Great wines at Hunt Cellars. I was there from the beginning and assisted David and Debbie with the purchases of their properties. And yes, it was an adventure. Great job David I have watched your dream come true.

Love the wine but the service was horrible as soon as we walked in the tasting room he keep asking is all kind of questions non stop like he was investigating a crime!!!

Great customer service. It was the last winery in our day and by far the friendliest! The gentleman was really friendly, welcoming and outgoing. He made us feel like part of the family! Thank you for your spirit and amazing wine!

We came back to my favorite winery after being away for 15 years. We found this little winery when we were dating and toured Paso Robles. The owner and wine maker is blind, so his other senses are heightened. I love the Hunt reds more then any other wines on earth.
15 years later, my husband and I drive up to Hunt winery again. The small, casual meeting room is very inviting. The bartender sat and discussed all the wines. I picked the red flight, because that is what Paso Robles is all about. Don’t drink white in Paso Robles (Yuck!).
This is the only wine my non-​wine drinking hubby will drink. He loves the reds at Hunt. This winery is a MUST visit to anyone visiting Paso Robles area! Oh Yeah, I am a Hunt wine club member!

Came for dinner and wine tasting her for the Zinfandel festival! And wow!!! Just wow! We were blown away! The food they served was spectacular and all the wines were delicious!!! The owner was very nice and personally introduced every wine we got served and told us it’s story! At the end of dinner we even got an extra special treat to where the owner played the piano for us! Not only does this place serve wonderful wine ! They also have impeccable customer service!!! Truly enjoyed our time at hunt cellars!!! If you need to try a place this is your spot!

Very friendly and knowledge tasting host. Made the newbies in the group feel encouraged. Not intimidating at all. Cellar tasting was awesome. Very cool to taste from a barrel not on the market. Highly recommend.

We stopped by this winery on accident, and it was the best accident of the day! The employee poured us generous portions, and didn’t even bother counting. She was kind, offered great conversation, and EVERY single wine we tasted was fantastic, which isn’t normally the case. They allowed us to play their baby grand piano, and even allowed another couple’s well behaved dogs. A must visit. Great Unilocal deals too!

Joined Hunt Cellars several years ago when visiting our son at Cal Poly. Was a treat today to sit on the deck sipping fast wines with Framily. A real treat to enjoy such delicious wines at reasonable prices.

Been coming to Wine taste in Paso Robles for 6 years. Came in on My Birthday 5÷24÷2015. We LOVED it. The wine is so delicious and different then anything else in Paso Robles. Amber was great and went into the cellar and let us try a 2004 Chardonnay. We ended up buying 6 bottles and joined the Wine Club. I can NOT WAIT to come back the end of August to take our engagement pictures. The Port is so Yummy. We are saving the 2006 Syrah.
My favorite is the Cirq d Blanc. I can’t wait to buy more on our next Visit. Mr. Hunt your wine is definitively memorable.

I adore this winery. The first time I came here I was in awe and decided next time I came I’d join the Hunt Club, so I did. The wine pourers are extremely knowledgable and kind. You can ask them all kinds of questions, and they have an answer. Now some may say their wine is a bit pricey ($ 30-​$ 80), but you have to keep in mind, they serve wines from the early 2000’s!!! For that reason, I would describe their prices as a deal! Wine tasting is $ 10 for 6 tastes, $ 15 for the reserve, which I totally recommend. There is beautiful seating here. Enough to bring a family, have a bbq, play bocce ball, etc. I do not work here, just a huge advocate of amazing wineries. You are truly missing out if you have not visited Hunt Cellars.

I want to say that this review is about our experience in Hunt Cellars tasting room and not about their wines whatsoever. I think David Hunt is an amazing winemaker.
We first heard about Hunt Cellars last year at the Central Coast Wine Classic. After tasting their wine there we were duly impressed and decided to make the drive the next day out to Paso for a few purchases. I’m glad we did. Their wine is amazing! We especially love their Port and bought several bottles of wine when we were there along with their Port. With that being said we were SUPER excited to visit Hunt Cellars again this year on our annual trip.
Upon entering the tasting room there was only one other couple at the bar so it wasn’t crowded. Amber was behind the bar and didn’t even make eye contact with us or say hello. She did finally acknowledge us and asked if we were familiar with the wine. Once I mentioned we were there last year she then said, «well you know the drill then» and proceeded to lay out 3 pieces of paper in front of us. No explanation no nothing. Then about 60 seconds later she proceeded to ask us what will we have. I barely had time to read all the paperwork she set in front of us let alone to make a decision about what tasting or what wine we were interested in. From there it went all down hill. She just seemed like she was completely put out about having to be behind the bar. We did buy a couple of bottles but ONLY because of the product, MOST definitely not because of the customer service.
We left there feeling deflated and disappointed in our experience. It’s too bad because we really enjoy the wine. Left us with a sour taste in our mouth.

