As of today, 3÷22÷2014 everything was 50% off and that included alcohol. People were rolling out with baskets full of stuff.

It’s sad to know they’re closing. Great meat section and butcher service, they can do the cut you want. It’s the place I always come to get great quality USDA Prime steaks and roasts. Price on USDA Prime is better than Costco which only occasionally has USDA Prime stock and other grocery stores only sell USDA Choice.

Have to say that despite it being 7 miles plus from the house, it is worth driving here for their meats and butcher service. I have NEVER been disappointed with their selection or service of meats. Don’t see what you are looking for in the meat pre pack section? Well just go ask. There is never any hesitation, 2″ chops? 5 lb. chuck? Prime beef? fresh Ox-tails? It’s a magical back room. Their seafood is also superior to any other market in the area. Pricing is in the ball park as the other big markets. I also like their produce. They prep them right to be and stay fresh. Also, tri-tip, Asada and ribs bbq’d in front on the weekends. Meaty and well priced. It’s the last of what was a chain(remember Hughes?). Give them a try

Amazing butcher service. On multiple occasions they have cut exactly the portion size I needed. Meat and seafood is of very high quality. Weekly specials are amazing! With all of this and friendly, helpful staff(even when you are there close to closing time) makes this one of the best grocery stores!

I love Hows Market nestled on the boarder of San Gabriel and San Marino. Great selection of meats always — always quality and freshness, good veg/fruit/produce section and a great but not too large bakery area. But Hows is about the service — Not a chain like Ralphs or Vons and not a mom and pop market either. Just right… and just in between. Great friendly staff and quality selection of grocery items. Always great specials too. Store is always sparkling clean and plenty of parking. Plus BBQ brisket on the weekends outside the store’s entrance! Sweet! I wish there were more Hows Markets around. The chains can learn a lot from this independent market.

5 Stars for Service! No, not on the floor. I was searching for chicken stock for more than ten minutes and got no help. The only reason to come here is the Seafood and Meat Department. These guys are on it! They’re knowledgable, friendly, and will definitely go out of the
