Love the concept here. Order, pay, sit. Seat yourself. Outdoor seating too. Runners bring food and they are super friendly. You can order two drinks for yourself to make it easy. No waiting for a waitress to take your order. Great appys — hit this place just for happy hour. Flat bread, wings, fries, pub food all tasty. Guys I went with liked the beer choices. But the BEST drink on the menu is the Speak Memory(which should be called Forget Memory — cause they are strong) and I’m not complaining. Hard to find a strong drink or good pour at places. Super tasty! Great bartenders. Trendy, hip. Public parking around the corner. You can go nuts walking around with all the great places around town. Wear comfy shoes and check it all out.

Lively place with a great beer selection. There are two bars and an outdoor patio. They have shuffle board, but it isn’t available when a band is playing. There is no table service and the line for drinks can get long, but it is still fun.

I give King’s Row Gastropub 4 stars only for the ambiance… their mixed drinks aren’t that great, and I feel they are more geared towards beer, so not being a beer drinker… King’s Row food also leaves a lot to be desired, and their prices are a little steep, for the portions. The fries are good, but small, the wings are also good. The cheese naan is doughy. The charcuterie tray is decent. All in all, the ambiance is good, and if you go during Happy Hour you can get a decent amount of drinks for a reasonable price, but don’t go for the food(though the Nutella Pie is yummy!).

I love this place for many reasons. First, their food is excellent. I’ve tried a lot of things here and have never been disappointed. The bartenders are always great. They know their stuff. And the beers on tap always have great variety. Second, their patio. I love that the windows are open and the patio has such great lighting for the evening. Taking friends here and hanging out is truly one of my favorite things to do in Pasadena. Third, they have great trivia nights. Definitely a fantastic local spot in Pasadena for friends, hangouts, music, and just a good time.

Great outdoor seating area. Inside kind of small. Second room has a live band. The bathroom is located in the basement. Overall cool chill spot when its not too busy. But once it gets crowded its harder to get around.

Kings Row always has awesome beers on draft. They typically have beers from at least three of my favorite breweries, Lost Abbey, Monkish, and Smog City. Last time we visited I found a great new brewery to put on my list to visit called Ladyface. Other notes: They have a DAILY happy hour(yes you heard that right, daily) that offers great deals on burgers, fries, and fish and chips. My daughter digs their Macaroni and Cheese so its fun all around, food wise. I like the type of place where I can go and despite the group I am with, always have a good time. Sometimes its a nice day drinking mellow date day, sometimes its party time, reggae brunch Sunday fun-day group time. Other times, it’s hanging out with my 10 year old daughter catching a quick snack someplace where I can have a beer and know she is kept busy playing pinball or arcade games. In other words: It’s that rare place that can transition with my life. Even in at the busiest times I have been there, I have always received great service at the bar. Solid four stars.

Enjoyable pub located in Old Town Pasadena, conveniently in the alley as you exit the Green St/Fair Oaks Public parking structure. Walked by many times and finally decided to stop by, and did enjoy my time. I got their pulled pork sandwich(tons of flavor and tender meat) which was good, but the sandwich is hard to mess up if we’re being honest. I also got their Naan bread appetizer(not what you’d expect in an Pub), which had all the right flavors but was a bit starchy and not as refined as the ones in Indian restaurants. I didn’t get to try their fish and chips, which I heard was good, but probably will my next time. Solid place, just nothing wonderful in particular. With so many great places in Old Town, I would prefer to go elsewhere though.

The bartender charged me for $ 60 when I ordered 2 cocktails so I asked for a receipt after they corrected it to be sure it looked correct. As I was signing their tip, the bartender says«don’t look at me with that look of inferiority», I calmly asked him«what did you say?» And the manager comes up and tells my boyfriend and I to leave. If a bartender can’t handle making a mistake he has no business working in a public place. And the manager should take a few more classes on how to run a business before being allowed back on the floor. Definitely won’t be coming back here, but like the manager so politely put it… «They won’t need our business anyway!»

Favorite veggie burger in LA. I’m so happy this place is down the street from my school. Their patio is great for homework and the local beer selection is incredible.