We went on our annual Paso trip last week, and as always, we stopped at Hunts at the end of our first day. We had our normal awesome experience – stayed over an hour (as usual). The wine of course is great. Got to tell you – your new Zinovation was probably one of the best wines you have ever made. PLEASE put it in a wine club shipment!
More important – I wanted to complement Amber. What an awesome employee! She took fantastic care of us and made us feel like home, even though this was our first meeting! Keep up the great work! We keep recommending Hunts Cellars to everyone we know who is going to Paso that it’s the #1 stop they need to make!

Earlier I wrote about two Zinfandel vintages that were corked (2002). I have since opened a 2001 Reserve Outlaw Ridge Vineyard Zin and was very pleased it had retained its berry and nose. There was no indication of a corkage concern.
Mr. Hunt did reply to my earlier rating and indicated they strive to have the best corkage for their wines and at times there may be some that didn’t hold up over time. I appreciated his note and willingness to replace the bottles.

After getting in touch with someone at the winery we have everything straightened out and are enjoying our wines. Thank you for the wonderful wines that you sent I have enjoyed the Red Velvet it has become my favorite. Hope to be enjoying your wines for many more years.

Wine is an art form in many ways… Not only in the form of presentation of the gallery it represents, but the taste, experience and memory of that time in your life… I’ve dabbled into many wines in the 10 years I’ve been introduced… Ups, downs and all a rounds… Personally speaking, I can honestly say that Hunt Cellars is by far a shock and awe! The taste has class with a cult type admiration… I’m a fan of the red but can say that that I’ve tinkered into the whites as well… Thanks to my wife… Suggestion, try Thriller, Benchmark, Zinfandel Rocketman (2007) and tsk, tsk, my favorite… «Time in a Bottle»… This is not a 5 star rating… A 10+! Prices are great and the savor is better!!! Thank you Hunt Cellars for introducing me to the other side of the grove…

Exceptional experience! Cozy and down to earth feeling in the tasting room and I was blown out of the water with their wines! They have much more body to them than most of the Paso areas wines. You won’t regret stopping at this convenient location. Make sure to try the ‘Thriller’.

WONDERFUL wines! WONDERFUL experience! We’ve been part of the Hunt Wine Club many years and they have NEVER disappointed. I love that when I can’t break away to go to Paso, Paso is right here with me through their Wine Club. Attending a Hunt Wimemaker Dinner is a real treat with David Hunt and I highly recommend the experience. It’s warm, friendly and layered with culinary excellence with amazing wine parings… topped off with and eveing of music by David Hunt himself. Priceless!

Think twice before joining their wine club because if you want to cancel your membership, it’s pretty much impossible to do so. I emailed them back in April telling them to cancel my membership (I had already received their required 12 bottles/​year so I was within my rights to cancel). After the May shipment I again emailed them to reiterate that I had cancelled my membership and to please stop charging my card and sending me shipments.
Just today I received yet another shipment and again my credit card has been charged. I am so upset. I called them today and left a message and yet again emailed them. Not sure if their email is even valid or if anyone ever checks it. I even filed a dispute with my credit card company. I think I will have to mail them a certified/​return receipt letter at this point.
Bad customer service and mediocre wine at hefty prices.

My girlfriend and I came to Cambria for a couples getaway that we purchased from travelzoo. The travelzoo deal included wine tastings at 6 different vineyards and this was one of them! Our host was Amber, and she was great! She was knowledgeable and very patient, which was a good thing because we were having trouble choosing which wines to taste.
The wine was superb! We ended up leaving with two bottles for a great price! This winery serves you wine with pretzels and chocolate to cleanse the pallet and pair with certain wines. No complaints, all good vibes!
