Sadly, the past reviews seems a bit abrupt and extreme. I travel to LA fairly often, and my first experience with Vendome was with their Beverly Hills location. I happened to be in the Pasadena area, and figured that it was worth a stop. I was greeted upon my arrival, asked if I was looking for anything special, had my questions answered, and was recommended a pretty stellar beer from Beachwood Brewing, that was less than 2 weeks old. I can’t really complain about anything. If you’re looking for a good craft beer/liquor shop, this is place in Pasadena. Ask for Long!

Love the Friday evening tastings. Alan is wonderful as host and knowledgeable as sommelier. Wine and beer selection is excellent, prices a little high but with specials there are some finds. And they carry some really high end wines that otherwise hard to find!

I planned on buying all of my Christmas presents for this year, here. I heard about the decent craft beer selection from a friend but was also given the caveat that the customer service is fairly poor. Well, I suppose I got what I had coming. 3 seconds after my wife and I entered we were not greeted rather received with a huff and a, «just so you know. we’re closing in 10 minutes.» I looked at my phone. It was 7:35pm and the posted closing time is 8:00pm. I took a glance at the selection but was fuming because of this guy’s attitude so much that I couldn’t bear the thought of spending my hard earned $ here and promptly left. As we walked out the door we heard a clearly condescending«.thanks»

Good selection of beer with a lot of style and brand variety. Attractive store that is clean and nicely laid out. The wine selection looks good, but I didn’t spend much time looking at wine. Prices are reasonable to a bit pricey but not significantly so. And most things were more on the reasonable side than pricey. Great selection of hard to find and small distribution beers. On my most recent visit they had a little bit of everything from Fifty Fifty(Eclipse), Almanac, Prairie(bible belt), Cascade to ubiquitous California beers like stone and firestone.

I have been sitting at Vendome for the past two hours at their widely advertised champagne & caviar event. Let me start off with the good. The 8 pours are generous for the flight price of $ 24. That’s the good. The rest is what you have to put up with. Drinking champagne from a Bordeaux glass? Really??? If you’re going to do a champagne tasting then serve it in a champagne glass!!! Next, please dispense with the attitude. I’m here to enjoy the overpriced wine. Just because I drink champagne doesn’t mean I want the French attitude also. This place seems like it wants to be a destination but as a wine buyer, a wine lover, and a wine drinker I must say Pasadena offers better places that appreciate their customers much more. Overall I chalk this Up to a lousy experience. I came with high hopes and leave disappointed.

New location, bigger and better than ever. If you don’t like wine they have a big selection of beer now. Not just any beer but some good craft beers for you to choose from. If you are new to wine this is a good place to learn as they have $ 1 tasting on Thursday, they also have tasting on Friday but those are a little more expensive. They have beer tasting on Saturday afternoon. Every Saturday is a different type of beer sometimes they even pair it with some food although the food is more the exception that the rule. If you like wine or beer this is a good place to visit. Drop by the shop to pick up a calendar of events. You can park on Lake or in the parking lot behind the shop.

I walked past this place last week on a Friday and it was closed.(After 9 pm) Today I was curious enough to find out about this place so I decided to walk down there on a Saturday evening. Walking in I was immediately greeted with a «Can I help you? Would you like to and a couple of wine tasters?» I told him yes that I would be tasting but that I had wanted to take a look at the store. Wine, whiskey, gin, vodka, tequila and yes beer can be found here. I love beer most of all and hold it deal to my palate and my heart. The lay out of the place is nicely done. Row after row of wines from various parts for the U.S., and the World, are in neat little rows. On the north facing wall are all sorts of fine sprits like fine whisky, gin, vodka, etc. My eyes were immediately drawn to the 10 year aged bottle of Bushmill Irish Whisky at $ 30. Next time. Next time. Next time! I said to myself. As I continued to look through the store my eye became intrinsically fixated on the four pack of Sierra Nevada Whole-Cone Imperial IPA called Hoptimum(ALC10.4% by Vol) — WOW!!! Sierra Nevada is my absolute favorite brewery and I had never seen this beer before so I had to buy it. There was only one four pack left and I had to have it. Mine! mine! mine! I tell you. All mine! The sales person told me that he would place the beer in the back as I did my wine tasting. All that I can say is that my first experience here was very positive and yes I will be returning. At $ 1 a taste, for the wines that I had, I could not complain. This is a great place to take a date, bring friends or come by your self if one wants to. This is a great addition to Lake Avenue and I know that I will be returning here with friends ready and eager to drink anything Vendome Wine & Spirits has to offer. Thank You and I look forward to many happy returns.