Go here and order the wings! Perfectly crispy and nailed the spicy/sweet flavor. Had Stone Enjoy By on tap, always a bonus. A guy(manager or owner I think) noticed our beer taste and came over to chat. He was good enough to give us a sample of a very limited release Stone beer to see how we liked it(we loved it, always awesome when someone who knows beer is there to make recommendations). Can’t wait to go back.

This is the second time I’ve been here and I love the outdoor seating! The heating lamps are great for the cold nights and there’s a sense of privacy due to the planters placed around the outside seating area. Order inside for food/drinks so I’d suggest grabbing a table before ordering! We ordered the classic burger in honor of cheeseburger week in Pasadena. And oh my, it was pretty amazing. The fries btw. Get the fries! They were freaking delicious and perfectly crispy! It doesnt even need ketchup for those of you who use ketchup lol. A great match with the burger, though perhaps a bit on the saltier side. Its pretty damn filling too! Double patty!

King’s has become one of my go-to places in Old Town to grab a well-made Old Fashioned. Yeah, you guessed it, if you’ve read some of my other reviews, you’ll know I’m on a hunt to find some good Old Fashioned cocktails! You can grab a drink at the bar and find a table outside to hang out. When it’s cold out, they’ll have the heat lamps. Or you can hang out inside; sometimes they’ll have a live band there. There’s also some bar food available, but the best part is that King’s is located right next to the parking structure on Green St! You exit the structure and the back of King’s is right there! That should come in handy when you’ve had as many Old Fashioned’s as I have.

Went here once with my younger sibling to grab an afternoon brew aka«liquor lunch» and I have to say, it was pretty darn cool. A quaint hidden spot on Colorado Blvd. The entrance to this joint is easy to miss, well at least for me it was being all new to Pasadena that is. Their selection of craft brews is pretty good, a plentiful amount and the staff there really know how to recommend what suits your needs when it comes to enjoying adult beverages. Definitely A-Ok in my book and I’ll definitely try this place out again, but this time to experience some of their food. From the pictures I’ve seen, it looks worth the try and that’s what life is all about… it’s all about trying something new and something outside your comfort level. Next time I head there, I expect you to join me. =)

This is a pretty chill spot to go for drinks. They have a wide variety of beers. I don’t really like beer but everyone I go with seems to like what they have on tap. The bartender(blonde guy I don’t know his name sorry) is pretty good at making up drinks for you and tweaking recipes they have to suite your taste. I’ve never eaten here but the fish & chips seem to be a popular item.

Pros: Great atmosphere, delicious food, and really spicy bloody marys. I ordered the breakfast burrito which is served with french fries stuffed inside and fresh salsa on the side, which was delicious. Overall it’s a nice hipster-ish hangout. Cons: A homeless man repeatedly walked into the dining patio and ATEFOODOFFPLATES, asked patrons for money, and even took an entire bottle of wine. No employees made any attempt to intervene, so naturally the man just kept coming back for more. He asked my fiancé for money with a chicken wing in his hand and food dripping off his beard. Not the best experience.

As a person that frequents Pasadena Kings Row is my favorite place to visit. I always recommended it to friends, colleagues, and always took people with me whenever I was in town. That all ended last night. My girlfriend and I were visited by two friends from out of the country who were on vacation in the States for New Years eve and of course I suggested we go to Kings Row. At the door we were let in no problem and went to the bar. The bartender was a delightful young lady and we told her that our friends were out of the country but had valid driver license from their respected nation. She advised that it would be ok but checked with her manager. The manager told us they couldn’t accept them to purchase alcohol. No problem, my girl and I got a drink while both of my friends got soft drinks. We settled to watch the live music when 10 minutes later the manager and a bouncer came in to kick us out. They told us we couldnt be there because the IDs were not VALID. We were escorted out in front of everyone in the ruddest manner but not before we gave them our money for our beers and sodas. So I guess tourist aren’t welcomed at Kings Row. Kings row you have lost a long time customer and I will never be returning to your establishment which is a shame because we have made such great memories there. The night wasn’t ruined we explained our situation to the staff at Barcelona and they were extremely understanding and welcoming and made our New Year’s Eve one to remember. Maybe they could teach Kings Row management a thing or two about hospitality.

