Small place right by the hospital. I work right across from them, right across the parking lot… so somehow once in a while I’ll find myself eating here… Usually 3 people working… 2 making the food and the Korean lady(owner?) at the cashier. I usually call and have them get the food ready till I walk down the stairs, across the parking lot and make my way and still wait 5 min till they have the food ready… The burgers are just ok. nothing special. the Turkey burger tastes like cardboard, don’t get it… the chicken burger is not real chicken in the menu it says(chicken substitute) I stay away from that. The fries are really good… That gives them the extra star… I had the Acapulco Club that I actually enjoyed a lot… It has Chicken breast, avocado, tomato, bacon, lettuce on a french roll… the only thing really worth getting there. Prices are OK! they recently raised prices. but sometimes you wonder if I pay 6 $ for a sandwich and another 3 for fries I might as well go somewhere else since the food doesn’t really meet the standards… Side note: They recently got the new packets of ketchups, you know the ones that you can dip your fries into, or squeeze it out of the corner, the Korean lady is being really cheep about it, its really funny. I got a burger with fries once and asked her for ketchup. She handed me ONE. Im a ketchup freak so I asked for«extra ketchup» she said«I GIVEYOUVON*) I said well I use it on the burger and fries. she hands me ONE more. haha I asked her 4 times until I got 4 ketchup packs and she seemed really mad about it… *VON = One

3 stars = 5 stars for convenience + 1 for rude cashier/screeching Asian lady + 3 for food. More of a cafeteria than a restaurant, you grab a tray & order at the counter. Small salad bar & self-serve drinks. Cooks prepare hot food or sandwiches to order. I am assuming the reviewer living in TX(2009 post) who knows so much about the ethnicity of the owners & sounds like an ad for the Plaza Café is a relative, so that review should be viewed as such. «Good service» from the cooks, yes. And«low prices» is WAY off base. If the woman who never smiles, barks orders at staff & barely says a word other than«next!» to customers is the owner, she could use some customer service training. She doesn’t even greet you or give you your total. She just rings it up and sits there, expecting you to look at the readout on the register. The menu selection is diverse, but they don’t have half of what is posted. It sucks when you figure out what you want, only to order & be told«no ____today». I always choose a back-up, but the last time I was there, my friend got shot down on her first THREE choices(and we were there around 12:30om, not just before closing or anything). Anything I’ve ordered that is cooked by the very sweet, accommodating ladies behind the counter has been delicious & generously portioned. Beware of when the owner(?) is the only one there, as she is doing too much at once AND is chintzy on the portions, sides, condiments. When she forgets orders because she is preparing food and cashiering, it’s a huge pain when you’re on lunch hour from work or on your way to a doctor’s appointment next door. Daily lunch specials are yummy. Their spaghetti is decent according to friends, and the carnitas tacos are great. Fries are chunky«steak fries» & addictive. They weigh your salad-bar salads, so it gets REAL expensive even if you use a small container. Sandwiches are good but WAY overpriced. Again, there is an issue of «we don’t have that…» including a lot of the ingredients listed on the sandwich board(not even the advertised types of bread!) No free refills on anything. The impression I get is the owners are cheap & just there to make money without caring if the customer is satisfied(let alone happy). If this was not located next to several medical buildings(with a default clientele of patients & office workers), it would have gone out of business despite the food being good(& the cooks very nice).

I came in to get a juice and my mom got a soda. The woman working the grill was very polite, even at 9am. The cashier, however, was really rude. She was sitting down at a table with her laptop open, while talking on the phone very loudly in an Asian language. She put her finger up at us and made us wait while she finished something on her computer. When she finally came over, she continued her loud conversation without saying a single word. Forgot to mention that she was also eating! With her apron on! Major health code no-no. Icky. It’s convenient if you’re waiting on someone at the outpatient surgery center next door, but the service sucks.

This is a small café outside the medical plaza. It’s greatly convenient for people who work in the area. Place is owned by a Korean couple so you will see Korean dishes as daily specials along with breakfast fares, burgers, tex-mex, etc… Low prices. Good service. Free wi-fi. Great lunch spot.
