Awesome to have such a place in the neighborhood. Quality food and attentive staff. We’ve been multiple times and have never been disappointed. The live music creates a great atmosphere. Take a date or take the family, Primo is unassuming and will delight even the stingiest of foodies.

After living in pasadena for about 6 months, we would constantly pass primo and never wander in. Huge mistake. The menu boasts Italian fare at a good price. Since our first visit, we have been there about 10 times and have never once had a problem. We always try something different and I can’t even recommend anything because everything is good. Veal piccata is good, chicken farfalle, ravioli, etc. Always see the owner or the manager and he always says hi and checks in. Great place. Last word of advice: Get the cannoli nachos. Trust me.

The food was fine, but the service left something to be desired: — Ordered red wine and was given wine cooler for table… No — Waited for a long time on water refills and had to remind them multiple times — Our plates were left sitting on our table forever. When they brought dessert, we still had our plates! We actually had to ask them to take the dirty plates away. The food was good, but I wouldn’t say anything was particularly outstanding. The cream of crab soup was probably the highlight.

Overall, I’m pretty impressed with my first visit to Primo Pasta Kitchen. The online ordering experience was easy and my food was ready when I got there(about 20 minutes later). When I drove up, the parking lot was pretty crowded, which I took as a good sign. I stepped into the restaurant and all of a sudden the room was filled with live guitar music and singing from a guy in the far right corner. He looked a little cramped behind all those tables, but no one seemed to mind(although I don’t prefer live music while I eat, you might enjoy it since the music was indeed good). I was a little confused as to where to stand to pick up my order, since there’s nothing to tell you where to pick up or wait to be seated, but a waiter quickly walked up to me and handed me my food. Now onto the food! My boyfriend and I got the same meal: Fish sub with fries and a cup of cream of crab soup. The fish sub was good, but the online menu said that it would come with tartar sauce and some sort of tomato-basil mix, but it didn’t. Basically, it was just fried fish on a sub with lettuce and tomato. It was really good, but it could have been better with the extra sauce. The fries were typical but delicious all the same. As for the soup? I am very particular about my cream of crab soup, since it’s my favorite. I have gone to other restaurants in the area and haven’t been impressed by very many of them… but this soup? My God. It was SOGOOD! Nice and creamy with tons of lumpy crab meat in it. It had a touch of Old Bay seasoning, which sent it over the edge on my taste buds. I might come back just to get more of this soup! I’m definitely coming back to this place!

They’ve got a new head chef that has breathed some life back into the menu. Amazing specials and it seems even the old standbys have improved significantly. Went for a birthday dinner and had a fantastic hangar steak and a deconstructed lobster roll bruschetta for an appetizer! Definitely give this place another try if you haven’t been in recently.

This Italian place is on point! Their tomato sauce is awesome! My friend got the seafood Alfredo, I got the regular spaghetti and meatballs, my fiancé got the chicken imperial. All of the dishes were awesome! Our server was great as well. I can’t remember her name, younger girl with long brown hair in a side braid. Just overall excellent, food, service, and atmosphere. Will definitely be going back!

Live across the street and this was my first time having a meal there. Started out with the bread and dipping oil, it was delicious. Wife and I both got the house salad, not special but tasty. I got the veal parm with angel hair pasta. It was very good. My wife had the spaghetti with meat sauce and she enjoyed it. Our waiter was very attentive and pleasant. Other staff was around for back up. Restrooms were very clean as was the restaurant. We will be going back.

This is absolutely our favorite place to go for lunch. The bread and dipping oil is AMAZING! The staff is always super friendly and helpful. Between the four of us, we have tried over half the menu and have never had any complaints. They always put my four year olds food in first, so she can pick at her food and take her time. The lobster ravioli is my favorite. Last time they made it for me with a different sauce, and it was soooo good. The only thing I would suggest is to have the burger on the dinner menu. My husband will not go here for dinner, he doesn’t eat pasta. He always gets a burger when we go out to eat. So this limits us to only coming here for lunch.

Just like everyone living close by, we were very excited to have an Italian restaurant so close to home. Being that every other restaurant at that location has failed, I was not very optimistic. I was pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Neither one of us was too hungry, so we split calamari, a house salad, and rigatoni. Without us mentioning it, the waitress asked if we were splitting all of this, which we were. They brought the salad and entrée out split in two separate plates! I’ve never had a restaurant ask that, or even do that. Not to mention, they were packed, so the service was that much more impressive to me The calamari was great, and the portion was huge for an appetizer. I believe it had a cornmeal type breading, which was great. It was cooked perfectly as well. It came with a garlic aioli and marinara, both of which were good. The house salad was typical, but tasty and plentiful. Ranch dressing was good. The sausage and spinach rigatoni was decent. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, but the dish as a whole was okay. Probably wouldn’t get it again. A few other people ordered pizza, which looked great. We each had a glass of wine, which was an adequate serving. Price wise, it was all very reasonable. We will definitely be going back again to see if they can replicate.

