I get the wings extra crispy and fries extra crispy you can’t go wrong!!! Good texture, good spices, not to juicy and not to dry, its better than roscoes wings

Ok service. The fried chicken was dry and not seasoned, but their shrimp chow mein is amazingly good.

Ordered the spicy combination fried rice and it was decent. They filled up the take out box but I did taste a bit burnt flavor. I probably won’t come back because you cannot eat there and the bullet proof glass does not inspire me.

I gotta admit for it being a Chinese fast food slash fried chicken spot this is one of the better Fried Chicken eats I’ve had. Never mind that overrated chicken n waffles spot down the street Louisiana Fried got that chicken that’ll make you slap yo momma for!

Visiting from Chicago, I wanted food from the hood. I looked it up on Unilocal and visited this place. Boy the gumbo is delicious!!! The bread roll was soft, fresh and just out of this world. The chicken wings were a bit dry but not too greasy. I will be going back one more time before returning to Chicago. Hopefully would live to Unilocal about it. Lol

It’s definitely a hole in the wall place. In fact, it’s so hole-in-the-wall, I was kinda nervous to get out of my car. But it was worth it. I love their chicken and their fries. And I have always received my food hot. Even their Chinese food is great. Especially their chicken chow mien. This is a definitely a favorite. The Louisiana Chicken on Lake Ave tastes a lot different to me and not as good. I’m not sure why.

Ask for it to be cooked fresh, get it and go. I only do this on rare occasions, however, when I want /need a fried chicken fix(not often). This is joint where i go.

The only reason why I still speak to my Aunt, is because she recommended this place to me & my pops. I know it may seem weird to a lot of people, chinese & fried chicken together… I think it’s genius. I mean especially for those munchie moments, but then again that’s why I’m a fattie. Anyhow, you can beat all the little meal deals they have going on. This place is great to either pick up fast food chinese or fried chicken for the family. The chicken is always super crispy on the outside, but perfectly tender on the inside. Throw some Louisiana hot sauce on that bitch and we’re good to go lol! My favorite menu item on the chinese side, orange chicken. OMG! Sweet, yet tangy, crispy bites of orange chicken heaven. My only recommendation is to not go right when school gets out. You’ll have to wait for awhile.

Ignore the naysayers. They wouldn’t know about fried chicken if it landed on their heads. We were keeping the Game of Thrones party goin’ and our host asked if I could hook it up with some of that famed Louisiana Fried Chicken. I obliged. I bought the 12 piece meal that came with one large side(fried rice) and 1 small side(french fries) and a gang of biscuits. The biscuits are cute in that they’re straight up «pan de leche» rolls. The chicken and sides were amazing as usual. The icing on the proverbial cake was the bomb ass Thai Iced Tea served. It’s the best I’ve ever had. In fact, I’m drinking some right now. I made a special trip just for the Thai Iced Tea.

This is the second Louisian Fried chicken that I’ve gone to. The other one is on Lake Ave north of Washington, it offers donuts. So, this place offers Fried chicken and Chinese food. The fried chicken lucks flavor, the«fried rice» is terrible. The rolls, while store bought(they are pan de leche) are awesome. The Cajun rice tasted lie they took steamed rice and added cumin. If you want Chinese, I would rather go to China Express on Lake, just north of Washingot(1 mile-ish), if you want fried chicken, there is a Church’s chicken on Fair Oaks and Orange grove(¾ mile?). It’s not that cheap either, you can get better chicken at Food 4 Less at Lake/Washington and the same rolls.

Interesting, fried chicken and chinese food?! Got tricked, hope the cken ordered turns out good. Lively park across st. Yup got tricked. Looked like a friend chicken southern food joint… its more of a fast food chinese joint. Across the park, so you can eat across there cause there are no tables here. Parking is free.

You know what, I’ll admit it, this review is bias. Yes, its bias because unless you sometimes relish in a quick, cheap meal, this may not appeal to you… Also, if you’re not into fried chicken, or chinese-inspired take out… this may not be for you… And lastly, if you do not reside in or visit the Jackie Robinson park/La Pintoresca park region of Pasadena(in-between Altadena and Old-Town Pasadena)…this may not be for you. Now, for those of us who are in a rush, want a deal, and appreciate the urban-style cuisine, then look no further. This place has deals you just have to appreciate when you don’t want to wait long or spend alot. A few times a week when I want a snack, I just pop in and get the $ 1.99 special… You can inquire, «What, pray-tell, is the $ 1.99 special»… To which I would respond«Well, kind-sir, kind-ma’am, the $ 1.99 special consists of a decent sized chicken thigh, a basket full of french fries, a small(very small) drink, and a dinner roll». «Great for kids, or adults wanting something in between meals». My point? Where else are you going to find that? In addition, they have a NEW hot plate/buffet style layout that came out this week, and the sides(small size) are also… thats right…$ 1.99! Conclusion: I would have given it a 5 out of 5 if I hadn’t lost my old cell phone there back in October… this place has everything! EDIT: 7÷1÷2011 The special is back… but its $ 2.50 now, still totally worth it. Also, gonna go ahead and make this 5 stars… not their fault I lost my phone!

