Another rainy day adventure that I TOTALLYLOVED. This place looks beautiful and would be a nice place to have a wedding.(just a thought), but it is out in the middle of nowhere. My date took me here and he knows I’m not a big wine buff, but I like sweet stuff. We walked in and there was hardly anyone there(thats the best time to go wine tasting. so the attendant’s can actually serve and talk to you. Our attendant was awesome. She was sweet and knowledgeable. she took the time to ask what I liked… I told her. I like wines that are sweet and refreshing… and she narrowed down what I’d like on the 2nd try. It was a sweet dessert wine and I haven’t had anything like that since. I can’t remember the name of it, but I’m so sad that I didn’t buy a bottle that day :.( If I recall correctly, they also have some movie thing downstairs, that you can see during your tasting. The tasting was reasonably priced, great variety of whites and dessert wines.

terrible service, there are so many other wineries that aren’t a hoax of a napa wannabe.

This vineyard is very nice. Many people have weddings here. The building itself is new and nice and the inside is spacious with a bar area to taste at. Our pourer was knowledgeable and we were able to tailor our tasting to all whites. The tasting is $ 5 or free if you are a wine club member. This entails anywhere from 2 to 12 bottles shipped to you every 3 months and average $ 25 a bottle. The wines are all good here. They had some case specials for half off which came out to $ 7.50 per bottle so we stocked up on those and were able to build our own case. There is also a 30% off for wine club members. They have affiliated vineyards in Santa Ynez that are part of the deal. They also have a loft upstairs that you can stay at for a resonable price. We did not see this, was just told about it.

This was our first stop on a wine tour(just me and my girlfriend). The grounds that the tasting room sat on were great. The tasting room was a large modern room with vaulted ceilings. Lots of room for people, although we were the only ones there. The lady that was helping us was very knowledgeable and fun. She let us taste all their open wines(around 10) pulled out cheese to have us pair the wine with and showed us a new device called a Venturi and let us do a side by side taste test. Every wine had great flavor and aromas. We ended up taking home 2 bottles and 2 wine glasses. The wine was also very decently priced. I will definitely be coming back here in the future.

For this winery it was a slow Mother’s Day. I bought a small bottle of local Granny apple cider which was sweet. If you’re not drinking the branded merchandise isn’t interesting but they do sell a copy of the Top Chef cookbook. It was quite modern compared to the other two we looked at in the area. My friend was looking for a dessert wine as a gift for her sister. She finally found a sweet one in the late harvest muscat as well as a cabernet for herself. The dessert wine was impressive. There were only a couple of people working. They only had crackers and infused oil out on the counter. You can share your wine here.

This was my first time here and I thought the wines were pretty descent. At least we ended up with a case of the Zin and Cab that they had on special. The tasting room was large and they had sausages to go with some mustards and such that they sell. The gal that poured for us was really nice and friendly. They did have a tasting fee at $ 4 /$ 8 if you wanted the glass. The one thing that wasn’t cool was even though I bought 2 cases of wine, they didn’t waive that tasting fee. Minus one star for that. Overall, it’s a good wine. You know, they should also have beer tastings especially during the summer.

Their wines did not impress me at all. I would call them low end 100000 case productions even tho I know they are not. No character, very little structure and not worth the time or money. If that were not bad enough, the tasting room is right next to the Wine Country RV Resort and the Paso Water Slides. Sign me up for tasting here each weekend. NOT

I didn’t think I’d like this place after our sub-par tasting experience at Robert Hall but the young lady who poured for us had some good energy and even though we slid in right before closing(I’m talking 5 minutes before) she still welcomed us and we had a great time. Tried the $ 5 flights(great deal since you can keep the Riedel glass and who couldn’t use another glass? we always break ours I went through 2 dozen in Denver in 2 years, one dozen were Riedels), nothing too memorable about the wine except for their dessert wines(and I usually don’t do dessert wines). Left there with some crackers and cheese. Overall decent experience in this strange new tasting rooms that are sprouting about in Paso Robles. The tasting room itself is spanking new and felt like a very modern tasting room that one could find in Napa or Sonoma.

This is the new tasting room for the Firestone Vineyards in Paso Robles. The complex looks swanky and modern. The tasting room is spacious. The wine is… not so great. The pour girl seemed uninformed and unenthusiastic too. Tasting fee is $ 5, and you get to keep the glass.
