Gourmet Pizza & Subs

In short — it is alright — not the best subs, not the best flavours and the portion sizes leave more to be desired.
Trying both their pizza’s and sub’s, I find myself coming back for their sub’s, but recently I couldn’t bring myself to why I come here. Everything is average — light seasoning is used on the meat for the cheesesteaks. In the past, their pies have held over for a more favourable option compared to the big names (pizza hut, dominos, papa johns), but they’re just basic and honestly nothing too special about their pizzas.
4 stars — decent, but there are better places in the immediate area

When I say don’t judge a book by its cover… I mean this joint looks modest– but the PIE is to DiE… for… You won’t regret the stop– plus everyone is incredibly friendly

Their food is very good. I love their tomato sauce, it is homemade! Staff is always friendly. Their prices are a little high.

Incredible food and wonderful staff. I have tried almost everything on the menu and the food always exceeds my expectations while truly tasting «gourmet». If you are ever in the area do yourself a favor and stop by this gem. You will definitely be back for more

I’ve been ordering food here for years. I usually order pizza but I have had their subs, Stromboli, and salads and everything I have had is quite good. As others have said, their staff is quite friendly and pleasant and their service is prompt. You can dine in or carry out. They do not offer delivery and their location can be a bit tricky to exit (due to Fort Smallwood Road traffic) but it is worth the trip.
They offer traditional pizzas (pepperoni, etc.) and they also offer a line of pizza’s they call gourmet. The gourmet pizzas are very innovative and original and you won’t typically find them at other pizza joints or if you do they are only a seasonal offering.
For example, just recently (2014) Papa Johns is offering a cheeseburger pizza. Gourmet Pizza has had a bacon cheeseburger pizza on their menu for years and in my opinion I think is better than Papa Johns. Similarly, when the other chains were offering Philly Cheesesteak Pizza, Gourmet had that on their menu before Dominos and Papa Johns and I think Gourmet Pizza’s is the best of the bunch.
The Taco Pizza is quite good and is one of my favorites. They also have a very good Italian Meat Sauce pizza (picture spaghetti sauce with meat (bolognaise) on the crust). It is quite good but my only complaint with the Italian Meat sauce pizza is that you need to be careful transporting it home. The cheese can slide on the sauce a bit and can make for some messy eating.
Their Chicken Bacon Ranch, Spicy Delight, and Cheddar Mozzarella blend, and White pizzas are also great.
You can also get several of the gourmet pizza styles as a Stromboli.

My family and I ordered food from here Friday evening at the last minute. I had a Supreme Chicken Cheese steak Sub, my husband had a Chicken Cheese steak Stromboli and our son had Cheese Pizza. Overall the food was very good and I’m sure we will be bringing our business back to Gourmet Subs and Pizza in the future. We also liked the convenience of placing our order online!

I love this place! They have an app where you can order everything you want and it notifies to you let you know when it is ready. The owners are very friendly in true Dena fashion. Their pizza is delicious as well as all the other options. I love their shrimp quesadilla. Myself and the others are my office eat here at least once a week!

Great service, great food. There’s variety in their pizzas that you just can’t find at Papa John’s or Pizza Hut. And everyone there is just so friendly.

Very friendly when you call and place an order. Never had a complaint! Pizza and subs are delicious!!! I grew up eating Sorrentos in arbutus… this is the closest I can get to that taste without having to go so far. Def worth the price too!

Good food and pizza. Not bad for the price to what you get. The employees were extremely nice everytime I have been there. Definitely will be back.

My gf introduced me to Gourmet Pizza and boy, am I glad she did! The owners are AMAZING, as is the whole staff. Family is very important here-they’re closed every Sunday and Monday and they take off two weeks in the summer for vacation (yes, they close down for two weeks! You know you”re doing something right if your able to do that!)
Their menu is HUGE. Seriously, anything and everything from really good pizza and strombolis, to any kind of sandwich and sub, to quesadillas, appetizers and other crazy things. Everything is really good– basically a step above what you’d expect from a carryout.
You can eat in or take-​out and we’ve done both. My gf has a plastic customer appreciation card that they scan and every once in a while, it gives her a discount.
The only real downside about Gourmet Pizza is that I always seem to want it on Sunday or Monday when they’re closed!

My wife and I have been going here for years. Mostly we share a taco pizza but sometimes we’ll get something different. The taco pizza is really very good. Other food we have tried has been good too and pretty much what you would expect from a carryout-​type place. The owners and the staff are very nice and the place is always clean.