To tell you the truth, I’m not much of a fried chicken fan. On this day, I drove my cracker ass to the north Pasadena ghetto for a very different reason: to try the orange chicken, as recommended by Gerard I.(who hasn’t steered me wrong yet). Sure, like he said, there were a few gang-bangers hanging out on the corner… but I wasn’t scared. I was on a mission — and a solitary large white guy with a shaved head and mirrored sunglasses, walking with purpose through the hood, usually gets left alone. =] The orange chicken was awesome — huge pieces of crispy sweet & sour goodness, with perfect sticky rice, in huge portions — for under $ 5. Seriously, there must have been two pounds of chicken and a pound of rice. Pic: After I ordered, I was looking at the rest of the menu and saw a sign on the window that read, «Philly Cheesesteak Eggrolls, 2 for $ 2.50.» I couldn’t imagine what kind of evil sorcery was behind this, and my curiosity got the best of me. Sure enough, they were evil alright… deliciously evil. Pic: I probably knocked an entire year off my life expectancy with that one meal, but you only live once. Actually, I got almost three meals out of the deal. Next time, my mission will be the fried catfish. =P~

When we realized we didn’t have enough food, the boys went down the street to this Louisiana Fried Chicken to grab some sides. They arrived with another box of chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, cole slaw, macaroni salad and potato salad. Oh, and more rolls. Comparing the chicken from the South Central location, I would say the chicken was a bit drier but not in a bad way. At least it wasn’t greasy. The mashed taters were terrible. And the gravy that went with it was strangely very dark and just«salty.» I didn’t try the macaroni or potato salads. However, I really liked their cole slaw. The boys said the service at this one was really good and the Chinese food section was«next door.» Oh, but they did buy some doughnuts which they said wasn’t that great. I replied, «are they chickeny?» «Oh, that’s just FOWL.» Ha. 2.5

I felt like kicking myself after I tried this place. Pasadena has been disappointing so far in the realm of fried chicken, and this place could make Popeye’s, Church’s, and KFC collectively laugh at once. This place interestingly also sells pseudo-Chinese food(by pseudo I mean a’la Panda Express style bastardized Chinese fast food) too, which I don’t think I will bother with. I’m reviewing just the chicken, as I ordered a four piece a’la carte with wing, drumstick, thigh, and breast. The skin is just really poorly dredged, done quick and sloppy because you get a really tepid crunch when you bite in and there are globs of grease embedded between the skin and the meat. Everything is moist at least, and that was a plus. But none of the flavoring made it past the half-millimeter of half-assed seasoned dredging on the exterior, so I might as well have chewed on boiled chicken. The seasoning at least tries to live up to the Louisiana name, as you get faint traces of cajun seasoning in that half-millimeter of outer pseudo crunchiness they were so generous with. But that cajun flavor is so weak, so delicate, that it dissipates before your taste buds can get a solid impression, influencing you to take quicker, more frequent bites and subsequently having you finish your meal real quick in search of flavor. Well, tell you what. You can come pretty darn close to their version of «Lousiana» flavor with a bottle of Tapatio sauce. IFTHATWASTOOLONGTOREAD, LETMESUMMARIZE: THISPLACEDOESNOTHINGRIGHT. Ok, so I was a little harsh saying Pasadena as a whole is dissapointing, because it’s not. There’s a Roscoe’s(good, not great) and Popeye’s(good, but GREAT value at least) not too far away. And while it wasn’t factored into my review, the price of this place is kind of laughable if you compare it to Popeye’s(a VASTLY superior choice, despite being a chain), and I raged hard enough for my ears to start seeping blood when I saw that they packaged two little ketchup packets in my take-out bag. Not hot sauce, KETCHUP. 0⁄5.

Thanks for the welcome, but I won’t be coming back anytime soon. I agree this is a nice neighborhood take-out spot. It is good for a quick pick up, but it is just fast food. I came here based on the two previous reviews and the fact that Bill’s Chicken was closed after 6pm on Sunday. I knew there was a problem as soon as I walked through the door of this take-out place but I was still optimistic. Placed my order through the bullet-proof glass(strange they don’t have the bullet-proof lazy susan like my hometown of Philly). I got my order quickly. What I got was well-seasoned, chicken and institutional cole slaw. The chicken had the fried texture of a baked frozen dinner entrée. I got four pieces for 5 dollars. I ate a little and tossed it. It is just food to get you full, not to get you excited. I felt bad for being wasteful, but I didn’t want to eat anymore unhappiness. It is kind of joyless like KFC. The chicken is not as good as KFC from a texture standpoint. It is not as good as Roscoe’s a mile down the street. It will probably not be as good as Bill’s. I will have to hit that up sometime. Sorry for the tough review but I feel misled from the previous reviews. I did not review the Chinese food, but seriously, why would you eat that at a chicken restaurant.