I ordered a panini for carryout and thought it was pretty good so I decided to eat in a couple weeks later. Had the ravioli since this place is Italian. It looked and smelled delicious. Unfortunately it was very bland. My friend had the crab cake and said it was the worst she ever had.

The food was so-so… My biggest thrill here was the dipping oil for the bread! Undeniably delicious! Entrée wise… My hub’s spaghetti and meatballs were processed tasting. My ravioli was decent. The condition of the building is worn. It looks like they re-vamped it after they bought it and it is starting to get scuffed up.

We stopped here on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. Wife’s spaghetti with meat sauce was very good but just a tad salty. My chicken parmigiano was good but I prefer a bit more season in the marinara so they brought out a small bowl of the meat sauce and I was in heaven. Nice wine menu and you have to try the profiteroles. Gil was the waiter and great. He alone will make me a return customer.

I’m not sure what prompted some of the previous lackluster reviews, but we eat at Primo fairly regularly and find the food, service, and atmosphere to be wonderful. This place has been a great addition to our area and we enjoy it more than Mezzanote — though we appreciate some of the recipes that found their way from the SP establishment(as well as Domenica’s in Annapolis –miss her place) to the Fort Smallwood Road kitchen. When we just want a quick meal, the happy hour menu is perfect — try the fried ravioli!

Do not eat here. My husband and I have only eaten here twice but after the last time we will not be returning. I had the Shrimp Scampi and we still have no idea what type of sauce it was cooked in but it was not scampi. My husband had the Veal Parmesan and it tasted as though the veal had been cooked in a buffalo sauce before being smothered in marinara. I was literally sick to my stomach moments after leaving this place.

Went back last night. Service was great. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and was not forgetful or aloof. He was enjoyable to be around! My meal was much better than my last. The Linguini Caprese was yummy. A lot of tomato and the buffalo mozzarella seemed really fresh. I thought the sauce for this dish was much better than my last. My husband thought his meal was just okay. The bar area was calm though there was a game going on. The atmosphere was pleasant and we were in no rush to leave. We even got bread! Will come back again and maybe brave a dish with red sauce again. 3 stars.

After months of driving by we finally decided to try this place out. I love pasta so I was really excited that restaurant had opened in my neighborhood. We went on a slow night(a Tuesday) and were seated right away. While our waiter was somewhat attentive we did not feel like he really cared that we were sitting there. I had the salmon picatta and my husband had the penne fra diablo. Both were very good and reasonably priced. What was not reasonably priced was everything else. While it was good wine, $ 7 a glass is a little pricey as is charging $ 7 for gelato, which wasn’t real gelato but just ice cream as far as we could tell. Also, if you list«assorted gelatos» on your menu you really should have more than one flavor available. So three stars for the food, which we enjoyed but no stars for the prices. There are other Italian places close by which are just as good for a better price.

Okay, so my wife and I consider ourselves foodies. There were more tvs in this place than some of the bars around that claim to cater to the sports fans. We had high hopes for a delicious Italian dinner. It’s less than two miles from where we live. We wanted this to work. When we walked in we were greeted with awkward, distant stares from both the host and the bartender. After more than a minute of looking around in the entry way, someone came over to help us find a table. We requested a table for two and were told that one would need to be «wiped down» before we could be seated. Despite several open tables, we were seated at a 4-top next to the kitchen door. Once we arrived at our seats for the meal, we were greeted by a waiter who gave us menus and took our drink orders. Part of the appeal of this local joint is the full bar. Again, we had high hopes. A dirty martini tasted like it was a shot of vodka in a jar of olives. My wife’s Cosmopolitan was closer to a spiked pink lemonade than anything from Sex In The City. We ordered the antipasto, a caesar salad, the salmon picatta and the veal saltimboco, a self proclaimed house specialty. The antipasto left me wondering what the hell the chef was thinking. It was a plate with obviously plastic wrapped lunch meat, paired with canned artichoke hearts, canned roasted tomatoes, some low end cheese and an unexplainable caprese salad under it all. My wife’s caesar salad was mediocre at best. The salmon picatta and veal saltimboco were suspiciously similar in texture. Mushy, a bit overcooked and too salty. I love a good veal saltimboco, but I had to order a glass of water after the first few bites. The water wasn’t served until I asked for the check — some fifteen minutes later. We ordered a second drink when our entrees arrived — but did’t receive it until we were practically done with our entrees. The fact the that we got the drink at all warrants a second star. We hope they figure it out. We hope they shift from ingredients that are obviously coming from the Mars Supermarket across the street to the fresh ingredients available to the great restaurants in our area… but until we hear about that shift — we wont be back. We hope they put the effort that was put into the design of the place into the food. C’mon Primo! We want love you!
