppings. Of course their salted fresh organic Walnuts picked fresh from their backyard orchard were the best I ever had. The Unilocal event was made into something special by the owners & their warm friendly attitudes. I never had Belinis before & the recommended Peach & the Blood Orange were so good, so addicting. One was on the sweet side & one was on the tart side. My wife almost had to drag me out of there… but I was having such a good relaxing time! Somehow the time flew from 1PM-ish to about 4PM-ish. I bought a bunch of stuff to try very soon. The other venders had great cheeses, wine, port, salami, & brownies. Anyway, thanks again & it well worth the trip up to the country area of Paso. I also could not resist getting some of their specially made Walnut products to take home, like Walnut Butter, Walnut Oil, & of course fresh Walnuts! Limerock Orchards also houses two Winery tasting areas which also have high quality products. Brochelle Vineyards had a great Zinfandel & Roxo Port Cellars had the very first Ports that I have ever enjoyed… so much so, I had to take a bottle home with me. I will soon enjoy my own little tastings(maybe with a few lucky friends), with the yummy fresh products that were a must to take home, such as: two types of cheese or Walnut Butter on crackers(darned!, I forgot to buy their great Spicy Jelly), Walnuts, Popcorn with Walnut Oil, & then some Port with Brownies. I am afraid to sleep too late tomorrow, because my wife may finish off the Brownies & Walnuts before I wake up. One type of Brownie had a generous topping of super-fresh Limerock Walnuts… so I had to get an extra three of those! If you want a nice drive into the country that is a bit off the beaten path(filled with tourists), I would highly recommend that you check out Limerock! I am sure that I will be coming back for some more of their unique products… humm…maybe they can mail me that great Spiced Jelly! Thanks again, for hosting a fantastic afternoon!

LOVELOVELOVE Limerock! Amazing setting with incredible products. I use the walnut oil in place of butter in much of my baking. I also use it instead of olive oil in my everyday cooking. It adds a rich flavor to the food and can make any great dish amazing! They also have a wonderful selection of merchandise beyond the walnut oil. A must stop on any wine tour for sure!!!

My boyfriend and I booked a trip to wine country last month, but we wanted to find things to do in Paso Robles that were unique since we’ve been to the area so many times before. Whalebone recommended that we go to Limerock Orchards. I’m not a huge walnut fan but I’m glad we went. This is not just wine and crackers like other places… the family that owns the place actually farms the walnuts themselves. They do complimentary tastings of the walnuts and walnut oil, plus a bunch of other walnut stuff. They also have a whole artisan food store with samples of vinegar, chocolate, honey, etc. It was nice to be able to try other things, too. I also liked the fact that you can do wine and port tasting in the same place. Both of the wineries were friendly and had at least a couple of bottles we really liked. We’re planning on coming back to Paso in the spring and I’m going to make Limerock our lunch stop. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for something different in Paso.