Cool hidden pub in Old Town Pasadena. Not really hidden since its on Colorado, but you have to enter through a walkway to get in. Decent sized bar and service was good. Crowded on a weekday. Happy Hour is from 4 – 7 pm. $ 1 off beers. Not really a deal. Ballast Point Yellow Tail — $ 7 — Dollar off during happy hour. Good beer select, but pretty expensive pricing.

I’ve come here 3 times now, and the beers have not disappointed me each time. It is usually loud, even on the weeknights. The food is standard bar food; I would recommend just coming here for drinks. You order both food and drinks at the bar and take a number to your table. My only gripe is that the lines can get really long and disorganized to the point where people can easily butt you and simply reply, «I’m sorry, I didn’t see you, my bad». There is both indoor and outdoor seating available, first come first serve. This is a great place to catch up with new and old friends, because it has a happening vibe in a casual atmosphere.

Fun place to hang out and watch the games. Not super crowded but a good crowd on a Sunday. We were able to grab a table right away. They have plenty of TVs scattered around. I ordered the wings and Brussel sprouts. Both to die for. The Brussel sprouts had beets with walnuts and cranberries. The flavors together were a perfect combination. The wings are a must order. They did such a good job with the wings. The chipotle and honey balanced each other out so well. Tasty little guys. I just wish one order was more than 7 pieces. Gobbled those bad boys up. Delicious! They have indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are super friendly and very tuned in with what is going on. A homeless man was coming in the back to head down to the restroom and was immediately stopped him at the door. It makes me uncomfortable when outside people come in to solicit, let alone a homeless man coming to use the restrooms. Happy to see they handled the situation right away. Will be back to have more wings and watch more games. I noticed they had a brunch menu so will definitely try the pork hash next time.

Many of times have I stepped into this bar ready to escape from the grind into the sweet arms of happy hour. One of the main draws to this bar is the kick back nature the setting provides. Parking can be found in a structure down Green st and entrances can be found either on Colorado street or the walkway adjacent from the parking structure. The gastropub provides an admirable selection of bar foods and 24 beers on tap(aside from wines and cocktails) and is a great place to just kick back with some friends or colleagues. What I always get: + Market Salad — It changes based on the chef’s whim but is always a great choice. + Fries + House Aioli — Crispy and addicting. Sometimes I lose track of how much I actually eat! Other notable foods: +Veal marrow with red onion jam and mustard caviar — Quite a unique choice to have a gastropub. If you are a fan of marrow in general, this tastes great alone or with bread topped with jam and mustard caviar. Very unique flavor pairing that works. +Brussels Sprouts — I generally love Brussels sprouts and kings row does it justice with its roasted Brussels sprouts. Drinks: I prefer mules(let the bartender know how you would like them prepared), but you can get a variety of drinks to your liking(e.g Sangrias, or Fireballs made with moonshine). Let the bartender know what you like and they’ll slap together something great for you. Ambiance: Very casual, laid back. You can sit on the patio or there are tables on the inside that can accommodate larger groups. Food and drinks can be ordered at the bar and brought to you. King’s Row remains one of my favorites to start the evening. Fill the belly and have some beers then get ready to move on to the other bars in the area. — — — — — - Beer Menu: Cocktails: Food:

Things I like about King’s Row Gastropub: –there is an outdoor area which allows Bambi(our baby pug) to be with us. –I like the laid back look, Backyard feel, Rustic-season Fall atmosphere outside. –NOSMOKING!!! I like that a lot. I cannot stand hipsters with their cigs. –the Reggae music that was playing throughout –the food is great! Bone marrow, pulled pork, broccolini, and their beers are real good. «I ate like a caveman!» Things I do not like: –no menu to hold and order from. Smart for a business owner not to spend on menus. So Bring your kids, bring your husbands and wives, your beloved pets, and a huge appetite. King’s Row will take care of ya!

