I heard about this event through a friend who saw it on Goldstar, but I bought the deal on LivingSocial(Goldstar wanted to charge an extra $ 6/ticket as a convenience fee) which was way better. For $ 25 we got 12 tastings, an acrylic wine glass, a tip sheet and program for the day. It was a beautiful day at the racetrack and it wasn’t too crowded. We valeted our car and checked into the event very easily. There were several food trucks to choose from next to the main booth where we picked up our tasting tickets and the lines weren’t too bad. As for the wine tasting itself– meh. The event was from noon to 5pm. It would have been nice if there were more wineries and if they had brought more wine. Several of them were out of wine by 2pm and all but a couple were out by 4pm. We had a lot of tickets leftover, which is disappointing. I love the racetrack, but I’m not sure if I would come back for this event. Definitely not for the full ticket price of $ 50/person for general admission.

Location: Santa Anita Race Track… downsides: $ 4 parking when I wish it was free! Try parking next door at the mall and then walking over to save a few bucks! Venue: Great! The Santa Anita Race Track is very open, big and beautiful! It’s a great place to watch some horse races while sipping on wine. Got a good deal on this event through Goldstar and paid about $ 25 for a ticket when normally they’re about $ 50. For $ 25 I got to keep an acrylic wine glass as well as 12 tickets for 12, 2oz wine tastings at various booths. Wine vendors: overall not that great of quality… maybe I just picked the wrong ones but didn’t find a wine there I was really impressed by Food vendors: Pretty good! There were some pastry booths as well as cookie booths, very good! Food trucks: Lots of big name food trucks were there with a great seating area! Would I come back again? Probably not. Don’t think I would have paid full price for this event considering the wine wasn’t of the best quality? Also the crowd that came was really interesting… It’s like people tried to dress well for the racetrack but gave up half way… great for people watching