After dinner, was strolling through Old Town and we cut down one of my favorite little alley of bars when we saw King’s Row. Busy, but not too crowded, it looked like a good spot to grab a nightcap. Stepped inside and hubby and I were excited to see some old arcade games. We were considering having a serious Galaga battle when I saw a couple of guys & guitars setting up at the bar. We stepped over to the bar to grab a couple of drinks, but 2 seats opened up and we sat down. What was supposed to be 1 round, turned into 2. Why? First, the music. 2 guys and their guitars playing chill 80’s/90’s covers. Awesome. I heard a little Soundgarden, Tom Petty, a great cover of Tainted Love, etc. Plus, they threw in some originals. Second, the drinks. For some reason, we decide to order Greyhounds(grapefruit juice & vodka). They were FANTASTIC Because they use freshly squeeze grapefruits. Perfect. Plus, while sitting at the bar, there’s tv’s highlighting all the latests sports scores. Didn’t get to try the food, but had a great time!

Okay — so there’s this dark beer there(suggested by the bartender) that has a chocolate coffee note to it. YUM! We came here, about eight of us, around 9pm on a Tuesday night. The place was still pretty busy… I wasn’t hungry, I just went to hang out, but I did order a drink, The Rum Dairy. It was described to me as «sort of a piña colada but without the pineapple». I’m a huge coconut fan, so it sounds right up my alley. However, the drink was tiny, came in a champagne glass(when they were glasses and not flutes) and tasted more like a margarita than anything else… But without the ice cubes. I should have stuck to my regular Rum and Coke… Oh well, you live and learn. I thought the $ 11 price tag was a little high for a tiny drink that didn’t taste anything like coconut. But my friend’s beer was delicious, and very strong…12% alcohol! This place has an excellent vibe and décor. My friends and I had a great time catching up, being silly and I really loved the music they played. The patio area outside is nice as well, we were going to sit out there, but there wasn’t enough room when we first got there, so we settled on getting a table. I felt strangely comfortable at the tall picnic-like table with bar stools. The menu looks very interesting and I will be ordering something next time… So review updates coming for food soon! This place is in old town, so the parking garage off of Fair Oaks and Colorado is pretty convenient(I paid $ 6 for parking). I have never been able to find street parking on Colorado… It also a bit difficult to see from the street. So just look for the corner with 800 Degrees and it’s on Colorado two doors down. The address is pretty predominant on the building, but the sign for the gastropub is not as obvious as I would have liked it to be.

We came here on a Sunday to grab a quick beer and bite to eat. It is located right in the heart of old Pasadena. I like that King’s Row has both indoor and outdoor seating. The only bad thing about outdoor sitting is not every table has umbrellas so it can get quite hot outside especially since the chairs are metal. It was pretty hot on the day we came so we opted to sit inside. King’s Row has happy hour every day from 4−7pm and all day on Tuesday. Happy hour is $ 1 off beers($ 7-$ 10), $ 2 off wine($ 9), $ 8 mules and $ 11 specialty drinks. The food options include fries($ 3), market arugula salad($ 6), and cheeseburger($ 8). I will say the food options are quite limited. The menu consists of one salad, a few small bites(naan bread, fries, mac and cheese), burratta, pork sandwich and a few brunch options. I get that it’s a bar but since ta a gastropub I just wish they had more options. The Mac and cheese($ 10) is pretty tasty! There is no service per se as you order your food/drinks from the bar and you get a number and a food server will bring you your food. Our bartender was amazing! King’s Row also has live music(at least on Sundays) which is pretty cool. This is a good spot to have a drink and listen to music but I don’t know if I would come back here for a meal.

Great little spot in old town Pasadena. I love the staff here. Everyone’s so nice and welcoming. The food here is pretty good and their selection of drinks are awesome. Bartenders I’ve dealt with here never had a problem answering and educating me about certain drinks. This place can get pretty packed later into the night. Especially the outdoor area, and I can understand why; it’s so pretty!!! I’ve made it my thing to spot in here for at least a drink every time I’m in town. The first time I can here, I needed to use the restroom. Even though they knew I wasn’t a customer they were still nice enough to guide me there. Which at first was scary because it was down stairs away from the bar. I guess it helps give more room for the bar area. Overall, great bar with great food and great service!!!
